The Dragon's Smithy

[Quest Recieved]

[Evolve!]

Reading the quest name, Jayce was curious about what kind of quest he got. But decided to hold it off until he ate breakfast.

"I'm coming," Jayce said.

Closing the notification, Jayce got up and made his way into the dining room. Taking a seat at the table, Yuko brought out chocolate pancakes.

She set them down on the table and took a seat right next to Jayce.

Jayce put some pancakes on his plate and dug in while Yuko just watched with a smile on her face.

"Seems like you're in a better mood," Jayce said as he took another bite.

"It's just that you're so cute when you stuff your face like that," Yuko said with a bright expression.

"If you say so," Jayce responded uninterestedly.

They continued making small talk until Jayce finished eating. He wanted to help clean up but Yuko insisted that she would do it.

Seeing that she wouldn't take no for an answer, he gave up and went to take a shower.

Entering the bathroom, Jayce took his clothes off and then jumped into the shower. Hot water poured on his face as he thought back to the dream.

'The pressure it was releasing was much stronger than the headmaster's.' Jayce thought.

He then wondered if the two of them were to fight, who would win? Jayce quickly disregarded that idea as he opened up his Status Menu.

He was close to getting all of his stats to twenty which would increase his Synchro rate to 2%.

Knowing how much of a bonus he receives from it, he used his available stat points to increase his stats.

[Stats]

[HP: 230/230 -> 250/250]

[Mana: 0/0]

[Stamina: 220/240 -> 250/250]

[Vitality: 18 -> 20]

[Endurance: 19 -> 20]

[Strength: 18 -> 20]

[Dexterity: 15 -> 20]

[Agility: 18 -> 20]

[Intelligence: 16 -> 21]

[Charisma: 12]

[Avalible Stat Points: 0]

After distributing his stat points, he opened the quest he had received earlier today.

[Evolve!]

[The stronger a demon gets, the higher chance they have to evolve. When a demon does evolve, its strength grows exponentially. If the Host wants to become stronger, evolving would be the fastest way.]

[Quest Rewards: ???]

[Time Limit: None]

[Quest Failure: ???]

Jayce had read many different types of books on demons but none of them stated that demons could evolve.

The quest also didn't inform him of how he could evolve, he would have to figure it out by himself.

'Do they just not know or are they hiding it?' Jayce questioned.

No matter how hard he thought, he couldn't figure it out. Unless he investigated it, he could only make assumptions.

Washing the rest of the soap off, Jayce turned off the water and stepped out of the shower.

Grabbing one of the towels on the wall, Jayce dried himself off and went into his room to grab a new pair of clothes to wear.

Putting the clothes on, Jayce left his room to talk to Yuko. But after looking around his dorm room he couldn't find Yuko which he assumed she had left after cleaning up.

Jayce was kinda glad she left as he was going to make excuses since he didn't want to bring Yuko along with him.

It only took a few minutes before he arrived at the gate. The guards stopped them as they scanned his ID, seeing that he had permission they let Jayce through without any problems.

Jayce grabbed his ID and walked through the gate entering the town. There were numerous amounts of vendors along the bustling street.

'It's as lively as the last time I was here.' Jayce thought.

The people who were running the stalls weren't human but Others, Jayce had read about a few of the different races.

There were the Elves who have long pointed ears and prolonged lifespans but have trouble reproducing making their numbers slowly dwindle.

Then there are the Nekomi, who are humans with feline traits such as cat ears and a tail and are known for their dexterity and agility.

Another race was the Okami, they are humans with wolf-like traits such as wolf ears and a tail, similar to the Nekomi, they are known for their agility and strength.

Lastly, there were the Dwarfs, very short humans who can grow muscle and hair very easily, they are known for their craftsmanship, endurance, vitality, and interest in minerals.

These four races compromised the Others within the town. Humans can also be seen in the crowd but they are heavily outnumbered by the Others. Jayce wandered around the town until he found the place he was looking for.

Jayce opened the door to the building as a bell sounded throughout the room.

"I'll be right there!" A feminine voice responded.

On one side of the room, longswords and hammers were hanging off the wall while daggers and shortswords were put on display.

The other side of the room consisted of different types of armor, such as leather, fabric, and steel.

While Jayce was glancing around a young nekomi woman with short brown wavy hair came out of a room from behind the counter.

"Welcome to The Dragon's Smithy, how can I help you today?" The woman said with a welcoming smile.

"Are these the best products you got?" Jayce asked.

"Yes, they are best of the best." She said eagerly.

"Disappointing," Jayce mumbled under his breath.

The woman raised an eyebrow at Jayce's comment. Even though she was across the store, her feline ears were able to pick up on it.

The first thing Jayce did when he entered the smithy was inspect all the weaponry and armory with his eye.

He was hoping to get lucky just like with the gauntlets but all of the gear on display was on par with normal weapons at best.

Jayce had a chat with the system some time ago about the rarity of equipment. From worst to best it went as common, uncommon, rare, epic, legendary, demonic, and godlike.

"Is the customer not satisfied with our store's quality?" The woman said while trying to hide her irritation.

"Honestly, the quality of your is trash. I'll be leaving if this is all you can offer." Jayce responded as he made his way toward the door.

"YA DARE CALL MY CREATIONS GARBAGE!!!"

Both Jayce and the woman covered their ears from the scream that came from the back room. A dwarf punched the door as he trotted over to where Jayce was standing.

The dwarf was bald with a grey beard and was wearing a leather apron with no shirt, gloves, and leather pants. His muscles bulged as he made his way toward Jayce.

"ARE YA THE FUCKER THAT CALLED MY WORK TRASH!!!"
