CHAPTER 1

DARIUS' POV

I walked out of my office leaving the minor Alphas stunned of course they are stunned by my speech, being a 23 year old alpha without a luna is shocking. And I am a 23 year old Royal Alpha with no Royal Luna meaning I have the biggest pack which I handle myslef without any help from anyone except my Beta and Best friend, Logan. And my Gamma and best friend, Peter alongside the female Gamma, Bianca. Our pack is the Royal moon pack and I am the leader of all alphas, meaning I have the looks, the girls and the leadership. I know I sound arrogant and I am proud I mean I am legit a dream for every girl. I never found my mate and at a point in my life I got too tired of waiting for her so no I am not a virgin and I am quite sure nobody cares about that aspect of my life because well... I am an alpha and I have no luna meaning I haven't been loyal to her but she might just be dead so that's kind of something that makes me feel less guilty.

I saw my beta, Logan in the woods and he was with my little sister, one of the only two people that get to see the softer side of me and not see the cold alpha side are these two. My little sister Isabelleis only 6 and I love her more than anything in this world. "hey darius!", she chirped, "Hey doll", I kissed her cheek, Logan smiled at us and I bro hugged him. "Anything specific you want to tell me Logie boy?", I asked him and he shook his head 'no' "I was just bringing Isabelle back from her arts class, she sniffed you up and wanted to say hi, little pup", he explained and I nodded.

"Hey baby!", I heard a shrill and annoying voice as I was talking to Logan, Logan and I winced, 'damn werewolf hearing' I thought to myself. I turned around to come face to face with my fuck buddy, she knew I don't do feelings it was just sex for me, a sort of stress reliever. Logan gave me a disapproving look and I glared at him, nobody approves of me sleeping around they claim my mate will be 'hurt' if i do sleep around and I like always don't give two shits. I asked Logan to take Isabelle home as I gave Natalie my attention, no matter how much I use her body the same rules apply to her as they do with anyone else, if she crosses a line she would have to face the same consequences. "Hey Natalie", I said coldly, "Maybe we could have some fun, it has been so long, ever since the requirements of those warriors grew you never came to me again", she whined. I slammed her against a tree and ripped her shirt open, I never did foreplay and she knew that, it was an understanding between us. I was just about to enter her when I smelled the sweetest scent ever, it was like lavenders and peaches with a little bit of a woodsy scent.

"What's that smell?", I asked Natalie, she furrowed her eyebrows, "Are you indicating that I smell?!", she exclaimed and I glared at her for raising her voice at me, seeing my cold glare she bowed her head in submission. I followed the sweet scent only to come at the border of our pack, there was no one here, I frantically looked around, the scent was close, very close. 'Could it be...?',my wolf Luciane began 'no' I scowled at him, he just doesn't understand that we don't need a mate. We are doing just fine on our own, we don't need anybody at all.

I saw a few sihouettes in the darkened night, I knew one of them was the owner of the scent, I tried to follow them but in my haste my head hit a low branch, last thing I saw were magical violet eyes before darkness consumed me.

I opened my eyes to find my family around me at the hospital bed, mom and dad held a look of concern and seeing me open my eyes Isabelle came and sat right next to me on the bed leaning into my side. Peter and Logan visibly relaxed too. "What happened out there son?", my dad asked, "I was with Natalie when I smelled something, it was like...", I tried to explain. I saw my father's once concerned look change to a stoic glare, why'd I mention Natalie again? My parents like most others never agreed with my player ways nor approved of them, especially with Natalie, Natalie's father was one of the most richest men in the pack not the strongest though, during my father's rule he challenged my dad for my mom and his title, the biggest challenge to an alpha is for their mate and obviously my dad was victorious, the only reason he didn't exhile Natalie's father is because one of our new pack members turned out to be his mate and she got pregnant with Natalie almost instantly, which made my sensitive and caring mom, the luna, give them permission to stay after convincing her mate.

