A Step In The Right Direction

Irene felt cold after Henry left her proximity so suddenly since they were caught kissing. While he contemplated, her eyes searched his face for a reaction. Her worst fear was him saying they should slow down or stop what they were doing. 

"I can trust Ingrid," Henry assured her. "But is it so bad if people find out? It's bound to happen eventually."

Irene stepped closer to him and she gently hugged him. 

"It's up to you," she said quietly. "It's more complicated for you than it is for me." 

Henry had always known that revealing he had a relationship was going to be difficult. 

Many wanted him to marry to strengthen relationships within Tenetium but he gave that up the moment Irene told him that she returned his feelings. There was simply no one else who could stir up his feelings like she could. Irene had him completely wrapped around her finger and he trusted her not to abuse it. 

He stole another kiss but held himself back.
