"See you at lunch?"

When she said that with her sweet innocent smile my heart dropped. She was just too perfect, she knew what to say and when to say it. I just smiled back like an idiot

"Thanks."

I sort of relaxed a little bit and put my attention on the teacher. She started to give a presentation on how things are gonna go this year. She talked about grade marks, how much class and homework assignments are worth, and how test scores have the biggest impact on our grade. As I was taking notes of the presentation I felt someone watching me. I turn back and see Gabriel staring at me like he wants to kill me. I just looked at him and went back to my notes.

The teacher ended her presentation 20 minutes later and told us that we have 10 mins of free time. I look at Alana and introduce myself.

"Hey I'm Jesse and it looks like we're gonna be partners for a while"

She looks at me and says, "Yeah I guess we are, wanna hang out sometime to get to know each other better?"

"Sure why not, I have nothing better to do." I smile.

"See you at lunch?" she asked.

"Okay."

I start to put my things away when I still feel like someone is watching me. I turn around to find Gabriel still looking at me. I've had enough.

"Yo I have something on my face or what?"

"No, I should of sat there!"said gabriel

"Well, maybe you can ask your parents to pay for it next time."

I know I shouldn't have said that but he needs to know that he won't always get his way. Mom and dad won't always be there for him to give him what he wants. He's a big boy now he can handle the world now.

Out of nowhere Alana jumps in, "Stop being mean to jesse, he's right your parents always get you what you want and its unfair to people who actually try in order to get good grades."

Her saying that made him hate my guts even more but I could care less at this point because he was more hurt that Alana agreed with me and yelled at him. To me that was the icing on the cake.

The bell rings and we head out to our next class.
