Harry Potter: The art of divination

In 1972 Hogwarts receives a new and mysterious professor. The class of Divination was never the same after. The journey of Morpheus will be long and daunting can he finally reach his goal? - Au: there will be many changes to the world of Harry potter, such as some Gods will exist, and so will demons and angels. Not a Fix it fic, of course, some futures will change but the main focus will not be on fixing the future. SI: Mc is not reincarnated into this world Timeline: some characters might be younger or older disclaimer: So, most of this obviously belongs to J.K.Rowling. I'm just writing a fanfiction out of it. The cover art is sadly, not mine. ————- (P) (A) (T) (R) (E) (O)(N) LINK: patreon.com/Boogie324

singing stars

*Morpheus pov*

Soon after the welcoming feast I left to my room. I need to finish compiling all of the plans I have for this year. Some important figures in the future are taking my elective right now, even if they don't know it yet.

I want to remake the schedule for my third-year students, it will be the same material I taught last year to my students but in a different order that I think would be more cohesive.

I also want to convince Albus to add a very small lecture on synchronized casting to the dueling club. I know Filius and Yowie know how to synchronize cast and with me there nothing would go wrong.

Taking my quill I began to write a simple syllabus for each of the years I will be teaching. The seventh years will have a very small number of items to talk about and learn in each class but, those practices will be more detailed and thorough allowing for adequate studying time for exams.

I want the third years to gain a solid foundation and my fourth years to expand on their knowledge. Divination is not something easily taught as self-study is a key aspect of the magic.

As I've said before no two divinations do one spell the same. The small details and nuances are what makes your individual divination beautiful.

I remember when I was just learning divination, I would experiment with any small piece of information I could find on the topic. Those experiments soon led to me becoming who I am today.

As I finished the syllabus for every year I used the copy spell to make enough copies for each student. Stacking them in order I got ready for what I will do tonight.

It's a full moon and the stars are singing to me.

Taking my violin I disappeared from the castle and entered the forbidden forest. I could hear the sound of centaurs running through the forest as I neared the area I was to perform.

"What is it?" I asked the seemingly nothing

A Centaur appeared from the shadows before me, "You were asked not to come to this side of the forest Morpheus,"

I smiled brightly, "Magorian, you seem to be in good health,"

Magorian sneered, "It is funny when you say that it sounds like you are disappointed,"

I laughed loudly, "You know me so well Magorian! And to think when you were a child you were scared at the sight of me,"

Magorian glared, "That was before I knew about the nonaggression pack, which clearly states you will leave this part of the forest alone,"

"Tsk tsk Magorian are you getting old? I remember the pact clearly has one exemption," I replied with a small smirk lifting my violin

I saw his eyes widen, "The last time you did that was when I was a kid,"

I gazed up at the sky the stars seemed to shine even brighter at my gaze, "The stars are singing for me tonight,"

I stepped forward so I stood atop the rock platform that seemed to be in the perfect place for the moon to shine upon.

"Bring your clansmen if you wish Magorian, I will not wait long," I said with a small smile while adjusting the violin

Soon I heard the gentle clopping of centaurs arriving, looking around from my elevated position I saw many centaurs most likely more than half of the clan. The rest were probably guarding the clan.

"Leader why did you ask us to come here," an annoyed voice sounded

Magorian replied sharply, "Be quiet Bane you are here for a reason. Morpheus please perform to your fullest,"

I looked up at the moon and stars, "I plan to," I said gently with a large smile on my face

*Narrator pov*

Morpheus found himself consumed by the melody flowing from his enchanted violin. As if possessed by the very essence of the song, he stood on the elevated rock platform within the Forbidden Forest, his whimsical movements a testament to an unseen force guiding his every gesture.

His fingers, seemingly not under his control, danced across the strings with an otherworldly fervor. The notes, wrought from the depths of his magical instrument, echoed through the ancient trees, casting a spell that bound him to the whims of the music. Morpheus's eyes, ablaze with an ethereal light, reflected a trance-like state as the song took possession of his very being.

With each sweep of the bow, Morpheus twirled and swayed in a dance dictated by the mystical forces channeled through the violin. His robes billowed in tandem with the crescendo, and his Raven black hair seemed to glow a silver sheen it seemed to ripple like liquid moonlight, all in harmony with the bewitching melody that emanated from his instrument.

The centaurs, drawn by the spectacle, witnessed Morpheus as a vessel of the song, caught in the melody of the violin. The moonlit glow intensified, casting an otherworldly aura around him as if the stars themselves were bathing everyone present.

In that moment, Morpheus and the song became one, an inseparable union of magic and musician. The centaurs found themselves feeling better, it was as if the melody was cleansing their mind, bodies, and souls whisking away all of their troubling thoughts.

Morpheus swayed atop the rock with a blissful smile on his face. As his hands stopped playing the music seemed to fade but at the back of everyone's mind, they could still hear the gentle melody resonating through their bodies.

"It was just as magical as the first time I experienced it," Magorian said nearing Morpheus who still seemed to be savoring the moonlight

"The first time you saw me play you were just a child with little worries, now you are an adult leading a clan with many thoughts on your mind I'm sure this experience is greater than the first," Morpheus replied not being humble at all

Magorian chuckled, "Why do you do this ritual so infrequently?" he asked watching Morpheus step down

Morpheus looked up at the stars, "I only play this song when the stars sing to me,"

*Morpheus pov*

Shortly after performing the Song of the Stars, I returned to my room. The performance takes a lot out of me, if it wasn't for the pact I would have never played for such a big group.

The song is special in many ways, it's a ritual you can only perform at certain times but the effects are tremendous. I'm sure the centaurs will soon find they can read the skies much easier now. The warriors can shoot their bows much more accurately. And much more, all of that is a bonus for me though.

I just enjoy playing the song, letting my soul feel free baring it to the world as I play to my heart's content.

I remember when I first played the Song of the Stars, I felt as if all of my worries vanished into thin air.

Looking up at the stars one more time before I fell asleep from exhaustion I smiled.

Now I am ready for this new year of teaching.
