London was watching a football game in the living room of Charlie's apartment when he heard a giggle coming from the room. He was curious to know who he was laughing with. What was so funny. His curiosity started a week ago when he heard Charlie at Joseph's house ever since then there's been secret phone calls and a new passcode in his phone. He got up from the couch hesitantly and quietly walked to the door. The soft squeaks on the floor board almost gave him away, finally he made it to the door after tiptoeing. He placed his ear slightly on the door he didn't need to do much since the walls were thin and he heard Charlie laughing

"Omg, Jo your hilarious!!! *giggle* where did you learn this humor *laugh*"

Who's jo? Why was he laughing with a person named Jo. London sat back down on the couch and started thinking to himself.

Maybe he has a new friend named jo.

Jo is code word for Joseph

OR-

his thought process was cut off by the sound of the door creaking open

"Oh hey London" Charlie says wiping tears from his face

"Hey. Heard you laughing.. who with?"

"Just a friend. Wanna grab some coffee?"

Just why did Charlie switch the topic so fast.

"Sure let's go."

The left to the nearest cafe a few minutes later

*at the cafe*

"So how's your day so far char?"

"Oh it's fine. How about you"

He says whilst texting something on his phone

".. it was nic-"

*charlie snickers*

"Oh sorry you said something?"

"Nope not at all.. imma go to the bathroom. Brb"

London left and awkwardly walked to the bathroom.

While washing his hands he looked at himself in the round mirror

"What is happening." He mutters to himself

He felt guilty, maybe it was karma. Karma for going in that date. Karma for standing Joseph up. Karma for being an ass. He pushed aside his guilt and calmly walked back to his table.

"Hey I'm back."

Charlie quickly turned his phone the other way

"hey I missed you."

"I bet you did." He whispers to himself

London got a quick glimpse at chars phone and by no shocker he was messaging Joseph that wasn't surprising, what was surprising is the name chosen for the contact "my Joseph 💗💗" was the name. He remembered his contact name only being

"lon🫶🏾" and he remembered how special that was to him. The rest of the day he felt glum. He was tired of all the secrets.
