Chapter 19

The carriage went to a Manor, it wasn't that large. The area only has about 2 kilometers. Other powerful Nobility Clan and Organizations has much bigger place than this. Just the Sternix Clan itself has a bit more than 1-kilometer Manor even though they are just a weak clan

Overall, the size was not befitting for a City Lord, however one cannot judge the City Lord's home just by its size. The area has at least three times more mana than other places. This is not due to some formation or treasures but a natural one. And this was for the entire Manor and not just some special places for cultivation

Along the way there were many servants and mages that they passed by. All of those people didn't dare get in the way of the carriage as the carriage itself showed what kind of status the people inside have. The servants are at least Magic Apprentices Level 9 while there were Magic Warriors here and there

The manor made Magic Warriors to looked like some random cabbages as the numbers were quite high. It's not surprising though as the more mana a place has the easier it will be for cultivation. The mages in the manor will find it three times easier to absorb mana because of its abundance

The area itself has three times more Mana, what's more if they build a special cultivation roon inside? It can go to more than five times of mana in normal places! It was too absurd no wonder why there were many Magic Warriors present

The Magic Knight stage Mage personally opened the carriage's door for Kence and Calter. He may show arrogance to the Sternix Patriarch but he won't dare do that to these two even though they are like ants that can be smash to death easily. The City Lord instructed him to escort them respectfully, he won't dare disobey. Just one spell of the City Lord was enough to reduce him into ashes

"Please follow me" The Knight said and lead the way. The two silently followed behind the mage. Along the way Kence were looking at the place with amazement on his eyes. Whether it be the designs or the structure itself all of it were much more sophisticated than the Sternix Clan's Manor. He can't help but feel amazed

What made Kence even more amazed was the lively mana particles around. To a Mage any place that has large amounts of mana was a comfortable place! Mages love mana and the more mana a place has the more beneficial it is to them

Calter was not that amazed, he has a status comparable to the City Lord in the past he naturally saw and experienced many things.

"In the future I'll make a place more beautiful that this for you" Calter said to Kence confidently. The Mage wanted to snort but he stopped himself. No one can blame him though, this is the home of the City Lord. Even the City Lord put a lot of effort and resources in building it, how can a young man confidently say he can make not just a manor comparable to this but even more beautiful? It was a joke for the mage

"Then I'll make one for Big Brother in the future too" Kence joked as he thought that Calter was just kidding him. He doesn't know that Calter really meant it and will make one for him when he gained enough strength

Calter knew Kence thought he was joking which made him anticipate Kence's reaction when he actually built one. 'Hmph, just wait when I become a Rank 3 Mage' he thought

"Then it's a promise. We'll make one for each other on the future!" Kence giggled and jokingly nodded his head

The three walked for a few minutes while all the servants who saw them bowed respectfully at them. They made a few turns before they arrived at a heavily guarded room

Just the guards alone are at the peak of Magic Warrior Rank while the strongest one was also a Magic Knight. Even then, their status is lower than the Mage and they all saluted before opening the door

They entered the room and Kence was confused as he thought the City Lord would be there and the room will be large. The room however was only about 10 meters large with a formation on the floor

On the Mage's hand a blue token appeared that he put on the middle of the formation and the ground move revealing a set of stairs. They can feel the coldness even though they were just standing on top of the stairs

"The City Lord is below but the place is extremely cold. Please wear this" a set of ice blue Magic Robes appeared and floated into Kence and Calter. They wore it and the mage lead the way again and descended they down on the stairs. The deeper they got the colder it become to the point that if they were not wearing those robes the cold would already be unbearable for them

Even with the magic robes protecting them they still felt extremely coldness. After arriving at the bottom of the floor all they saw was snow and ice.

"A special underground snow plain?" Calter thought and he was shocked. The universe is extremely mysterious. Inside or outside human territories there were all sorts of mystical special places

A snow land underground was not that unbelievable place to have but it was still a place that will make Rank 3 Magicians to kill each other. Even among Rank 3 Mages, this is an above average place. Ice Magicians would kill to have a place like this

From what Calter knew, the City Lord was quite weak among Rank 3 Magicians. If others were to learn this place it will endanger the City Lord's life. So only those he trusted will know this place. The guards outside might not even know what they are guarding

"To think the City Lord will let us see this place" Calter was in disbelief. Although he saved the City Lord's life but he won't necessarily let Calter know this place

A special place like this has valuable naturally born items or creatures. A dream of all magicians!

