Prologue Part 1

"Maybe if i look behind me, no, just black." I've been wandering for what feels like an eternity in this endless inky blackness. Looking down, i once again confirm that i no longer have a body, probably for the best, i don't recall being very happy with my body as it was.

Right, time to figure out how i got here then, Okay so i was born i know that probably happened, then i have some vague but embaressing childhood memories, i remember school, recieving an education up to university. I was studying Criminology, not really sure why if im honest, i was on my second year, at home i decided to leave my house to buy something to drink then nothing. I also recall my old appearance, a 'slightly' overweight ginger with below average features and an overbite, yeah being a disembodied consciousness has to be better than that.

If i'm being honest, this whole situation resembles those reincarnation novels and fan-fics i spent most of my life reading, where random guy gets killed but somehow and for no reason gets given an overpowered ability, usually a system, and is sent to a fictional world where they quickly either destroy the canon for their own amusement or simp after the protagonists. They usually remember dying though, dont they?

"Wouldn't know, Much to busy." A voice that sounds exactly like joy feels says

Well thats fair enough disembodied voice, wait what who the FUCK said that.

"Rude, i only answered your question."

"Sorry? I guess? Not really sure whats going on at this point, if i had a body i'd have slapped myself to try and wake up."

"Perfectly understandable, dying is a very confusing experience, But this endless blackness as you described it is known to the gods as the reincarnation void"

So i'm dead, im going to ignore that for as long as i can, wait how long has this voice been watchi-

"Since you got here, 5 minutes ago, you honestly are not the patient sort are you. Anyway now the pleasantries are out of the way, down to business." As it speaks the voice morphs into the way anxiety feels, before swiftly returning to the sound of joy. "But first, context, when a soul dies it goes to the good place or the bad place, the names vary based on beliefs, but in a lot of cases a soul is nothing special, like you, in that case its a coin toss, half of them go to limbo the other half come here where an automated system reincarnates them with some minor benefits, this is so that we the gods have some entertainment, honestly about 95% percent of gods place bets on how people live their second life, the other 5% are the bookies, so as you can imagine its a big deal."

"Okay."

"I am here, because of a minor system error resulting in the automated system not working for you, and to give you your compensation, you get 10 extra points for spending when the system comes back online which should be right about now."

1 awkward second.

2 awkward seconds.

3 awkwa- Suddenly a bright blue screen with a list of worlds appears in front of me, "Well thats all see ya never little soul."

Reading through the worlds, i can see just about every single fictional world i'd read or heard about from anime, tv, movies and novels.

So. Where do i want to live a life, nowhere immedietly dangerous, but ideally somewhere i can experience magic and adventure, i was always a fan of harry potter fan-fics don't know why, so i select Harry Potter from the list.

Immedietly after 2 more lists appear, with a small box on top reading 20/10 points to spend, guess thats what the voice meant by bonus points. Spending what felt like hours but was probably only minutes to understand these two lists.

The list to my left is demerits, things that will make my life more difficult in exchange for more points to spend on benefits, the right list is benefits which cost a range of points to improve my experience in the next life. Scrolling through the benefits list i find what every weeb wants when reincarnating the system section of the benefits, reading through the various option i decide on The Gamer System because the first 2 skills are, lets be honest, kinda OP. That sets my points to -80/10 so im gonna have to take some kind of demerit.

Looking through i find, what i believe to be the most benefical demerit called Wrong Boy Who Lived, it changes the world so that you are the younger brother of the Boy Who Lived, who is in actual fact not the child of prophesy, i think its a demerit because it makes knowledge of canon less applicable while also forcing dumbles into a manipulative role.

I Have more than 500 points at this time from just that one demerit, no clue what else to get aside from maybe the generic super talent and so-on. Scrolling down to the very bottom of the list i find the most expensive option 'Creation of an entirely unique skill within the multiverse within the 1st week of life'. This, this is what i want but, cant afford it so going back to the demerits i find one that adds a whole lotta points, 'You are not the child of Prophesy', so basically im just going to be harry potters little brother, still should be interesting.

I am 1 point short of the unique skill, this is somehow worse than any fate hell could inflict upon me.

Scrolling all the way up to the top of the list i look through the 1 point demerits, they are almost entirely things that just make life a little inconvenient, like not getting memories till you are 5, needing to wait to gain your system. Reading through them all i find an odd choice 'Be born as the opposite gender'. I mean as choices go theres no drawback from being able to practise i'd just be a girl, im going to pick this simply because women are typically underestimated and who doesnt live a bit of wuxia style face-slapping.

With all of my choices made i select confirm.

A Synthetic voice speaks in my mind "Reincarnating into {HARRY POTTER WORLD}, Location {GODRIC HOLLOW} Chronology {NIGHT OF VOLDEMORT'S ATTACK}"
