Karin looked back at her friends, concern etched on her face. "But why can't everyone see or hear these Hollows?"
"It's because most people don't have spiritual awareness," Kai explained. "Only those with a certain level of spiritual power can perceive Hollows and other spiritual beings. Your brother, Ichigo, has this ability, and so do you."
Karin frowned, her mind racing as she tried to process this new information. "So, what do we do now? How can we help?"
Kai looked at her thoughtfully, considering her question. "For now, focus on understanding and controlling your powers. It's important to be prepared in case you encounter another Hollow or spiritual threat."
Karin nodded, her eyes filled with determination. "I understand. I'll do everything I can to be ready."
"Talk to your brother first, he probably won't want you to be in these things." Kai shook his head, he was too lazy to deal with Ichigo and his drama.
Karin's eyes narrowed, her determination unwavering. "Fine, but I'm not going to stand on the sidelines if my friends and family are in danger."
Before Kai could respond, the atmosphere around them suddenly shifted. A heavy pressure descended upon the city, causing everyone to shiver involuntarily. The air felt oppressive, thick with a sinister energy that made it difficult to breathe.
"What's happening?" Chizuru gasped, her voice barely audible as her body trembled in fear.
Orihime looked up, her eyes widening in horror as she saw a giant rift opening in the sky above them. Within the rift, a massive creature slowly emerged, its grotesque form casting a dark shadow over the city.
"It's a Menos," Kai whispered, his voice strained with tension. "One of the most powerful types of Hollows."
The others stared at the Menos in shock, unable to comprehend the sheer scale of the threat they now faced. Orihime's voice trembled as she spoke. "Can we even fight something like that?"
Tatsuki clenched her fists, her eyes blazing with determination. "We have to try. We can't let it hurt anyone."
Kai's mind raced as he weighed his options. If he joined the fight against the Menos, he knew he'd likely be discovered by the Soul Society. But if he didn't, he wasn't sure if Ichigo and the others could handle the powerful Hollow on their own.
His thoughts were interrupted by Karin's urgent voice. "What do we do, Kai? We can't just stand here!"
Kai took a deep breath, steeling himself for the decision he knew he had to make. "Just ignore it. It will probably go away."
Orihime and Tatsuki looked at him in shock, while Chizuru and Michiru fell to the ground as they heard him. Karin was looking at him dumbfounded.
"What do you mean 'ignore it'?" Karin asked, her voice incredulous. "That thing is huge and terrifying! How can you just expect us to ignore it?"
Kai scratched his head sheepishly, feeling the weight of their stares. "Uh, well, I didn't exactly mean it like that..."
"You are not being lazy again, are you, Kai?" Orihime asked with a pout, crossing her arms over her chest.
Tatsuki came and hugged his arm, her eyes pleading. "Please, Kai. Save people."
Kai sighed, knowing that there was no avoiding the responsibility he had. The fear and concern in his friends' eyes were enough to make him realize that he couldn't afford to be careless. "Alright, alright. I promise, there are strong people in the city who would not let something like that do as it wishes. Nothing will happen, but if push comes to shove, I will go and battle."
The girls looked at each other, their expressions a mixture of relief and doubt. "Are you sure, Kai?" Orihime asked, her voice still trembling slightly.
Kai nodded firmly, his eyes filled with determination. "Yes, I'm sure. Trust me, we'll be fine."
With that, the group steeled themselves, preparing to face the threat of the Menos. They knew that this would be unlike any battle they had faced before, but they also knew that they had no choice but to confront it head-on.
As the Menos continued to loom overhead, its massive form casting a dark shadow over the city, the oppressive atmosphere it brought with it intensified. The air seemed to grow thicker, making it difficult for the group to breathe, and a sense of dread settled over them.
When the giant Menos opened its mouth to fire a Cero, Kai's heart raced, and he tensed up, ready to leap into battle if necessary. However, much to his relief, the Menos didn't target them. Instead, its attack was directed somewhere else in the city. As the massive energy blast shot through the sky, the group watched in terror, wondering what could possibly withstand such a devastating attack.
Kai released a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding, and soon, as he had predicted, a giant slash cut through the Menos vertically. The powerful blow seemed to come out of nowhere, catching the Menos by surprise and causing it to howl in pain. The enormous creature staggered, then retreated back through the rift it had come from, disappearing from sight.
"Hahaha!" Kai laughed heartily, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Didn't I tell you?"
The others stared at him, still in shock from the sudden turn of events. Orihime, her eyes wide and her hands shaking, managed to find her voice. "K-Kai, what just happened? Who did that?"
Kai grinned, his confidence restored. "I told you there were strong people in the city. That was probably one of them."
Tatsuki stared at the spot where the Menos had vanished, her face pale. "That was insane," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "I've never seen anything like that before."
Karin, her eyes filled with a mixture of awe and fear, turned to Kai. "You were right," she admitted, her voice trembling. "But who could possibly be strong enough to do that?"
Kai's grin widened as he playfully ruffled her hair. "Like I said, there are strong people in this city who won't let a Menos do as it pleases. Don't worry about it."
Chizuru and Michiru, who had been huddled together during the entire ordeal, slowly regained their composure. Chizuru, her eyes filled with tears, choked out a laugh. "I can't believe we survived that."
Michiru, her arms still wrapped tightly around her friend, nodded. "It's a miracle."
