The illusion of the weak

To all those who had heard the actual recording in political theory by renowned professors, they carried little weight. The capital and resources employed were largely left out from the excess gathered from leftover of the society. The Khonrur had long ago left the want or need for knowledge, it was a fool's errand to waste time learning when instead the advanced technology did not ever demand such efforts. One could easily attain all of it's desires without a drop of understanding. Knowledge had long ago fallen into the realm of sport and fun.

So when Khane learned that there was actual importance given to public opinion once upon a time he just couldn't wrap his head around it. There was no need for it. It was like intricately designing sand structures which could never stand the test of time.

'It is fine if you don't understand what this is about. There is no need for trying to answer everything. For now just remember that there could be issues if the general public found out about what could be of Trucia'.

The overlander smiled dimly. It had already perceived that there would be difficulty in people to understand concepts which seemed redundant due to their childish nature. However, it seemed quite contrarily that there was a much better chance of gaining new knowledge that way.

"President, Make arrangements for departure, This ship will not survive the voyage."

The President agreed telepathically. It seemed as if it was rude to actually talk to the overlanders through speech. Maybe it was only being friendly with them.

All of a sudden the grand walled in world suddenly collapsed and they found themselves staring into a dark city.

"We don't have any need for light." The being said calmly. "I know it may be a bit unnerving, but honestly it was just wasteful".

The dark advanced city didn't really consist of towering skyscrapers like back home for Khane. In fact there weren't any buildings at all. It was merely an blanketed network. There were some glows every now and then from various points in the entire city, but they didn't create any substantial meaning to this form. The overlanders had instead just covered their city in darkness and fog. It wasn't a sensation to Khane but it felt oddly cold in his heated and ventilated suit.

The city was a black mass of the most dense network of technology ever conceivable. It constantly whirred and buzzed internally. Femtochips were the backbone to this development, or maybe something even deeper.

The overlander smirked every now and often. It was silently in a tranced state. After a couple of moments. It calmly announced: "We are ready."

After the Trucian exploration. This was the first time ever that Khane felt worldliness. As if the actions that he was to carry out would matter.

He calmly questioned:

"Why should we destroy Trucia?"

This didn't feel like it was a good idea. The President gave him the look as if he had just committed the greatest atrocity imaginable. No scratch that, it was beyond imagination.

The Overlander for the first time looked as if it was severely displeased by the question. It seemed to be reconsidering sending Khane.

"If you must know." It replied. "It's for safety."

"The safety of the generations to come. Why would we want to destroy the greatest piece of ancient engineering. Why would we want to remove traces of the past which is far more glorious than any written tale." It took a pause.

"For the sake of the God Emperor that is."

Khane knew better than before, so he didn't question.

"In the past Trucia was a part of the Overlanders' civilization. It thrived, far more than we thought actually. It was a great world a developing world. Back when trade still meant something and there was a reason to look up to the day tomorrow, Trucia used to be out capital."

"About a hundred million years ago, or so. Time doesn't really mean much for our distance does it? The Great Supreme Emperor of the Khonrur settled it. Though it wasn't long before it's fate was sealed though."

"Trucia was a sacrifice from the beginning, Khonrur guardians long ago had decided to use it as a means to an end, that was the entire reason that Overlanders managed to form, out of the Supreme Emperor's kindness and Trucia's resources."

"After it had become such a sprawling center and had managed to survive a couple of thousand nuclear wars. The true worldview was exposed to them. Manyone had arrived. We still have very little knowledge of what it was. It was just an event of importance impossible to determine. Deaths meant nothing. All the power of the greatest capital of the world the strongest might ever meant nothing."

"After all these years we still aren't close to reaching the amounts of power that Trucia held. It is safe to say that shall the world know this it will fall into chaos."

"The Illusion of strength is the greatest power of a great world. When they are exposed to their true weakness. They will no longer be on a path towards development, but head straight towards the terror. If you even have the faintest idea about the horrors of the great Trucian Suffering you will be destroyed, both by yourself and by our greatest assets. This is an information hazard. The mere act of knowing this information puts you in danger and we can now not send you back to your world. It is not possible for us to let you go."

"We ran away last time from Trucia and shall need be will run away again there is no pride in being dead."

Khane faintly felt the cracks appear in the scenery he saw. Darkness folded into itself in some absurd fashion and the faint outlines of the city collapsed into an infinite ball. The last words he heard before being jerked was loud and clear.

"Let the illusion persist and let the world exist."