"Just what is the City Lord's purpose of letting us know this place?" No doubt that if other people saw this place the City Lord won't think twice before killing the unlucky person. But Calter was not afraid though

The power of vowing in God of Order's name was not something to be underestimated. It was mysterious and too powerful. There were bound to be some loopholes but it was extremely hard to find one! For example, in a normal agreement of no killing, someone can still suppress or made other people do things without directly saying it. But when one vowed through the name of God of Order things are different!

Anything that the City Lord think will harm Calter and Kence was something he cannot do. If he thinks hinting someone to kill the two will harm them then he can't do that.

"Could it be...?" Calter immediately thought of something. The City Lord might think he has some powerful background or secrets that's why he can help cure the poison. Since the City Lord can't harm him then it was best to befriend him

Someone with a background or some secrets to know a way to heal someone from Vicious Toad Poison was bound to be someone not simple. This might be the City Lord's way of befriending them when they were still weak. If the two become powerful then owing a favor was not something easy to do

The three has a peaceful journey as no creatures attacked them. Calter judged that the underground snow land was as large as the entire City Lord's Manor. Possibly the reason why he decided to claim the land as his

They stopped in front of a huge Ice Magic Tower. Its quality was better than the one back at the academy. But from ancient records this was still not a true Magic Tower. A power beyond imagination was needed to make and control one

Even Rank 3 Magicians are not qualified. But of course, it still has better functions than the ones back at the academy. And for the present Enchanted Star Realm, this is a true Magic Tower!

As soon as they stepped in front of the tower a powerful force surrounded the two and gently pulled them inside where the City Lord was located. Although the force meant no harm it still made Calter to frown. He doesn't like the feeling of helplessness as if his life was on the hands of other people

This is one of the main reasons why he pursued the truths of magic, to control his own fate!

"HAHAHA! Welcome, welcome!" A voice reverberated inside the room. It was full of joy and happiness. Although it will take maybe around a month to fully heal the City Lord but it was enough to make him very happy

Calter looked impassively at the City Lord while Kence was looking at him with both fear and adoration. The force maybe gentle but it was too powerful! Kence knew he can't make even the slightest resistance in front of that force

"Greetings City Lord!" Kence immediately said and turned to look at his master who didn't paid respect to a powerful being. This made the City Lord to be taken aback but he realized his mistake

As Calter helped him with the poison he naturally investigated the youth. Calter was a trash before and only practiced for a few weeks yet he's already a Level 3 Magician. That was not the most surprising thing though, with his connection the City Lord learned the incident of Calter defeating a level 5 Magician

That's a difference of two levels! A single level in Magic Apprentice Rank might not be as large as the difference between Magic Warriors, Knights, or Grand Knights but still not many people can do that!

Geniuses can also fight mages two levels higher than them but that was a hard fight. From the reports, it seems that Calter easily defeated a level 5 Magician as if he was just playing with a kid. How absurd was that?

As the City Lord was not a stubborn and close-minded person, he decided that it was best to have a good relationship with a mysterious genius like that. Geniuses have their pride and doesn't like other people holding their lives, his actions must have made Calter dissatisfied

Fortunately, the City Lord was not someone that paid particular attention on strength and status. He actually dislikes people treating him too differently just because of his power. Sure, he won't let other people offend or harm him but he doesn't like people fearing him too much

Instead of being angry at Calter it actually made him appreciate him even more.

"Hahaha! I'm sorry for my actions. That was too insensitive. Let me apologize by giving you this" the City Lord said and a golden drop of liquid appeared. The liquid has large amounts of sunlight energy but instead of being insanely hot it was only warm. A comfortable warm at that

"Sun Dew?" Calter said in shocked but then sensed that it was only the lowest level of Sun Dew but to Magic Apprentice this was a treasure!

There were different levels of Sun Dew suitable for the different cultivation bases. It has the effects of purifying the body and strengthening it. The purer a body the more mana they can hold!

Just look at Calter, since he has ten times more mana it made him easily defeat higher level mages. His body can still hold ten times of level 3 Magic Apprentice because humans' mana limit was set at the peak of level 9 Magic Apprentice

To break through one must have stronger and purer body, magic comprehension, and enough soul strength. This was the reason why a lot of humans were stuck at the peak of Magic Apprentice

It was only a matter of time to become a peak Magic Apprentice but the hardships will start at breaking through in Magic Warrior Rank. Sun Dew can help that!

The lowest level of Sun Dew was enough for a Magic Apprentice to not worry about making their body purer and just needs to work on the soul and comprehension part. Even the lowest level of Sun Dew was extremely precious as they are rare

This one might only be useful for Magic Apprentices but there was almost no market for it. Only large auctions will sell one once in a while. It's not that it was too precious but the problem was there was almost no supply!

Even Rank 3 Magicians can only have one by sheer luck and they almost can't directly find one!