"That scent you speak about, was it rogue?", Logan diverted the topic coming to my rescue, "NO!", I heard myself growl, everyone looked at me with surprise, heck even I was surprised why was I defending someone I didn't even see till today. I calmed down a little and shook my head 'no', they looked at me with confusion, "It wasn't foul or anything, so I am quite sure it wasn't rogue nor was it vampire or any other creature cause again, I would know if it was, this scent was, it was almost addicting, almost perfect", I described and they all looked at me like I was speaking a different language. "What if you were only hallucinating?", Peter my gamma spoke and I shook my head again, "I am sure there was someone in the unclaimed territory, I even saw purple-ish eyes, I was in the unclaimed when you found me right? that's where I saw those people." I told them and they all looked at each other in confusion, "We didn't find you in the unclaimed grounds", Logan spoke. "No, I remember clearly I went to follow the scent and ended up in the unclaimed where I hit my head on a low branch", I argued.

"Son let us all call it a night, it must've been a friction of your imagination, you have been working a lot lately, maybe its getting to you, you need to rest.", my dad slapped me on my back. "Mom, explain it to him I am not making this up there was someone there I swear to the goddess!", I exclaimed. "Sweetie, the facts are all against your oath to the goddess, if at all you did see what you claim you saw, people would need proof, and if it does prove to be dangerous for us we could double the amount of patrol, purple eyes as you said-", I cut her off, "Violet", she nodded, "Violet eyes as you say are usually witches maybe, so if the witches are planning anything at all we will be well prepared.", she said. "Mom you don't get it, they weren't the witch kind of purple they were striking violet, like fierce at the same time calm, like a harsh thunderstorm, disguised as a wind, they were soft violet eyes mama, they held no threat they were just... dreamy and I know I sound high as I say this but they were like magic mom they would draw anyone into them such that one would get lost in those pools of violet, nobody could just dream them, I swear nobody." I said desperately. She kissed me on my forehead, "I believe you okay? Now get some rest", she said in a tone that gave away the fact that she didnt really believe me.

Its just something about those eyes and that scent that I haven't been able to wash out of my memory since a long long time, I can't even work in peace, I tried to fuck Natalie, even that didn't work anymore and its getting tiring now, just to keep thinking about a scent and a person whose face I don't even know but it was hard to not.

"Please tell me you aren't obsessing over that dream of yours again?", My dad walked into my office taking me out of my daze, "No dad not anymore", I sighed, lying through my teeth, "That's good son because we are visiting the Trainers League today to recruit warriors and of course the Royal Trainer and Mission Commander.

My great grandfather started our pack with only 56 pack members whos descendants are now the elite families around here, then eventually mates and rogues joined our packs to enlarge it and we took in many smaller packs into our territory and now our pack is the biggest and of course the leading one. I can't look into the problems and necessities of all the members myself so I have deltas for each province and since the gamma trains only the elite families we need a Royal Trainer plus Mission Commander to train the rest of the families for any incoming threats and the same person will then if need be, lead with me in any battle.

The Trainers League is the place where everyone that wants to be the link between werewolves and other comunities are able to join in and lead our kind to victory and make peace in times of disputes. They are trained like Alphas and to be quite frank the person that trained them, Sebastian Black was actually my trainer back in the day. League Trainers further train RAW warriors meaning wolves from all over the world tarin here and return to their packs to train their packs, steal the Alpha title from their Alphas or become warriors in their packs and serve as loyal guards in times of battle. There is only 5 League Trainers, because they have been to the above and beyond just like me.

The above and beyond is the house of 'The Fate' she is the one that writes our destinies for the moon goddess, but to reach her house you have to go through the lost souls, which literally means souls that are lost, neither did they achieve heaven nor hell, these are often the ones that reject their mates, because thats quite rare the thing is rejecting a mate is pretty much impossible, you fall in love hard and its impossible to undo that.

So lost souls are the people that did reject their mates for whatever reason it is that they did, they turned their backs on destiny, and that is a sin, but if they haven't been the worst people other than rejecting their mates, they don't deserve hell either so they live in the lost ground, meaning they just run around attacking anyone from the world. And for souls, damn are they strong, broke 12 bones when I went there to take the Fate's blessings when I was gaining the title.

My dad's bestfriend and The League Trainers chairman, Sebastian Black, who was also my trainer, is the person that trained those 5 trainers. And we are supposed to go there to test their abilities and well see if they are worth the title and exactly how they would do this whole Royal Commander job.

Lets see if I can distract myself from those mysterious eyes...
