Chen Yeliang suddenly woke up from his dream and looked at the lecturer who was lecturing seriously at the lectern.

He pinched his face hard. Strange, what was that noise?

Chen Yeliang rubbed his eyes vigorously. The transparent blue display panel in front of him made him feel like he was seeing things.

Raising his head, Chen Yeliang looked around at the bright and clean classroom. He had only been in university for a week, why did he have to say goodbye to the beautiful world so suddenly?

Chen Yeliang took a deep breath and slowly exhaled to calm himself down.

What was the use of this useless palliative care boost? At first he wanted to wait and see if the system would announce any self-rescue missions.

In the end, he stared blankly in the air for ten minutes. The system seemed to have gone into sleep mode.

At this moment, the lecturer at the lectern caught him not paying attention, and the bespectacled eyes revealed his obvious displeasure.

Trying hard not to laugh, the curious onlookers stared at the lecturer then back at the student. They wished they had a pair of eyes on the back of their heads.

"You!" The lecturer covered his mouth, face red with mortification. He was speechless with fury.

Chen Yeliang had heard of this lecturer before.

He did not tolerate students skipping classes, his attendance roll call felt like authorities checking on household occupants. Everything in the textbooks were important for year end exams. He was notoriously unforgiving. If he caught hold of any students' shortcoming, he would fail them without a second thought.

But Chen Yeliang did not care anymore. He did not even know if he could stay alive till graduation.

He felt as if his soul had left his body. Dragging his weary body, he walked unsteadily out of the hall.

All the students in the hall were dumbfounded! This unbelievably fearless student embarrassed the lecturer and walked off so casually. They could not help but be curious about his motive.

But when they realized the price of being fearless was failing the subject, the students looked at Chen Yeliang with some sympathy in their eyes. Afraid of being penalized by the lecturer, they then kept their heads low and pretended not to see this farce.

Chen Yeliang walked aimlessly along the corridor.

When he thought about the clock ticking down on his life, he no longer had the strength to continue walking.

He came to a bay window nearby and flopped down on it, sighing endlessly.

At this moment, he caught a glimpse of a small figure standing at the top of the adjacent laboratory block.

The strong winds at the top of the building caused that person to sway unsteadily. Her long black hair fluttered in the wind. It looked like a girl.

Chen Yeliang narrowed his eyes and watched as that person slowly climbed over the chest-high boundary wall. She walked to the concrete ledge outside and stood still there.

Chen Yeliang recognized her. She was the school belle of Huashang University—Lan Sixi!

Lan Sixi was not surprised that the person in front of her knew her name.

During the school term opening ceremony, she was the representative of the freshmen, and gave a speech in front of the whole school.

Chen Yeliang broke out in a cold sweat on hearing this. He pinched his thigh and repeatedly reminded himself to stay calm.

"But at least tell me the reason."

He sounded rather heartless.

Chen Yeliang smiled and said, "Since you are going to die anyway, no harm in telling me the reason, right?"
