Harbinger of Calamity

a Neet who has worked hard his entire life, who has experienced the vicissitudes of life, living much of his life in poverty, depression and drug addiction, at the end of his difficult road, dies of cancer at the age of 26. Having suffered his entire life trying to face the cruel reality of the world, always chasing higher pursuits and exploring ideas but his pursuit of truth only leads to his own collapse. In his last days instead of weeping, he laughs, he laughs at the absurdity of it all. It seemed as if fate had played the biggest joke on him, he had taken too seriously what had no value. What is life? a blink of an eye! as unreal as a dream, what a mysterious world, we are just born out of nowhere only to vanish later on. A profound sigh was uttered "If only I wasn't dealt such bad cards! I was made for the heights yet here I am crashed in the abyss of life."  Looking at the world he was soon to leave, he sighed "Humanity truly has fallen in this era, it has crashed from the heights of embodying divinity to succumbing to their animalistic selves becoming creatures of decadence, slaves to pleasure, lust and the lowly desires of the body. Truly my heart weeps for the tragedy of humanity, the industrial revolution, a slave society disguised as 'modern society', poisonous foods filled with chemicals, an entire network engineered to enslave minds called the internet, an absolute infestation of decadence and mediocrity in the very Human spirit that used to overpower all. All humanity is enslaved, what can't parents even teach? they are slaves themselves. Atleast in this life, I refused to be a slave, I was a free being, atleast in the later half of my life, I followed my own passions and lived my own life but in the end, sigh I failed! But oh well, who ever lived a perfect life in this world? as the darkness of death engulfs him, he fully accepts it and is gone. A pair of eye opened and an absolutely stunning sight appeared, he was transmigrated. For the first time in so long, he could see clearly without glasses or contacts, he could feel physically powerful instead of a sickly body and a destroyed pleasure system. He resolves that this time, this life, He would pursue his own freedom! He would never give up on himself and he will walk his own path to the very end. "That's right, I was wrong depending on sympathy. Cold, heartless, I won't forgive them, they can't be forgiven! That's right, it wasn't me who was wrong, it was the world that was wrong!" A descent towards Madness. A cruel world where no refuge can be found, countless obstacles obstructing one's path, mountains of corpses, an abyss of blood, a heart of darkness, a cruel fate to all living beings. No heart or soul, only an abyss of despair and a heart to ascend beyond. ... Intense battle

A giant Raptor was flying in the sky!

As he turned to look at it, both of their eyes met and Nameless understood, it was coming for him!

The will in his mind was shocked : "How can that be?! Raptorial vultures cannot fly. They don't have proper wings and their body weight is too heavy for their feathery arms to allow flying. Don't tell me? a Flying Anima!"

Nameless smiled before he slightly laughed : "So that was the purpose of the tree root dome."

The raptor flapped its feather arms like wings to fly high in the sky, its eyes were sharp scanning the environment like an eagle.

Even though its flight wasn't flawless, it could still fly above the hundred meter tall trees, and move in between the even taller ones.

Nameless had long since escaped towards the forest.

As soon as he entered the forest, the raptor began to slowly descend to the ground before it crashed heavily on the ground sending debris and rocks flying everywhere, some approaching him at stunning speeds.

The rocks were sent at such high speed that Nameless didn't doubt they could pierce through his body and internal organs, without hesitation he hid behind the giant trunk of a tree.

An immeasurable amount of rocks crashed into the ecosystem, rocks were imbedded into trees, a great amount of smaller living beings were wiped out and parts of the flora were damaged beyond repair.

As soon as the rocks stopped, Nameless rushed escaping with his highest speed consupming even more of the already depleting energy in his body.

"That was so dangerous! what the hell is happening?! did it do that on purpose?"

"It seems its flight attainment is still low making it unable to land properly but wheter it was on purpose, I cannot say, all I can tell you is raptorian vultures are very cunning, anyway focus on escaping now, the situation is getting really tricky."

After crashing, the beast's body kept rolling crashing into the trees of the forest.

Giant trees were shaken, some split in half, some obliterated, immediately, giant roots and branches extended to attack the beast.

