I turn off the TV and click my tongue as I finish preparing for college, finals are killing me, and I'm running out of money from my last job. I close the door of my apartment and head to catch the train. Not without first placing an ad online renting a room in my apartment, I need the money.

Once on the train, a group of high school girls sit next to me as they chat with each other.

"So you heard about the recent suicides?"

"Yes… How scary!"

"Yesterday the traffic was paralyzed for hours because someone jumped in front of a truck"

"A friend told me that a few days ago there were also cases at train stations"

"My father is a policeman and he told me that it is possible that it is a new sect"

The high school girls' conversation is interrupted by a voice over the train's speakers.

I just sighed as people vented their frustrations, I guess I'll be late for college today, when we get to the station we disembark and I'm on my way to the bus stop.

I'm patiently waiting for the bus like everyone else around me. Since when did my life become so monotonous? Who cares, I heave a heavy sigh when a scream in the distance draws my attention and that of the other people. I watch with open eyes as a person across the street jumps in front of a truck and pushes a child from being run over, unfortunately, the person died instantly from the impact he received from the truck.

The driver of the truck gets off in a daze while clutching his head with both hands "He threw himself in front of the truck, you saw him" The driver said nervously.

"Another suicide..."

"He threw himself in front of the truck screaming"

"I am already calling the police"

I hear the assembled crowd talking about the person they claim committed suicide, this doesn't make sense he saved a child from being run over by a truck.

"Where is the child? Didn't you see the boy who pushed him out of the way of the truck?" I yell at the people as I gulp and check under the truck, thank god there is nothing under the truck.

"What are you talking about? That person jumped in front of the truck, everyone saw it, there was no child" Said the truck driver.

"Poor thing must be traumatized by witnessing this unfortunate scene." Said an old woman.

"It's true young man, this person jumped in front of the truck" Another random person answers me.

This can't be happening… I saw it with my own eyes I swear there was a child but no one else saw it except me…. I'm going crazy? Are exams and lack of money taking their toll on me? My thoughts are interrupted by the sound of police sirens.

I hurriedly walk away as the police cordon off the area and stop traffic. I need to get to the next bus stop, I am walking briskly for a few blocks when I feel someone bump into me, causing the other person to fall, this person was just a little boy now lying on the ground on his butt with a spilled ice cream cone next to it.

"My precious chocolate ice cream is now ruined" Says the boy with tears in his eyes

"Oh fuck… don't cry… I'll buy you a new one just don't cry…" I'm not going to buy his anything. After all, it was his fault he bumped into me, I just want his to stop crying, I can't afford to spend what little money I have left. I stop when I take a good look at the boy from top to bottom "Wait a minute, you're the boy who almost got hit by a truck minutes ago."

"Huh, what are you talking about sir?" Says the boy standing up while wiping the tears from his face.

"I know what I saw, I'm not crazy, a few minutes ago a person saved you from being hit by a truck streets back and you fled." I knew I wasn't going crazy, suddenly a chill ran through my whole body and I couldn't move, the look of the boy made my heart panic.

"Then you saw me... that shouldn't happen" Says the boy talking to himself. "You are a mistake and according to the rules I must kill you" The boy hums while my body continues to tremble. Kill me? What the hell is he talking about? and why am I so afraid of a small child.

The boy begins to take something out of his pockets when my survival instinct takes over my body 'I'm scared, I don't want to die, I have to live'. I clench my fist with all my strength and swing forward, this makes the boy's eyes widen in surprise, I guess he didn't think that he wouldn't let me kill easily. My fist connects with the boy's face causing him to fall several feet back groaning a little.

Oh shit, did I kill a kid? No, wait...he's moaning, he's alive. The commotion caught the attention of people on the street.

"Hey, what are you doing to that child!"

"Damn bastard come back here!"

"Catch him attacked a child"

"Call the police"

"Child, are you alright?"

Without thinking twice I ran for my life from a crowd of people who want to hit me for attacking an innocent child according to them, the damn child gave me the scare of my life I thought he was going to die, he deserves it.

That's why I hate children.
