4 The dance

Five years ago:

The hall was full with dozen of vampires; they were dressed in an expensively breath-taking suits and outstanding dresses. The code dress was for men to wear white suits as for women to wear silver dresses. Well, everyone but me.

I stepped inside the hall while having by my side both of my so-called friends Lia and Abigale.

Abigale was the daughter of Lord Eeyore, she's a social climber who thinks I could be her best chance to meet a Duke or a Marquees. She was blessed with such a beauty that no one can not notice. Her green eyes are actually one lost piece out of the natural mother, a small nose that was placed in the middle of her small, rounded face. Rosy cheeks were what brought life to her pale skin. Her red hair was long yet curly, giving her a charming appearance. Her only default was that she wasn't the princess I am.

On the other side was Lia, daughter of Duke and Duchess Von Stein. She was also beautiful but not as much as Abigale, nor smart like her. She was a stolen piece out of the sun with her very blond hair. Blue gigantic eyes that were like jewels in the middle of her oval face. His nose was made to definitely match her heart-shaped red lips. I would've actually loved her if she wasn't an empty head creature that wants and envies everything I'm having.

Both of them were standing by my side with their gorgeous looking dresses, while in the middle, I was outstanding them along with anyone else with a made by heaven white and golden dress that no one can afford but my father – the king.

Music in light the darkness of the night while the scent of the champagne mixed with blood makes it hard for me to think. Human maids were not allowed into the hall in hope of avoiding any unnecessary scenes, instead, they were replaced by newly born vampire maids.

As a royalty, I shall maintain such a balance between keeping my distance and approaching the important people around me.

I settled myself away from the people who were dancing, then I came to notice that the minion that shall be by my side are nowhere to be seen, which kind of brought me a sort of relief. They have probably thrown themselves into some good-looking, high-ranking vampires, as they've always done.

"Your highness!" A voice came to interrupt my none doing a thing session. I turn to face a very handsome vampire.

Since I'm a vampire princess, I grew up surrounded by vampires. As it's known, being good-looking and attractive is part of our nature since it helps us to hunt. Yet, I've never met such a beauty as this stranger holds.

Lost in my thoughts I was that I didn't notice the fact of me staring at the stranger in a weird way. Only a chuckle out of his lovely good looking mouth brought me back to reality.

Not to make it more awkward, the stranger decided to speak for a second time.

"My name is Aeron Athan… I'm one of the people who were miseries by your beauty tonight."

His voice was the perfection itself, living no space for any flow in his perfectness.

All he needed was to introduce himself to get me even lost. I mean was I hearing it right, the famous Aeron Athan.

The legendary vampire that no one dares to cross his way, even my father who never was impressed by anyone was impressed by such a vampire.

"Pleased to meet you…" I was lost in his sight that I didn't know if it was right to call him by his name, or shall I use a title while speaking to him. As he came to notice my struggles, he decided to do me a favor by speaking another time.

"Aeron, call me Aeron, your highness." He said while wearing the most perfect smile I could've ever seen.

"Okay, Aeron …" I told him while trying to maintain a smile that I was sure wouldn't be enough to match his.

"Would you like to give the honor for this dance?"

His question got me wondering deep inside about if I was a fit for such a good-looking creature. My hesitation when answering gave Aeron that impression of rejection.

"If you don't want to that's okay, Princesses. Don't feel any pressure..."

"No, no, no! I didn't mean it that way. Of course, it's an immense honor to share a dance with someone like you."

The smile that was drawn on his face found its way back to his face upon my answer.

He extended his hand toward me as a sort of invitation, and I accepted his hand.

He then led the way toward the dance floor, and I followed along with him.

The noise died down as we stepped inside of the dance floor. I've tried to ignore the stares we received, but it wasn't possible. The music died down before it started again.

Once it started, we took a step forward and bowed while never breaking eye contact. We circled each other, our gaze remained locked. Aeron placed his hand on my back, and I did the same while trying to maintain my calm, and our free hands finally met.

We kept on dancing and dancing without thinking of stopping for what seems like forever. It was my first time being hooked at someone that way.

Everything about him was perfect, the way he danced, the way he smiled, even the way his eyes were watching my each and every move.

His eyes stopped moving as they were now locked while observing my lips, which caused me to lose control over myself. I was feeling his steady breath getting closer, as his face was more than just near to mine. His eyes were at the same level as mine while his perfect nose was closely touching mine, and the moment his lips were about to touch mine - lights went off…
