Despite getting blasted away by his own powerful technique, Deva Path Pain's body was still intact, albeit quite heavily wounded.
Well, at the end of the day, it was just a remotely controlled body, so ironically, Pain's body couldn't feel any pain.
There were multiple reasons why Pain's body wasn't destroyed despite the power of the attack.
First of all, some of its force was lost while it had to smash through all those Uzumaki barriers. Then, even more was lost when the sixth layer couldn't absorb all of it properly, and finally, he was only pushed into the sky and didn't collide with anything, significantly reducing the damage.
If the blow had hit him from above and slammed him into the ground, he would have undoubtedly turned into blood mist. The scary part wasn't the push itself but the following collision.
So, Pain was currently falling from the sky slowly, only occasionally adjusting his speed so he wouldn't become too fast.
However, that was pretty much done subconsciously, as he was still in a daze due to what had just happened.
'Impossible! My attack was not only blocked, but even reflected back towards me! Impossible! It's impossible!'
"IMPOSSIBLE!!!"
Nagato's anger erupted as he started yelling words of denial to no one in particular.
Meanwhile, Yuna stood on the ground nearby Pain's predicted landing spot and shook her head in disappointment.
'Such a fragile mind for a supposed god. How pitful.'
[Pretty sure the problem isn't the fragility of his mind, but your very existence that's just too damaging for it.]
'Is it just me, or have you been buttering up to me quite a lot recently? Is there anything you want?'
[Sure, let's go with that. Make me a huge see with turbulent waves in your mindscape; I wanna try my hand at surfing.]
'Sure, easy.'
Pain landed a few meters away from Yuna a few minutes later, his feet lightly touching the ground. Although he was still primarily expressionless due to being a puppet, his eyes clearly reflected anger and hatred, causing Yuna to smirk.
"Do you hate me?"
Nagato, the real body, couldn't help but flinch when he heard Yuna's question. After all, all he wanted to do was break through the cycle of hatred that plagued the shinobi nations for a long time now. Yet, here he was, caught up in his own hatred.
Clearly aware of Nagato's inner conflict, Yuna's smile widened as she continued speaking.
"Is that it, Nagato? I caused you pain, yet all you feel for me is hatred. Shouldn't we understand each other's pain, resulting in peace?"
The real body of Nagato almost crushed the armrests of his chair when he heard Yuna's words, while his face twisted in anger, surprising Konan, who had returned to his side by now. However, he ignored Konan and focused his attention back on the conversation he had with Yuna.
"Your pain!? What could you possibly know about pain!? You were born in this world's most prosperous shinobi village, and you are the head of its strongest clan! You are considered Konoha's greatest genius! You are the daughter of the Fourth Hokage! Additionally, isn't your life filled with whatever degeneracies you are doing with your harem!? WHAT COULD YOU POSSIBLE KNOW ABOUT PAIN!? THE REASON WE CAN NOT UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER IS: BECAUSE MY PAIN, IS GREATER THAN YOURS!!!"
A smile appeared on Yuna's face when she heard Nagato's accusations. She couldn't help but find it funny how little Nagato knew of her story, despite her being his most significant obstacle. Well, in the end, she wasn't surprised. Rather than collecting seemingly useless information about her background, it would make much more sense to investigate her combat skills, after all.
Although Yuna had a different mindset, where she would want to know as much information as she possibly could about her enemies, that mindset was clearly not very widely spread in this world.
"Hehehe, although you are not wrong, you are not right either. I might have been born in this world's most prosperous shinobi village, but I was in conflict with its citizen from the day I turned three."
"I might be the head of Konoha's strongest clan, but I didn't simply inherit that position. I carved it into the very foundation of Konoha with my own hands."
"I am indeed this world's most incredible and most beautiful, charming, intelligent, and most awesome overall genius, but if you think I didn't put in any effort, then you a very wrong. Well, except for the "most beautiful" part. I was born that way."
[Damn, surfing with the body of a fox is surprisingly hard.]
'Want to transform into a human body?'
[Eww, no.]
'Okay, that was quite rude.'
"As for being the daughter of the Fourth Hokage, I have not once used that to my advantage. Thinking you are someone special because your parents are special is just pathetic."
"In regards to my harem... hehe, jealous?"
One of Nagato's blood vessels almost burst when he saw Yuna mockingly smirking at him with a perverted smile on her face as she said those words. He was just about to attack her to resume the fight when the atmosphere surrounding Yuna changed.
"As for knowing pain, hehehe~"
Nagato couldn't help but be taken aback due to the sudden change Yuna went through.
"Do you know the pain of your first love betraying you, Nagato?"
A shudder went through Nagato's body as he heard Yuna's question and noticed her slowly twisting smile.
"Do you know the pain of your first love literally stabbing a weapon into your heart?"
Another shudder went through Nagato's body as Yuna's previously mocking smirk twisted further and further away from what could possibly be called a smile.
"Do you know the pain of surviving such an encounter and setting your mind on killing the person you still are in love with?"
By now, Yuna's deranged smile almost split her face into two halves as insanity started radiating from her whole body.
"Do you know the pain of confessing your feelings to your first love and then stabbing her in the heart, killing her in the process?"
The aura of insanity radiating out of Yuna was so thick by now, Nagato could feel it pressing down on his body.
"It's the best and the worst feeling in the world, Nagato~"
Nagato couldn't help but tremble in fear as he looked at the person radiating such deep madness that even Hidan would feel humbled.
"In conclusion..."
Within an instant, the dense insanity radiating out of Yuna vanished, and she returned to her usual self while an amused smile appeared on her face.
"...my pain is greater than yours."
