Greyson Pierce was an ordinary man leading a life plagued by bad luck. His streak of misfortune finally caught up with him, and he met an untimely end. But death wasn’t the end for Greyson. Instead, he found himself reborn in a world that felt eerily familiar—a realm of cultivation, filled with powerful sects, mystical beasts, and ruthless cultivators. It dawned on him that he was now living inside one of the TV shows he had watched in his previous life. Equipped with only his knowledge of the show and a mysterious system that grants him quests and rewards, Greyson must navigate this perilous world. While the system provides aid, it is not infallible, and Greyson must rely on his wits, cunning, and a touch of luck to survive. In a land where only the strong survive, can the unluckiest man carve out his own destiny and rise to the top, or will his bad luck prove to be his undoing? Note: I do not own any elements of this story except for the main character. English is not my first language, and updates will be posted twice a week. I'm writing this for my own satisfaction, so please don't read if it’s not to your taste.

Chapter 1Chapter 1 : Greyson Pierce

Greyson Pierce jolted awake, his mind racing and his heart pounding. The sudden, disorienting shift from darkness to the dim light of an unfamiliar room left him gasping for breath. He sat up, his head throbbing with a fierce headache, as though someone had hammered it with a relentless rhythm.

He looked around, trying to make sense of his surroundings. He was in a small, simple village house that looked poor and unremarkable. The walls were made of rough wooden planks, and the space was sparsely furnished with only a few basic items: a worn-out straw mat on the floor, a small wooden table, and a rickety chair. The room smelled of damp earth and old wood, and the dim light filtered in through a small, grimy window high up on one wall.

A wave of panic surged through him as fragments of memories from his previous life flooded back—his mundane existence, the unlucky events, and finally, his untimely death. He could almost feel the chill of the accident that had ended it all, and his sweat-soaked body testified to the intensity of his fear and confusion.

"How... how did I end up here?" he muttered, his voice echoing strangely in the quiet room.\

He tried to piece together his situation, but the more he thought, the more his headache seemed to worsen.

When he opened his eyes again, his gaze fell to his hands and body. They seemed oddly small and out of place for an adult. His hands, usually larger and rough from years of labor, looked delicate and almost childlike. His arms and legs appeared slender, he looked younger than he should. The realization dawned on him with a jolt—his body was not what he remembered.

As he continued to inspect himself, he noticed something else: he was wearing clothes that looked like ancient Chinese attire, though they were tattered and worn, resembling rags more than proper garments. The fabric was faded and threadbare, barely clinging to his small frame. The clothes were a stark contrast to the refined appearance of the young man who had just entered the room, making Greyson feel even more out of place.

Desperate for answers, he scanned the room for something that might serve as a mirror. His eyes settled on a small bowl filled with water on the wooden table. With trembling hands, he approached the bowl and peered into the water. What he saw made his heart skip a beat.

His reflection was that of a ten-year-old child, with jet-black hair and striking red eyes. His face was round and youthful, a stark contrast to the adult he had been moments ago. The sight of his new appearance was both shocking and disorienting.

"This can't be right," he muttered, feeling a mix of disbelief and dread. His mind raced as he tried to understand how he had gone from a grown man to a child in a matter of moments.

The water in the bowl rippled slightly as he moved, reflecting back the reality he could barely grasp. His small, childlike frame seemed so out of place in this poor, rustic village house, adding another layer to the surreal nature of his predicament.

Suddenly, a blue screen appeared in front of him, causing Greyson to startle. The abrupt appearance of the screen made him lose his balance, and he fell backward, landing awkwardly on the floor with a thud.

His eyes widened in shock as he stared up at the floating screen, which seemed to hover just in front of his face. The screen was filled with bright, pixelated text that was both mesmerizing and bewildering.

The screen displayed a detailed status update, including an image of his new, youthful face along with various details

Greyson stood up, brushing off the dust from his clothes, and focused on the system window. He scanned the sections, finally settling on the "World" tab. As he did, a thought nagged at the back of his mind.

"Jade Dynasty? Why does that sound so familiar?"

His musing was abruptly interrupted as the door to the small, dimly lit room creaked open. Greyson turned to see a young man entering, dressed in an ornate ancient Chinese immortal cultivation costume. The man exuded a refined and powerful aura, his presence commanding immediate respect. He wore a longsword at his side, which gleamed even in the dim light of the room.

Following him were two children. who is almost same age as him .

"Ah, you're awake," the young man said, his voice calm and measured.

Greyson swallowed nervously, trying to process the sudden intrusion and the strange appearance of these new characters. As he took in the faces of the two children, an overwhelming realization struck him.

His thoughts crystallized into one grim conclusion: "I'm screwed."
