After regaining his powers and reaching a new level, Reverse-Flash became somewhat uneasy.
He looked at Jack with great shock.
This seemingly ordinary man not only absorbed his speed but also took him to a new peak with just a casual wave of his hand.
Even with all of Reverse-Flash's knowledge, he could not figure out how he did that.
"It should be about time,"
Jack said, looking up at the sky. He nodded with a serious expression and suddenly looked at Reverse-Flash.
"Wanna grab a drink?"
"Huh?"
Reverse-Flash was taken aback.
At the coffee shop...
Jack glanced at the fake paralysis of Reverse-Flash while stirring his coffee.
He said, "Honestly, why are you pretending to be paralyzed? Sitting all day, aren't you afraid of getting hemorrhoids?"
Reverse-Flash, who was enjoying his delicious coffee, almost spat it out.
Him.
Reverse-Flash, the archenemy of the Flash.
How could he get hemorrhoids?!
Although sitting for too long could be uncomfortable.
"Because of the particle accelerator explosion, I had no choice,"
"Dr. Wells" calmly wiped the coffee from the corner of his mouth and sighed.
"No one would have the heart to blame him, a scientist who lost everything and became paralyzed."
"You have a good understanding of human nature."
Jack shook his head and chuckled.
If he had not done that, angry investors would have torn Dr. Wells apart the day after the particle accelerator exploded.
"Understanding human nature is actually quite simple. It falls within the fields of logic and psychology. Once you grasp the right methods, understanding a person is easy."
Dr. Wells rolled his eyes and looked at Jack with a confused expression on his face.
"But I can't figure you out. Why did we come here?"
As soon as he regained his powers, Reverse-Flash couldn't help but want to return to the future.
However, Jack's words made him change his mind.
Benefits?
What benefits?
And based on how serious he looked, it probably wasn't something small.
That's why Reverse-Flash decided to stay for a while to see what would happen.
Of course, he would never admit that the reason he did not refuse Jack was because he was afraid.
"Well..."
Jack nodded, set down his coffee, and pointed to Iris West behind the cash register not far away.
"Iris West? Allen's wife?"
Reverse-Flash glanced at the black woman with even more confusion.
Of course, he knew Iris, the future wife of the Flash.
But apart from that, she didn't seem to have any other special. So why did Jack specifically mention her?
"I think she won't become Barry's wife anymore!"
Jack smiled mysteriously, and his words greatly changed Reverse-Flash's expression.
"I think she will marry Eddie Thawne, your ancestor. Is he your grandfather or great-grandfather?"
"This is impossible!"
Reverse-Flash shook his head immediately and said that it was impossible.
"Iris West will someday marry Barry Allen. The future has already been decided."
There was even a hint of panic in Reverse-Flash's words because if what Jack said was true, there was only one result.
The future would change, and he would no longer exist. He would be totally erased from the timeline!
"Oh, look, he's here. I think he's going to propose!"
Jack seemed unbothered by Reverse-Flash's words. He pointed with interest at Eddie, who entered the coffee shop.
Eddie tightly gripped a small box in his hand. He looked a little nervous and excited, so it was clear that he was about to do something important.
"Oh, no!"
Jack saw it, and Reverse-Flash saw it too.
When he saw what Eddie was about to do, he almost could not help but stand up, even if it meant letting Eddie expose his identity to stop him.
This had to do with his own life.
"Stay calm!"
Jack held Reverse-Flash down while keeping his eyes on the counter.
Eddie took a deep breath and tried to calm his racing heart as he looked at his busy girlfriend behind the counter.
The palm of his hand holding the ring box was already sweaty. He had never been this nervous, even in the face of a heartless armed robber.
And all of this was because he was about to propose.
He didn't know what had gotten into him.
After leaving the police station, he had a strong desire to see Iris, to be with her all the time, and never to be apart from her.
After his " supernatural incident, " he needed Iris' comfort. He then came here.
Propose?
Of course, Eddie had thought about spending his life with Iris, but proposing... it seemed a bit too early, right?
He did everything on the spot, without making any plans.
Even without flowers!
Looking at his busy girlfriend and seeing her genuine smile, Eddie suddenly felt calm.
He thought about a lot of things, like how he liked Iris from the first time he saw her, how he awkwardly asked her to dinner, how much fun it was to get to know her, and their first kiss as a couple.
Eddie deeply knew that he couldn't be without Iris anymore. He threw all plans out the window and decided to propose immediately.
With a clear mind, Eddie moved quickly toward Iris. She had finally seen him and came out from behind the counter, looking surprised.
"Eddie, aren't you supposed to be at the police station? How come you're free..."
Iris started to speak but was interrupted when Eddie suddenly knelt on one knee, looking up at her.
After a brief moment of shock, Iris immediately realized what he was about to do. She put her hand over her mouth and looked at him with tears in her eyes.
"Eris, I want you to know,"
Eddie looked at Iris with affection, and his deep voice had a power that was hard to describe.
"I fell in love with you at first sight, but I did not realize how much I love you until today. Every decision I have made in my life has been different because of you. As long as I have you by my side, my life has value, no matter how long it is. You taught me how to love, and if it were not for you, I would not even believe in love. So, I want to do everything I can for you for the rest of my life. Will you marry me?"
Finally, Eddie took out the ring box that had long been soaked by his sweaty hand.
He opened it, revealing a platinum ring with a heart-shaped diamond resting quietly inside.
Tears flowed down her face, Iris looked at Eddie, who was full of excitement and a little bit of nervousness.
How could she bear to refuse?
"I do!"
Seeing her lover nod through her sobs and utter those words, Eddie couldn't contain his excitement.
He jumped up from the floor and hugged Iris tightly.
The people who were watching cheered and sent their blessings.
However, in the corner of the coffee shop, Reverse-Flash had a frustrated expression.
Well, perhaps it was even worse than that.
"This is bad..."
Eobard subconsciously looked at Jack, only to find Jack looking at him curiously.
After a while, Reverse-Flash slammed the table.
"As expected! The experiment was successful!"
