Chapter 1

Third person's POV

How can someone without a heart love? How can someone without emotions feel? He had fallen in love, but only from a distance could he love her. Her smell, voice, smile, and laugh did a lot to him, and he lost all control of himself when he saw her. This was his first love, and he was falling deeper for her and always dreaming of being with her. When does a cold lord think like that? Oh, are you surprised? He's a cold lord, why is that? He has an intimidating presence, a cold attitude, is an observer, and is 22 years old with an IQ of 156, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and can speak seven different languages.

He has a tall, muscular, slender figure with striking green eyes that could send one to heaven and back, along with a perfectly shaped nose, mouth, and chin. He's a mixed breed, with a Korean mom and a Spanish dad, and is the only child of his parents. He's good at everything and loves basketball. His name is Ryan Sooho Diego, currently in his second year at NILE University, studying computer software engineering. He comes from an influential family that owns Diego Kim Groups Limited, which dominates almost everywhere in Country X. One thing about him is he loves his privacy.

Meet her, Liela Downs, a rich girl whose parents own a famous hotel named Downs Luxurious Resort. She has pretty black eyes, heart-shaped lips, a slim, perfectly curved body, long black hair, and fine nails. She's nice, caring, stubborn, and thick-headed. She loves painting, reading, and playing piano, and she's 20 years old, currently studying English literature. She's like a dog who never lets go until it bites.

The story begins

Ryan was seated on his comfy office chair, throwing tennis balls into a dustbin ten meters away from him and lost in thought. His room was empty, with two big luggages beside the bed. A flawless woman walked in wearing a Versace beaded suit worth $15,000, with green eyes, a pointed nose, and heart-curved lips, and an elegant body shape. She looked like someone in her 20s, even though she was in her mid-40s. Mrs. Kim Hyein looked at her son.

Ryan's POV

당신이 무슨 생각을 하고 있나요? ("What's on your mind?") she asked, looking concerned.

아무것도 없어요 ("Nothing,") I said, hoping she wouldn't press further.

가방 싸기 끝냈어요? ("Are you done packing?") she asked.

네 ("Yes,") I said, and soon after that, she left. I sighed and turned to pick up a picture frame. My face lit up as I saw her pretty face. I have missed you, Leila. Life is boring without you, and I really can't wait for this to end. I dropped the frame and took out a note, opening it to reveal March 19, 2023. It's time to go back to the past.

The past

March 19, 2023

It was a sunny and busy day as we freshmen were resuming today. Lectures were starting soon, and an orientation program was happening. I was wearing a white Givenchy shirt with black denim jeans and Yeezy sneakers, along with a black nose mask. I heard a woman instructing everyone to line up, which I knew would only make the process long and stressful.

Everyone was pushing their way to the front line to get into the hall. I saw a lady assisting a woman with cleaning equipment and found myself surprised at the act. I watched her cute lips part and smile at the woman, and I found myself mesmerized by her pretty eyes. I had never felt this way for a woman before. Turning away, I went to the line, and as expected, it was long and frustrating. After what seemed like eternity, I was seated in the hall.
