Livin' Free : A One Piece Fanfic(HIATUS)

~Umiko POV~

I open my eyes and looks around, only to find myself in a waiting room of sorts. Confused as to how I got here I try to remember what I was doing before I got here. Thinking back, the last thing I remember was getting hit by a truck that seemingly appeared out of nowhere while she was crossing a road. 'Wait am I in a hospital?' she thinks to herself and then proceeds to check on her body, 'hmm.. I feel totally fine. OH! Maybe I was in a coma or something. I wonder if any new one piece episodes released...'. Suddenly her thoughts were interupted by a person opening the door in the room, "Hello Umiko-san please follow me, Izanami-sama is waiting for you" the women in a white dress said to me. I was confused but in the end I decided to go along with her.

She leads me out of the room and walks down the hallway and enters a lift and go up a few floors and then into a garden where a kind looking man with long black hair with grey streaks in the sides was watering the plants.

When we reach him he turns towards me and says, "Ah Umiko-san pleasure to meet you, now I'm sure you have a lot of questions so why don't we take a seat and I'll clear all your doubts okay?" I nod at him and he leads me to the centre of the garden where there was a table and two chairs.

After sitting down the man whose name I'm pretty sure is Izanami says, " So Umiko-san I'll get right to the point, You are dead." hearing this my mind goes blank and then I burst out laughing and as my laughing stops I ask, " hahah.....So Izanami-san this is a prank right I mean how can I be dead, I'm standing right in front of you and talking to you right now." Shaking his head he replied, "No Umiko-san I'm serious. You're dead and we are in the god's realm right now."

"Wait WHAT? Then are you saying that you're a God? Oh no you're Izanami as in Izanami the God of Reincarnation aren't you?" I ask. "Yes ma'am thats me." he replies while giving me a toothy grin, "and you are here because you've been given a chance to reincarnate to another world because of the good karma you got in you last life." he finishes.

Sad and excited at the same, I ask him, "So..do I get a few wish or something." to which he says, " Yes and don't worry you can choose when and where you want to be reincarnated without using a wish and you can also choose your appearance too if you want to.". After thinking for a while I decide on what to wish for and tell him," Okay so I want to reincarnate as a girl who looks like aqua from KonoSuba and is 4 years older than luffy. As for my wishes I want the Mizu - Mizu no mi, conqueror's haki and I want to be born as a 16 year old in an island in the first half of the grandline where I can train haki."

He smiles at my requests and says, "hmm... smart thinking, okay I'll grant these wishes. You will wake up in an island and ill give you some basic items for living like a shack a bed.etc..well anyways I hope you enjoy your second life." He then waves his hand and a blinding light appear and when it is gone i find myself in a bed.

I look around, and see that I'm in a small shack with the bare essentials to live, like a toilet, a tiny kitchen with few utensils but i don't see a bath so I guess I'll have to find a lake or something. I go outside and find a small garden with some vegetables and a few small trees with fruits as well. ' Well I guess he's done his part.' I think to myself and I start walking around the garden and notice a fruit on the ground that looked different from the others. A smile creeps up to my face as I realise what it was and pick the fruit up. The fruit had waves of light and dark shades of blue going around it and a greenish brown stalk. I ran inside with the fruit and sat on my bed. It was mentioned many times in the anime on how bad it tasted so I hesitated a bit before eating it. The first impulse on eating the devil fruit was it spit it out immediately and vomit but I resisted the urge to do so and swallowed it. A fee moments later my whole body started to feel relaxed and comfortable. It was like I was free of chains that were bound to me for years. It was liberating.
