Lucifer - I

The master said, "It was about 2 years ago."

Clear sky, grassy lands and strong sunlight filled the atmosphere with energy. On the grounds, men were training with their souls into it.

About 20 men were aligned in 4 lines. Each man kept a proper distance from others. They landed punches and kicks in the air. Each punch and kick held a meaning.

A normal person could not tell much from their style. But a pro-MMA player could easily tell that their techniques were not to be taken lightly.

The group of 20 men were instructed by an old man in front of all of them. Every man out of 20 faced the old man. The old man faced them all with his long swaying beard.

He didn't move at all. He only shouted out small phrases. Everyone moved in the same way with the same speed. The old man yelled at those who made even the slightest mistake.

Those who got yelled at replied, "OK, sir!!" Despite the criticisms, they faced from the old man, the old man gave wise advice to them. No matter how hard his voice was, his wireless was clear.

He was the master of Charles. After a minute of sweating sessions along with the regular training, they were dismissed. The student at the left back corner approached the master.

He said, "Sir, I want to graduate."

"Lucifer, it's your second month here and you've already jumped 8 belts. You are in the strongest group amongst all who train here. People take 8 years to reach the point where you are in two months. Are you sure that you want to graduate?"

"I'm not concerned with whatever you told me. I just want to join Interpol."

"But, graduation is especially hard. It is nothing near what jumps you've taken. It's too much. Don't stress yourself out."

"Sir, the course here is very easy, and I believe it'll only retard my current capabilities. I want it to be as hard as possible."

"I don't think you'll be convinced even if I try as hard as I can. When do you want to take the exam?"

"Now."

The master's faint happy smile changed into a stern, ruthless face full of malice.

"In that case, you'd better be prepared to die." The master didn't speak after that. A long minute of awkward silence followed.

Lucifer broke the awkward silence as he said, "What happened? Master? Are you there"

Suddenly, the master's clothes caught fire. The fire was green in colour. The green fire slowly spread all around his body. He began howling as if he felt no pain.

Lucifer looked up. The sky had a hole. Yh3 moon was visible from that hole. He noticed it as he thought, "It's broken. And the full moon just had to be there. I'm dead now."

Without wasting any moment, he ran away. The fire caught the grass. The grass burning everywhere behind him. He could not look back. If he did, he'd die.

The beast was chasing him. And the fire seemed to originate from it, let alone give the beast fatal wounds. A door was far in front of him. He ran towards the door.

Click! The door was locked from behind. The door was in the middle of the grasslands. He reached the door and kicked his way through the door, breaking it in the process.

Behind him was the grasslands and the clear weather. But he was in the middle of a passage. In front of him was a long way. The beast was about to reach him. He looked around him and quickly found a button beside him.

He pressed the button. A door emerged from below and blocked the beast right on time. He gasped and finally started breathing. He breathed heavily and sat down. He was in a passage which went straight forward as far as his eyes saw.

The passage was narrow enough to fit only one person. At his left and right, above and below him, everything was steel. Both the width and height of the passage were made for one person to just fit in while standing.

He could not go behind. The door had no locks, or you could say it was not possible to open the door. It was standing behind him like a strong wall. He stood up and walked forward.

After 30 minutes of quick walking, he reached out of the passage only to find another. It took him 3 hours to get out of the maze roads. Good game for a detective, but he didn't like it at all.

After getting out of the passages, he was standing on another passage. But this passage was not one of those maze ways.

At his right was a golden door. At his left, was the control room. Straight in front of him was the entrance to the training grounds. Yes, he was inside the Interpol Training Grounds Ka.

He entered the control room. A woman was sitting on the chair in front of the 9-screened monitor. Her eyes moved as fast as lightning. She was able to look at every screen almost at once.

Her concentration was deadly. She said, "Lucifer, why are you here?"

"You know why I'm here. But how did you miss a hole in the ceiling of the backyard?"

"You know cameras can't look everywhere. I don't know what hole you are talking about. But, if there is a hole, that explains the sudden transformation of Misaki."

"What's that transformation of his?"

"It's a curse he got from an ancient demon. It activates when it's full moon. You don't need to worry about such matters. So, are you done?"

"When are you free?"

"Never."

Lucifer thought, "She's as stern and direct as ever. How should I ask for a date if she has no time for me."

She yelled, "Get outta here! Don't disturb me!"

"O-ok, I'll go. Don't get your temper high. You'll get wrinkles in a year or 2. And I don't wanna see a young lady like you walk with a wrinkled face."

"Oh, is it? Before you worry about me, you have a lot waiting for yourself to worry. Go to the entrance. You have a test. And it's not as easy as before."

"For me, it was always easy. I don't care what it is. I'll just pass it and get outta here."
