When his childhood crush, Elara, announces her marriage to another, Mika’s last hope shatters.
Desperate and heartbroken, Mika flees into the dark forest of Gloomwald to escape. In a moment of loss and despair, he meets a beautiful black wolf. Initially terrified and fearing for his life, he soon realises it was just hungry. After feeding the wolf, they form a bond, and she becomes his first demon, whom he names Nyra.
As they roam through the forest, a pack of wolves similar to Nyra attacks them. In a desperate situation, Mika discovers he has inherited Nyra’s enhanced senses. Thus, thanks to Nyra, he survives after she slaughters the monsters to protect him.
Moments later, a dark mist flows from the slain wolves’ bodies and enters both Nyra and Mika, shocking him to his core.
Celestia is a golden light that allows humans and other races to grow stronger. Yoma is the name given to the dark mist that empowers demons after killing a living creature. This news meant that Mika was not human.
“I…can use Yoma on myself?”
Now realising he can grow stronger, Mika vows to prove that even a so-called failure can surpass those at the top.
