Unequaled, Unrivaled
In this world, there are bloodthirsty creatures and monsters. Power beyond that of mortals called “Qi” flowed rampantly throughout the globe. Beings of all kinds harnessed these powers and used them for good. . . And for evil. To humans, maybe the danger wasn't the beasts, but themselves.
Eien was always quite the lethargic and apathetic child. As the son of the village chief, he was expected to take over his father's position. Instead, this pressure made him feel trapped and burdened. He would often sneak out into a nearby grove to be surrounded by nature. He would take care of the animals and become somewhat like a tamer.
One fateful evening, on another one of his escapes, he saw black smog rise into the air. He ran towards the periphery of the forest and saw the village in flames. It's destroyers were high above the sky and on the ground below. Man and beast clashed in a furious battle leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. With both parties sustaining life threatening injuries, the man channeled one last attack. The world shooks as Eien was blinded, when his eyes opened all that he could see was absolute carnage.
In his helplessness he fell to his knees. Eien's eyes moistened, he had took his happy life for granted. Despite the duty he had to take, he loved his village, and his soon to be citizens. He loved it's festive mood and the joyous air. He suddenly heard movement in the forest behind him. Spinning around an unknown creature lunged towards him. It covered his face like a ball of goop, seeping into him. He clawed as his face trying to get rid of the substance as he was attacked by an excruciating pain. His body convulsed and eventually settled down, his breathing ragged. Standing up he looked down upon his used-to-be village. He demeanor had changed, he was now firm and resolute.
He traveled into the razed town, and packed his bags. Taking all that he could from the rumble he set his designation towards the horizon. His eyes were filled with a look of determination.
"To have peace in this world, one must have strength."
"To the strong, the weak don't matter. So, I shall become strong, stronger than the strong. And I will trample them under my foot."
Fire as bright as a raging inferno burned within his red eyes. His path began here, and to his final breath he swore that he would face all in his way. To rise to the top, in honor of all that had lost along their journey.
