Chapter 17: pills

A fragment of comprehension of the Dao was the final award from the test, it was a treasure that would surely be useful to open up the mysteries of the Dao.

The spirit said making something, probably in a sort of inventory, appear out of thin air."Sun Law Chamomile, it's a herb that can ease up the enlightenment in the sun law. It can also be used to ease up a break through the transformation realm and its minor stages.

The best way to feel the effects of the herb would be to brew some tea with it, as you would be able to feel the sensation slowly. Even a simple tea of this herb may be a painful experience normally, but as you have a yang body I believe you would not have such a problem."

Jahdiel carefully brewed some tea and was able to complete his understanding of the Sun law. Then, he started to prepare more Red Homunculus Pills. With all the six pills he needed. Jahdiel sat in a meditating position while he made a formation with himself as the center and the six pills around him, then he recalled his secondary laws.

While on meditation he could feel the pills as a second limb and the formation increased that effect, so he slowly imprinted his laws understanding onto the pills and they broke true to the peak of the law stage, he started to gather more qi and they broke through the transformation realm; as Jahdiel concentration reached the peak, he made all pills open up their domains, and merged their body with their domains making them finally reach the spirit realm, as he gathered more qi he made the pill reach the peak of this realm.

'How can he make it so fast? I would expect him to take longer even with that formation. Oh, I see this new formation with strange materials and several laws included, gave him a small enlightenment in the law of formations, but I think he did not perceive it yet.' the remaining spirit thought.

Then, Jahdiel prepared to swallow the pills one by one. He started with the law of endurance because he thought he would really need it to complete the whole process. After swallowing the pill, he felt a terrible pain, which he could only hold onto by sheer willpower.

He felt like his body was being destroyed and build anew. After the pain passed Jahdiel perceive great chances in his body his muscles became denser, his joints became more flexible and finally he felt that his body could refill itself with qi faster. His body cultivation also went from the Fourth Realm Stage IV to Stage VII.

Then, Jahdiel swallow the good intent pill, the process was less painful and faster, and he felt like he sort of became lighter. It was by far not enough stimulation to make his body cultivation breakthrough. He proceeded with the swordsmanship pill. He felt a slight pain and felt his body become sharper like he was a sword in the form of a human.

Then, he swallow the archery pill, barely feeling any pain, but he felt his body becoming very flexible and he felt like his aim accuracy increased, although he did not test to confirm this. Then he swallow the spearmanship pill, he felt himself getting taller, a bit sharper, and his reach increasing, like he had become a living spear. After that pill, the stimulus was finally strong enough to make him break through Stage VIII in body cultivation.

Then, he swallows the sun pill. Jahdiel thought he would feel some burning sensation but only felt a bit warmer. He felt not like a living flame, but like living plasma spreading vitality. The pill was enough to make him break through Stage IX in his body cultivation.

"I never tried much to obtain enlightenment in other laws. I think I should not miss this opportunity to get some understanding of some more law, if senior help it would be easier" Jahdiel said.

"Fine, which laws?" the spirit asked.

"I fought with a cultivator which seems to use the law of mountains, if I record the incident well it may help me to understand this law. I think understanding the laws of heat and light may be easier with the law of the sun."

"Not fire?"

"Yes, not fire."

"I was taught with using a treasure to forcefully break through the sun's law, you may have not been able to see true the true nature of the sun, which would lead to a shallow law. As you have seen the sun is not a flame. As an alchemist, I know that even if I do not know much about it as the sun is not my law.

The sun is quite a strange thing, most that break through this law use forceful methods. I'm glad you understood it well, not only understood by feeling as people in this world usually do with the laws. Trying to break through fire law with sun knowledge would be quite the waste of time."

"I also thought of learning the movement with swordsmanship, archery, and spearmanship laws it would surely be easier. I would also like to finish my understanding of the formation law, maybe doing that formation again may help. I also thought of the luck law, but I have no idea how to reach it and no law that seems closely connected." Jahdiel said.

"I have something that may help with the luck law, but even that it would be mostly luck for you to learn it's even a yang physic only give a very low affinity to it, but I have one condition." the spirit said.

"What condition?"Jahdiel asked.

"As the inheritor of a dao alchemist, you should at least reach the alchemy law." Li De said.

Jadhiel scratched his head and said:

"Yes, master."

At first, the spirit did not think of demanding his inheritor to have the law of alchemy or pursue it as a secondary law, only if they have an affinity to it; having an inheritor with the law would depend on his luck only; but seeing as his successor seems to learn law like a walk in the park, he decided to demand that.

He took a week to understand completely the law of mountains, as he slowly remembered his fight with someone with that law. After a week more, Jahdiel got enlightenment in the laws of heat and light and understood them. Another week and he got enlightenment in the law of movement.

"I hope you do not go back on your word about understanding the law of alchemy. This is what I promised, a hundred leaves-clove. Jahdiel first absorbed the pill of mountains and felt himself getting heavier and the air less dense. He felt that his body cultivation was nearly breaking through, but he held it back.

Then, he decided to absorb the law of movement pills, he felt no physical change only that his body became more concentrated on its small movements and on the things around him, even light. The law of movement was a complicated thing it went from the concrete physical movement of one's body to the nature of vectors.

Next, he went with the law of light pill, the sensation of becoming light for a second was surely strange. He followed with the heat pill he felt his body become hotter, much more than with the sun pill before, but in a less burning and painful way, it was like an increase in temperature less harmful because the sun law felt like a bath of ionizing radiation.

Next, he went for the alchemy pill, it was a strange sensation like he had become laboratory equipment. He felt like he was nearly breaking through even without divine qi, but that would be a bad breakthrough, so he held on.

Finally, he went for the luck pill, he felt nothing exempt that things become easier somehow. He decided to make something a bit risky, while his body was assimilating the law and his luck spiked, he remembered the law of formation and started to comprehend more of this, his understanding of using the formation a second time had not been enough.

He at the same time imprinted the law on the seventh pill, and he was able to complete the pill law and absorb the luck pill. He only had to completely refine the formation pill to his realm which he did, and then absorbed, it felt like his body formation, but much better.

Finally, he took the divine qi essence, which the spirit gave him, and made two pills he needed the double of divine qi to break through both cultivation and body cultivation. He absorbed the pill, and finally, he did not need to hold back and could break through, which he did.

He entered the demigod realm Stage I, but he felt his body quickly absorbing the qi around and evolving his current qi to a divine one, so after a while his cultivation stabilized at Stage IX.
