Ashley Hamilton is a 28-year-old engineer. She was invited to the wedding of her cousin that will take place on an island. On the island, Ashley met a girl in a very unusual encounter, named Iara Owen. Iara is a mermaid, who’s looking for her first love. When mermaids fell in love, they are giving everything to the person that they love. They are swearing their love and even willing to offer their lives for them. Because of this when the person they love left them, they are experiencing heartbreaks that can even kill them. Mermaids have 5 years to find their love, to find their heart, or else the overflowing sadness will kill them. Ashley and Iara hate each other at first but soon became close and Ashley even had decided to help Iara in looking for her first love. Since Ashley's break-up with her last girlfriend, Catalina, Ashley had decided to just focus on her career. She had experienced three heartbreaks already. The first-ever girl that she loved cheated on her with her friend. The second girl that she loved left her for a guy. The third one chose her first love over her. Because of those heartbreaks, she loses interest in the word love. She never hated it but isn’t seeing herself falling in love again. She realized one thing, she was never the main character. She had never got to write her own love story but always just helping the person she loved to find the person that was really destined to be with her. Ashley, despite suppressing her feelings, saw herself falling in love for the fourth time with Iara Owen but again, she isn't the main character. She's just in the love story of Iara to help Iara find her first love. She's just a supporting character, again.
