He leaned in further and kissed her forehead. Electricity rushed through his body and he felt his lower member react. He pulled back quickly and laid his head back down on the pillow. "Why are you so irresistible?" He muttered to himself as he stared at the ceiling. A light knock was heard from the door and Calder quickly adjusted to the tent he had pitched. "Come in." He said in a low voice.
Rutley walked in with a food trolley and spotted the two. Calder raised his index finger and placed it against his lips. Rutley nodded his head and placed the food trolley to the side of the night stand. Rutley then gave Calder a small smirk as he wiggled his eyebrows. Calder's face turned beat red. He wanted to throw another pillow at Rutley's face but was afraid of waking Lady Syria. Instead he shot Rutley an icy glare then flipped him off with his free hand.
Rutley laughed lightly as he left the room, completely dismissing Calder's gesture. Calder relaxed the moment Rutley left. The food was covered well and would stay hot for a couple of hours. He listened to Lady Syria's soft breathing and sighed. He then closed his eyes and leaned his head closer to hers.
Sleep took over slowly but Calder savoured every second he spent laying beside the one he loved.
By the time Lady Syria woke up the sun was setting outside. "Did you sleep well?" Calder asked as he sat in the chair Lady Syria was sitting in before. Her face turned beat red, they had switched roles and she was acting like the patient laying in bed. Calder smiled as he placed the book he was reading on his bed side table. "They food was delicious." Calder said as he watched Lady Syria's face closely.
"Was it really?!" Lady Syria shouted in delight completely forgetting that she was embarrassed just seconds ago. Calder burst in to laughter at the sight of her beaming face. "How can you doubt your own skills?" He asked in between laughs. Lady Syria stared at Calder in awe, her eyes sparkling with wonder.
"Well?" She asked as she kept up her stare. "It was very delicious." Calder said after he calmed down. "What was your favourite part?" Lady Syria asked as she leaned forward. "All of it?" Calder said as a form of question. "Don't be so vague! I want constructive criticism." Lady Syria said with a pout as she got out off the bed and leaned further towards Calder.
"Sorry. I really did like all of it. I actually had another two bowls after I had finished my first but if I have to give you some sort of criticism... well you will have to wait. I need you to cook it personally before I can really say anything about it." Calder said in a teasing tone as his eyes started to waver. He didn't know where to look as he gulped back saliva.
He tried his best to play it calm and cool but Lady Syria was too defenseless. She was leaning in too closely to his face that if he looked down he would see the perfect mounds peaking from under the collar of her dress. However he also wanted to stare at her beautiful face. He was in an awkward situation and Lady Syria was none the wiser.
Lady Syria started to smile. Calder didn't know why she was smiling but he could feel himself getting hotter. "What's wrong your highness? Is your fever coming back? Your ears are pretty red." Lady Syria said as she reached out and touched his left ear. Calder slumped into his seat, avoiding further contact and trying his best to not melt under her touch. Lady Syria couldn't help but laugh. "You have the most unexpected reactions!" She said as she grinned.
Calder couldn't help but feel annoyed. She was teasing him and had the upper hand. He quickly fixed his posture and caught Lady Syria's waist. She let out a small scream as Calder pulled her towards him making her sit on her lap. In her momentary daze Calder wrapped his arms around her and hugged her tightly.
"Are we picking up our seduction lessons now?" Calder asked in a low voice. Lady Syria shuddered. "No. I'm giving that up." Lady Syria said as she laid her head on Calder's shoulder. "What?! Why? How can I-um-cough, cough, cough, what made you change your mind?" Calder asked as he coughed to mask his real question. "I don't feel right using you for something like that." Lady Syria sighed.
"But I want you to use me." Calder said as he furrowed his brows. "But I don't. Your, Calder, do you know you're actually a really nice person?" Lady Syria said as she watched Calder's jaw clench.
"I guess you didn't. Even though all of that happened, you never took advantage of me. Even now when I fell asleep in your bed. You could have had your way with me but instead you read a book and watched over me. Not many men can do something like that." Lady Syria explained. "So because I didn't have sex with you... I'm a nice guy? You should really raise that bar of yours or else some bad man will trick you." Calder said as his voice started to turn cold.
"Even now you're thinking of my well being!" Lady Syria laughed. "I'm being serious." Calder said in a threatening tone but Lady Syria smiled. She lifted her head from his shoulder and looked him right in the eyes. "So am I." Lady Syria said with a giant smile. Calder admitted defeat and hung his head in shame. "So how will you become queen now?" Calder asked.
"I'll follow your advice." Lady Syria said as she slightly bent downwards and tried to look into Calder's face. Calder refused to lift his head and Lady Syria cupped his face with her hands and gently lifted it upwards. "I will still need your help though." Lady Syria said with a a gentle tone. "You still need my help? You won't throw me away?" Calder asked pitifully.
Lady Syria slightly gasped and could no longer look into Calder's eyes. "I-I-I still need your help. I need you to taste some of my cooking. I'm thinking of doing a mock picnic and if you approve the food maybe I can get your broth-his Majesty to go on a picnic with me." Lady Syria said as her cheeks started to glow pink. "... Alright. You can make all the dishes your proud of then. My brother will eat anything. We can go tomorrow around lunch if you want." Calder said with a gentle smile.
