A Mad Conqueror - Part 4

"Let's go—" he started to say, sliding the sword through his belt buckle and freeing up both hands for the mace. His words – and his actions – were cut off though, by a sudden thud that nearly rocked him from his feet.

It wasn't the first time that Vol had been hit by an arrow, but it was certainly the first time he'd been hit that hard. In a brief moment of insanity, he wondered what the draw strength of the bow was, while the shock still ruled instead of pain.

The arrow had pierced right through his upper arm, so cleanly that the arm itself was now nestled halfway up the shaft, as the rest of the arrow tried to pierce through Vol's body, pinning his arm to his side.

Only in that regard, did the arrow fail. He cursed lightly. Nolan had taken away all his armour, and his weaponry, else something like that should never have caught him.
