Burning Stage

A barrier had been placed around the stage to prevent the attacks from hitting random people, but it didn't stop a person's body from being flung out of the stage.

Rings of fire flew toward Max, and this time she didn't dodge them. Instead, she grabbed her other saber and began striking the rings, her blades sending them back to Lexus.

Lexus's eyes narrowed, not expecting Max to return his fire attacks.

"Those sabers," Kayena muttered, "they're not ordinary."

"That's what I thought. No ordinary steel could hit fire like that," Ace said, his eyes focused on the stage.

"The hilt of her sabers looks familiar," Lily added, her eyes full of curiosity.

With the rings of fire failing to even graze her, Max swiftly closed the distance between them.

In an instant, she was in front of Lexus, her saber flashing as she slashed at him. Lexus barely had time to raise his forearms in defense, blocking the blade just in time.
