Jayce and Britney spent the rest of the night inside the dimensional cube, attempting to get her to trigger demonic energy. Previously, he had tried to get her to activate it by angering her.
After not getting any results, Jayce changed his approach. Ashley had been able to use demonic energy when her life was on the line. This piece of information shifted how he assumed demonic energy activated.
For him, it was when his rage reached the point of exploding. For Ashley, it was the adrenaline or fear of dying that made it turn on. Rather than anger being the trigger, being in a state of emotional distress seemed to cause the body to accept the violent energy.
Although Jayce had a better idea of how to get it to activate, it changed nothing.
Britney wasn't angry at anything enough and any fear he could strike into her would be superficial since she knew he couldn't hurt a hair on her head without suffering backlash from breaking his side of the contract.
