Xia Xin pulled out some disinfectant and bandages from her bag, treating Jing Mo's wound with meticulous care. "There you go," she said.
"Thank you," Jing Mo responded.
Then, with a frosty gaze, Xia Xin turned to Lu Shi. "If you don't want to help, that's one thing. But creating more problems? That, I just can't understand."
Lu Shi had initially felt a twinge of guilt; he hadn't intended for Jing Mo to get hurt when he took the knife. Just as he was about to apologize, Xia Xin's words ignited a fire within him.
"It's you people who are ostracizing me! I told y'all I was going to take a shower and help out afterward. You didn't want to wait for me, that's fine. But why are you sidelining me now?" Lu Shi exclaimed.
"When did we ever sideline you?" Jing Mo retorted.
"You've been sidelining me from the get-go. If you don't like this lady, then just send her away. Why push me away? I'm not responsible for her actions," Lu Shi insisted.
