Chapter 17

I Apparated to my room at the orphanage and packed all my stuff. I gave a last look to the room I had been living ever since I got to this world. Even though it was a small worn out room with old furniture, it was still mine and I will miss it OR!!! So would I have felt if I was a sentimental person or someone who gave a crap, but I am a pragmatic person and I have an expensive Manor now. The only thing I care about this orphanage is the Matron. Even though Matron is in her late 50s, she still doesn't force any of the kids to work and takes care of everyone. Even though I was a selfish child who never helped around and spent all my time holed up in the room, she always treated me kindly and never once complained or got angry with me. No matter what any of the children did, she was always patient with them. If genuinely good people exist, she is certainly one of them.

I picked up my stuff and moved out of the room. I made my way towards Matron's office and knocked on the door.

"Come in." I heard from inside.

I made my way inside. Matron was sitting behind her table, looking our some papers.

"Hello Aiden, come please sit. What can I do for you." She asked kindly.

"Hello Matron, I just wanted to inform you that I am moving out of the orphanage. I just came by inheritance, turns out my parents were quite rich. I will be living at my family house from now on." I replied.

"That's good news. Even though you were one of the most intelligent children here and I always thought that you do quite well after moving out, it's still good to know that you now don't have to worry about money and can live a good life. But remember if you ever need my help or someone to talk to, you are always welcome here." She said gently. Like I said, a good person.

I took out my checkbook and wrote a check for 100,000 pounds for her. ( I opened an account in a Muggle bank after I sold Basilisk parts and put some money in it.)

"Matron, I want to make a donation to the orphanage. Please accept this." I said while I handed her the check.

" it's too much money, I am afraid I can't accept this." She denied and tried to give back the check.

" Don't worry it's not too much, As I said, I inherited quite a lot of money." I said while trying to convince her.

Before she could deny further I stood up and said, " well Matron, I need to go or I will be late for my train. Goodbye."

"Goodbye Aiden, this money will certainly help a lot of children." She said looking grateful.

I left the orphanage after saying goodbye and Apparated to my manor.

I spent the rest of the month mastering my wolf animagus form and going through the family grimoire.

First of all, let me tell you about my wolf animagus form. Like I previously predicted, my wolf animagus form is that of a magical creature, Shadow wolf to be exact. When I first transformed, I thought I was mistaken since it just looked like a normal black wolf. But when I put more magic in it while transformed I turned into dark shadow like fog and vanished and reappeared in a different part of Manor. Meaning I now have a unique way of magical traveling which can't be blocked by anti-apparation or anti portkey wards or any known method. Meaning I can sneak into any place unnoticed and can even travel inside a heavily warded place like Hogwarts. I called this ability 'Shadow traveling'. While experimenting further I found out that I can turn a part of my body or whole body into shadow like dark fog and let objects pass through me. I have yet to experiment with spells since I am alone, but I am positive that I can let spells pass through me too.

It required a lot of practice but I am now able to use these abilities in my human form too even though it takes more magic than my wolf form. But these abilities are worth it.

I am training to be able to use them during battle quickly and efficiently.

But the good news just doesn't stop there, I finally found what I have been searching for all these years. Yup, that's right, I finally found a ritual good enough and the best part is that I don't have to sacrifice my looks or modify any part of my body.

Turns out Canis family secretly specialized in Ritual magic. Secretly because, if others found out, it would have been called dark like Black family instead of maintaining the status quo as a neutral house.

There were a lot of good Rituals in the grimoire but I found one which will fit my requirements and will be easily doable in my current circumstances.

The ritual requires one to kill a dragon singlehandedly without any help and uses this dragon's heart in exchange for increased physical strength and magical affinity. Meaning I will be both physically and magically stronger after doing this ritual. I just have to kill a dragon and use its heart as a price. Since ritual magic is based on equal exchange meaning the stronger the dragon more benefits for me.

Problem is that due to low numbers, dragons are protected creatures and live in dragon reserves.

But I know a way to legally fight and kill a dragon in front of everyone while looking awesome doing it. Yup, that's right, the first task of Triwizard competition. The best part is that everyone is even going to cheer for me while I am doing it. And I will even claim dragon's corpse legally as dragons are XXXXX class dangerous creatures and subjugating one will legally entitle me to its corpse and ministry will have to bear the cost.

Yeah, the idea of taking part in Triwizard competition is looking better and better. Can't wait to start.
