Heaven's Tribulation

When the Heaven Spirits descended, all that bore witness thought of it as a blessing. Only those that survived knew that it was a curse, shackles in place to monitor all beings within Heaven's Code, limits imposed to suppress all beings. Sheng Tian, who's talent transcends even that of the Absolute One, desires to break out of the confines of the Heavenly World and establish his own sanctuary. Will he fall facing the Guardians of the world? Will he stay true to his original intentions? Only time will tell. Operation Revision is underway! I will slowly but surely go back to my earlier chapters and revise them, using the experience I gained to patch up the holes. Any chapter that I have revised will be stated at the bottom in author's thoughts. Current progress: Chapters 1-10

Gold Spoon

After dropping off the servants Sheng Tian just picked up, Elder Wang controlled his flying treasure to fly to the Contribution Hall. This hall is located on the sect's main mountain, and contains all manner of techniques and treasures, that is if only one can afford any of it.

Whoosh!

Elder Wang landed in front of a massive pagoda with 9 levels, only this time he decided to guide Sheng Tian in instead of waiting outside.

Storing away his flying cloud, the elder led the way with Sheng Tian following close behind him.

Creak!

"Elder Bai!" Elder Wang exclaimed while cupping his hands in greeting.

The so-called Elder Bai looked at the intruders and smiled.

"Elder Wang! What wind blows you here today?"

The elder then looked at Sheng Tian following behind Elder Wang and immediately perceived his identity, at least what is known of his identity.

In retrospect, not much was known about Sheng Tian.

Sheng Tian stepped forward and greeted the elder, "Elder Bai, I would like to purchase some techniques and have a look around"

The elder nodded, for he knew that though most would not be able to afford anything here, Sheng Tian was most likely given a large amount of contributions by the sect.

"May I know how many contributions you have and what exactly you are looking for? That way. I can accurately provide you with the best advice"

Sheng Tian nodded, "I have 5,000 contributions and want to buy a high ranked cultivation technique suitable for women. Oh, and I would like to buy a sword"

The elder froze, "5,000?"

Heck, he had thought it would be somewhere around 1,000 contribution points, but to think it was 5 times that amount. The boy could buy everything he stated with no problem and still have quite a bit of contributions left over.

"I'm assuming the cultivation technique would be for your servants and the sword would be for you"

Sheng Tian nodded.

The elder pulled out a jade slip, waved his hand over it for a moment, before handing it to Sheng Tian, "Inside you can see all the things that meet your criteria along with the cost"

Sheng Tian scanned the slip with his consciousness and saw a myriad of cultivation techniques and swords. He first looked at the cultivation techniques that were tailored for women.

His servants would be more useful if they were cultivators, and although he has a lot of techniques that are a lot better than the ones found in the desolate mortal realm, they would have to prove themselves before he decides to give them better techniques.

After a few minutes, Sheng Tian settled on an earth ranked technique called the Icy Yin Method that cost 500 contributions.

He then looked through the swords and filtered everything out with a thought.

Weng!

Holograms of various swords with various sizes and shapes appeared in his sea of consciousness.

Sheng Tian's ethereal figure picked up the swords and swung them around, before setting them back down.

Suddenly, Sheng Tian saw a sword that he was drawn to, immediately going over and picking it up.

The sword was 3 feet long and had a black blade and jade handle, with gold dragon and phoenix patterns along the blade. Overall, it had an antique look to it and gleamed with incomparable sharpness.

Descending Dragon and Rising Phoenix Devouring Sword.

Rank: Spirit

Origin: Found in a tomb that was over 500 years old. Experts could not identify the material used nor who crafted such a sword. It was found to be indestructible, and possesses no other abilities aside from being sharp.

Cost: 500 contributions

Sheng Tian held the holographic form of the sword and showed it to Elder Bai, "Why does a spirit ranked weapon cost so little and why has it not been bought yet?"

His questions were valid, for the Spirit rank is considered the highest in the mortal realm and would be kept as an heirloom for any powerful sect. It would be weird for no one to buy such a thing at such a low price.

Elder Bai looked at the hologram of the sword for a moment before recognizing which one it was.

"This sword," he said, "Though indestructible and at the spirit rank, contains a weapon soul and chooses its own master"

He sighed, "No one has been able to awaken the soul and thus it is likely that its power is sealed. The sect master himself decided it would be kept here until the sword chooses someone"

Elder Bai then walked through a door and walked out a few minutes later, bringing out a beautiful sword in his hands.

"This is the sword. If the young master wishes to attempt to subdue it, feel free to try. If you do manage to do it this then the sword will be yours for free"

He handed the sword over to Sheng Tian who eagerly held the sword in his hand. It felt perfectly balanced as he swung it around, but something felt missing from it. Holding up a finger, the boy pricked it and let a drop of blood fall onto the blade.

Suddenly, a burst of red light could be seen.

Weng!

The blood was sucked in and absorbed, dyeing the blade a faint crimson hue. Light burst out of the sword and everyone in the room was blinded for a moment. When it subsided, Sheng Tian found the sword now floating in front of him.

"This. . ."

The elders were speechless at how effortless the procedure was. They had expected the sword to struggle and thrash about, but it was instantly tamed the moment Sheng Tian claimed it with his blood.

The sword now radiated with a light glow, exuding sharpness and power. Such a scene has never been seen before when others tried to tame the sword.

Elder Bai bowed while Elder Wang hurriedly sent the news to the sect master, "C-congratulations young master! Since you have tamed this sword I shall give it to you for free"

The boy smiled happily as he held his new sword, "I would like to see what techniques there are here"

Not daring to delay him, elder Bai gave Sheng Tian another jade slip and said "This contains all the techniques in this pagoda"

Sheng Tian looked through it for an hour and finally picked out 5 techniques. He gave his badge to the elder and light flew out of his badge into the elder's

"1800 contribution points have been deducted," the elder said a moment later.

When Sheng Tian got back to his manor for the day, all the elders who had met him today had the same question about this boy who was being fed with a golden spoon.

Who is he?

Double digits!
