Chapter 01: The entrance to the tunnel

Spring, the pink petals fluttered everywhere slowly descending to the ground, that spring would be the turning point for a whole group of students, an event would happen that would mark them all in some way but for one person in particular that day would be a harder change.

Evan, that was the name of one of the most popular young people in the school and it is not because he has money or has the best appearance but simply because his attitude is different from the others. For Evan interacting with people was almost like riding a bicycle, he could fit in everywhere, everyone treated him like a friend.

"Everyone stay close, especially you Evan, don't get distracted by everything you see" That Wednesday in April, all the students of Pollux high school were on a school trip, the teacher in charge always had an eye on Evan who used to be unpainted in some matters.

"Don't be afraid teacher, Evan will be close to me, I won't let him move from the group."

"If Elizabeth says so I'm a little calmer, she's the only responsible one in the whole classroom, I thank all the gods for allowing her to attend in my classroom" Taking Evan's arm was his girlfriend, Elizabeth. A girl with dark hair in a long, bushy ponytail, fine black eyes, fair skin, a wasp waist and a smile that was simply perfect.

Anyone who looked at Elizabeth even once would be in love with her, her beauty was unparalleled and her fame was just as great, a model of great impact among the media and simply unattainable for everyone except Evan, both have been boyfriend and girlfriend for as long as they can remember, they started as friends and as time went by, as they both grew older the feelings became bigger and bigger to the point that both simply became a couple. Many tried to seduce Elizabeth but she was devoted to her love and simply refused anyone.

"we are all grateful teacher" one of the more distant students responded in a subdued tone "but the fact that Evan is in the classroom doesn't allow us to enjoy every kindness, not that we hate Evan but it's just unfair".

The teacher scratched her head with a pitying smile towards her student, the fact that she could say those words in front of everyone showed her disgust but at the same time her fearless personality, the fact that the words had no bad intentions made it more obvious her feelings as well as those of all the male students present, they had their 'goddess' so close but at the same time they had the biggest barrier in front of them.

"It's cheeky to say such words when you're dating Ellen, Mikoshiba" Evan didn't stay silent, he hugged Elizabeth from behind and put his head on his girlfriend's shoulder to look at the jealous boy "you should know that Elizabeth is just from me-"

"it's not good for you to tease Mikoshiba, you know Ellen broke up with him a few days ago because of you" Elizabeth silenced Evan with her comment "Ellen was after you for a while now and used poor Mikoshiba to get closer, but when she knew that no cheating would be possible she just broke up with Mikoshiba, she threw him away like a toy"

Every word was like a stake driven into Mikoshiba's heart, Evan wanted to tease his friend but watching him being humiliated was even more painful.

Everyone in the room knew that Mikoshiba was thrown aside because of Evan, of course the latter was not to blame for Ellen falling in love with him, it just sometimes happened, it was normal in Evan's life....

During noon all the students took a lunch break, Evan and his friends sat at a circular table.

"Are you sure everything is okay Mikoshiba?"

"Yes, she's just a girl like any other, in a few weeks I'll find another one but I'll make sure not to be with her in front of you, I don't want the same thing to happen again" Mikoshiba leaned back on his arms as he slightly dipped his head.

"next time you have a girl myself I will make sure to make it clear that Evan is my boyfriend and they can't take him away from me no matter what I do" Elizabeth interfered from across the table "so you won't have to worry about being the plaything of other girls" they all laughed when they heard Elizabeth's comment.

"your girlfriend really doesn't know the meaning of tact" Evan laughed when he saw his friend's expression, he was right but it wasn't something he could change out of nowhere.

When they all finished eating they moved as a group to the next point in the tour guide and it was also at that moment that it all happened. Evan looked to the side as they walked, Elizabeth was talking to her friends and Mikoshiba was answering messages on her phone to who might be his new girlfriend.

"What's wrong Evan?" asked Elizabeth as she saw Evan stood back looking off to the side.

"something feels out of place" said Evan, the whole resort had several people and they themselves were all together, it wasn't normal for there to be so much silence out of nowhere but no one seemed to care.

Evan felt some screams in the distance and broken glass, when out of nowhere the wall next to him shattered into pieces and a school bus appeared.

Everyone screamed from the surprise, some responded faster and moved to the side, others fell to the ground from shock, but Evan had an even more incredible reaction, Evan's body moved to the side and pushed Elizabeth along with everyone nearby to the side, away from the impact zone of the bus but at the same time leaving her body exposed.

"Evan!" shouted Elizabeth extending her arm.

It was for a small fraction of time but Evan could see the yellow metal of the bus approaching, he closed his eyes waiting for the impact.
