Chapter 31: Another messed up lunch

"We'll talk about it after you eat."

The kids obeyed their mother and eat silently. They occasionally exchanged foods, like carrots and such.

As they are silently and happily eating the door opened without the door being knock!

Erica almost shook on her food, fortunately there's a glass of water besides her.

She's so nervous when the door opened that made her almost shook!

Of course! If someone in the company found out that she have a twins, then she's doomed!

At least at the law firm nobody cares about her. They are more focus on their work, don't have time to gossip.

Specially now that the crime rate in their country is rapidly increasing!

She really don't want to give up being a lawyer. At first, she only choose to become a lawyer because of her friend, Lorie.

But as time pass by, she began to love her work. Seeking justice for those who needs it. Before, she plans to become a prosecutor.

But now...

"Daddy, come sit next to me!" Yelena said and pulled his father to seat.

"Daddy papa, Yelena is sorry! Yelena just want to see Mommy. Promise, next time... I'll listen to you!" The kid said and act cutely.

The worried Benjie, finally can breath in relief!

He lied to Ziv that the kids are with Erica.

Who would have thought that lady luck is with him!

"Next time? There's no next time!" Erica said and glares at her daughter.

She knows her daughter, using her charms to get what she wants... what a brat!

Yelena shrink towards her father and hide at his back.

"Daddy...Mommy is scary!" The little kid silently whispered to her father.

Her beautiful eyes are shining, tears are building up at the corner of her eyes.

"Don't spoil your, daughter! Ziv, that kid has been brat since you came back. Let me tell you, not because your Daddy is here you can do whatever you want. There's a limit to everything! Do you understand?" Erica can't help but to feel annoyed when she saw that her daughter is trying to gain sympathy from Ziv.

"Hey, calm down. She's just a kid." Even though he feel slightly annoyed, he still tried to calm down. Trying not to make things worse.

But Erica think the opposite. Their safety is her priority. Being careless like what Yelena did is dangerous! Especially that Demonic is the one who've seen them. Fortunately, they wear their sunglasses. If not, they must been recognized by now!

"Exactly! She's a kid. So, she need to learn this kind of things before it's too late! What she did is wrong, she apologized but she used her charms to be forgiven! That's not a good thing." She feels more agitated when Ziv tried to reason out.

"Well, knowing how to say sorry is a good thing already."

"Yes, it is. But her ways to be forgiven is wrong! Look, if you don't know how to apologize properly don't teach things to the children. It's basic manners yet you don't know!"

Benjie wanted to interrupt and say it's ok. But how can he oppose the dragon? Is he wishing for his own death?! Of course not.

He stayed silent as he watch the couple to argue, while the twins are silently listening to their parents. Sometimes nodding at their answers, sometimes they shook their head in disagreement.

It's a funny thing to watch.

It's like a two lawyer is fighting while the judges are silently listening.

While him, the criminal is enjoying every minute of his trial.

"Fine, but scolding too much can lead a child to think that you don't love her or care enough. You once become a child, so you should understand."

"Yes, I'm once a child but now that I became a parent, I understand now why my parents is strict with me. They just want me to grow fine and educated."

Ziv froze. Between the two of them, the parents topic is quiet sensitive and taboo. Their experience between their parents is their sour spot.

If someone wants to hurt them emotionally, the perfect thing to mention is their parents.

But since, no one really understand Erica's past except for those who watched and stayed beside her.

Only Ziv and his friends including Erica's friend knew about his past. Ziv past is much lighter compare to Erica.

But what they experience cause by one person. One family.

The Ventorbe.

Ziv never really accepted his father but for his mother he is trying to act calmly in front of him.

"Ok. This is enough. I'm sorry." Ziv apologizes to her and put down Yelena just to seat besides Erica.

He just heard his secretary said before that happy wife...happy life.

Erica just snorted and ignored him.

The five of them eat while chit chatting.

Ziv want to break his friend neck for not being so considerate to let them have a family time.

But since his twins is happy, he'll spare him.

"Ok, I know I'm disturbing you and I wish I can disturb more but my darling is going to chop me if I'll be late for our date! Good bye! Have a good time together!" She and Ziv just nodded and Ziv gestured him to leave!

He just chuckled at their reaction, while the twins are eating, like they didn't hear him at all!

"Kids, come here and give Daddy papa Benjie a kiss or hug! Whatever you prefer!" The kids put down their spoon and fork. They stood up to hug and kiss Benjie.

He laugh and bent down. He also kisses their cheeks and hug them. But only Yelena enjoyed it, Mirk on the other hand, is frowning.

"Ok. I'll you your favorite cakes when I'll visit next time."

"Bring your darling." Erica said teasingly and chuckled.

"Of course!" Benjie said proudly and laughed like a lunatic while he fixing his suit.

"Delusional!" Ziv said and smirk.

Benjie ignored him and stood up but before he could leave he stick his tongue out at Ziv and ran.

Ziv just smile.

In Erica's mind she can't help but to say... He is also delusional. Their group is a bunch of delusional.

It's true that same feather flock together.