This roots were sharp and the diverse ecosystem made it so they all had unique abilities that attacked specific weaknesses of living beings.

An extremely big and sharp tree root extended, it aimed at the raptor's head before rapidly moving to penetrate its skull.

Clink

A metallic sound echoed as the tree root was repelled!

"Impossible! don't tell me the beast has another anima?!" the will in his mind spoke.

The beast's head was covered in bronze-like metallic scales that not only seemed to protect the beast but even damage the roots.

"What?! he has another Anima? How can that be?!" Nameless spoke as his heart sank.

Seeing the root failing, Countless tree roots extended from the ground attacking the beast all at once from all sides, hundreds of trees roots all cooperated to end the beast that encrouched on their territory with killing intent.

The beast rapidly covered its body with the bronze scales but it still got injured in specific parts, its state becoming even worse than it already was, however the beast still surviving by protecting its head with its large and feathery arms.

Countless metallic sounds echoed throughout the forest, the tree roots attacked relentlessly, however the beast wasn't fazed.

Nameless at that moment run out of energy but it didn't move him.

He simply stood watching, he still enough energy to escape but how could that work in this situation, as he watched, he couldn't help but be impressed, such a scene was shocking yet beyond impressive.

Heavy winds blew just from the roots movements and ear-piercing sounds echoed each time the roots came into contact with beast's scaled.

He also couldn't understand why would the beast risk all this trouble just to kill him. He wasn't any more nourishing than the raptor corpses that laid in the previous battlefied.

"Something seems off." the will in his mind spoke.

"I know."

The roots relentlessly attacked but after a few minutes, they had to stop mid-air and stop attacking to rest for a few moments.

It was at this moment that the raptor removed lifted his head from his arms and raised its jaw pointing outwards.

"Deactivate your ears and sensory quills and then hide behind the giant trunk!" the will in his mind screamed.

The beast first sucked air as wind blew and entered its giant sack, it then closed its mouth as its eyes began to glow before it finally opened its mouth.

BOOOM

A supersonic blast immediately radiated, waves of sound energy moved through the air rapidly crashing into the roots and trees blowing them into smithers!

All the roots were annihilated immediately, even the surrounding trees were blown away as heavy winds blew and sharp sounds echoed.

Despite hiding behind a trunk and deactivating his ears, Nameless still couldn't help but be injured and vomiting a mouthful of blood as he was forced to return back to his human form.

Minutes passed before he finally recovered, he moved looking at the scenery of what was left.

Except the few trees in front of him, nothing remained, only falling branches and a huge smoke that obscured everything.

THUMB

THUMB

A huge foot stepped on the ground, creating a small crater as it walked.

Soon, far away, a giant figure could be seen, it eyes glowed with red and hot air and smoke came out of its mouth.

Nameless wildly smiled.

He had nowhere to escape and it seemed the beast was adamant on killing him.

The beast slowly approached.

"Hey will, is there still a way to escape?"

"Yes, there is."

"What? why didn't you say so sooner?"

"I can use the Guardians formation and 50% of the dao marks on your body to teleport you but that might alert the Guardian."

"I see. Well, I have no choice anyway, activate it."

Immediately, half the purple dao on his body shone in blinding purple light before they descended from his body to the ground drawing an intricate purple formation.

The purple formation begin to shine in a mystical light as it activated.

"Its working but it will take ten seconds before the teleportation begins, also do not walk out of the formation no matter what happens."

The beast slowly approached, it didn't know he was about to escape and the injuries sustained made it go slowly so as to recover.

"7 seconds left!"

The beast was still approaching but it still didn't seem to rush to kill him.

However as the beast moved, Nameless felt his mind become agitated, he resisted this influence but it became stronger and stronger.

"3 seconds left!"

the beast was still fifty meter away from him making him sigh in relief, he was gonna survive.

However, it was at this moment that a red cicada emerged from the beast's forehead!

It rushed flipping its wings crossing the fifty meters in two seconds!

Nameless saw a line moving mid-air quickly rushing towards him aiming at his head!

Just as the cicada entered the periphary of the teleporation formation, the teleportation activated!
