Fixing the multiverse using tech!
I look at the woman in front of me in confusion. She has white hair and golden eyes. Her face is flawless and beautiful beyond reason. Her badonkers are also big, the biggest I have ever seen. The last thing I remember is a bright light and an intense pain before darkness engulfs me. And the next thing I know, I am in this place.
"Let's get down to business, shall we?"
I look at her in shock.
"You did not want to tell me about this place first?"
"This is the void, Limbo, the line in between. Done. Take a seat, and I will tell you the reason why I call you here."
I shrug and take a seat in front of her. After I took a seat, she gave me a folder.
"My name is Verlia, and I have an offer. Here. Read the contract and sign it. If you agree to help me take care of the world, I will give you a second chance in life and a very powerful ability."
"What kind of help do you need?"
I open the folder and read the paper inside.
"The multiverse has gone to shit. Some dickhead decide to make all the multiverse under my watch into a fucking Dark Multiverse. They do not know that doing so will create an imbalance in the Omniverse and get our Omniverse into a purge."
I stop reading when I hear that and decide to tone it down. Omniverse. Multiverse. That is something my human brain does not need to understand.
"I managed to turn that decision around, but there are still a lot of worlds that need to be taken care of before the Dark Multiverse takes effect and destroys that world. The main character died before their times, humanity goes extinct, or worst, get enslaved by a fucking mind-controlling rats."
Yikes.
"I really want to delete that universe, but it will be too bothersome to recreate it. So that is where you come in. You will be my problem solver and take care of the problems around the Multiverse. Don't worry. It will not be a permanent job. You can go free after seven jobs. Of course, you can continue your job if you want to, and I will pay for it. What do you think?"
I put down the paper and looked her right in the eyes.
"You make my Isekai Adventurer into a job interview."
"What? It is more efficient like this. I like being direct because I still have a lot of work to do. So? What is your answer?"
"Of course, I will join. My previous life is not good enough for me to ask for you to send me back."
"And I will not offer that option. You are dead fair and square. I did not have anything to do with your death. The only reason I call you here is because of your knowledge of the world you will be sent in and your alignment."
"Right. Right. Anyway, I accept this assignment."
"Good. Go, good luck, and make sure to have fun. I don't want a worker who is depressed."
I nod and see her snap her finger. I can feel light engulf me, and a second later, I stand in front of a mirror inside a room. I look at the mirror in front of me, and I can see a handsome man with white hair and purple eyes.
Is this my body? She is kind enough to give me a new body, huh? A handsome one at that. From my memory, I know I am now Alban Sterling. I am a freshly graduate hunter from a second-rate academy.
I shake my head and sit on the chair in front of the mirror. This world is Remnant, where Grimm rules and two immortals wage war from the shadows. However, more importantly, this world's Gods abandoned this world and left the people to survive alone.
And that is what makes it a problem. According to Verlia, this world is doomed to destruction after the death of the main character. Team RWBY and JNPR are dead when the invasion happens. The Grimm manages to steamroll the entire Vale and kill millions of people.
From then on, the world gets thrown into chaos and worsens when it starts to crumble. Without its gods and the main character, the world had no anchor that held it together. The result is the world loses its atmosphere, and all living beings are dead.
And that is my mission in this place. Make sure that team RWBY and JNPR survive the Siege of Vale. I have two years before the event starts and can prepare for the incoming siege.
And time is something that I need because of my power. What is my power? Inspired Inventor, a very powerful ability that let me get a Tinker Specialization. What is a Tinker? They are humans with the ability to create alien tech from an advanced civilization. Not only that, but all of their tech is black-boxed. What does that mean? It means no one can replicate it even when they have all the resources and watch you doing it from step to step in slow motion.
However, Inspired Inventor is different. Usually, a Tinker will only get one specialization, but with this power, I will be given five charges that I can use to get a new specialization or increase that specialization to make it more powerful.
For example, if I put one charge into energy, I can create an energy turbine that is so efficient that it produces ten times more energy than anything ever produced back on Earth. However, if I add two more charges to this specialization, I can make a machine that produces a lot of energy from one milliliter of biofuel. That is how powerful the charges are.
And I get five charges every week.
I close my eyes and enter my imaginary space within my soul. I can see five miniature suns floating in the void, floating, ready to be used.
Verlia is kind enough to give me knowledge of how to use this power.
I move one of the suns and absorb it. A second later, a massive amount of blueprints and ideas appeared inside my head. I smile a little and get up. I know where I need to start. As a Tinker, resources are my biggest hindrance, and I need to buy or gather some.
Because of this, I need to do something to gather some funds for my project. I already have an idea. I decide to put some charges to create a specialization called [Software]. With this, I can create games or even an AI to help me create the game. Sadly, one charge was insufficient to allow me to create a full AI. However, it can let me create VI (Virtual Intelligence), a program that is just steps away from AI. It can help me create a character, gather information, and even create music.
This world is already depressing enough, and it needs some joy. Games are something that can raise the morale of this world. The money from selling the games will be great as well.
I walk toward my computer, a computer that looks like it came from a sci-fi movie from my previous life. I take a deep breath and start to make the VI that will help me.
