Regiana's pov

"Good morning, Princess!"The maids said loudly waking me up from my slumber. I woke up and brushed my hair to make it look presentable before heading to the washroom to freshen up. After I had freshened up I wore the clothes neatly laid out by the maid and headed down the corridor while muttering a chorus of Good morning.

Who I am? I am Princess Regiana Jane Alder, Eldest Child of King Joseph and Queen Jane of Coledonia, and the next ruler. Coledonia is an island near England but we have a cultural mix of Greece, English, and Spain.

"Good morning, Father and Mother," I said politely with a slight bow as I reached the breakfast table. Both mother and father looked up from their meal and smile. My father got up kissed me on the cheek, "Morning my princess. Remember today at 3 you and your mum have to a charity event." He then to have a meeting about the terrorist attack around the world and what position are we regarding the safety of the Coledonians. I am the apple of my father eyes and he never discriminated me or even made me feel unequal to a boy rather he treated me like a boy. The only thing I didn't like about our Kingdom was the inequality of women in our society which I would see to when I am the Queen. I can't wait to be the Queen and do well for people but I have to wait until I am 21 which I will be in 7 years.

My mother sat with me and ate breakfast and after that she escorted me to my study room where my teacher was waiting for me. My tutor is very strict, one mistake and he would raise his stick. I try to be perfect but I can't help but be nervous about what he will do if something goes wrong. That is not what concerned me, my Mother was much tensed today. Must be because the King of France was coming? I like playing with the Prince of France: Cayden as he lets me win in every game also we both are interested in mathematics and history.

After hours of studying, I finally head to the dining place to have my lunch. You see I am destined to be the next Queen so I need to be educated to the finest point. I like mathematics and history. It was interesting yet challenging for my brain.

After the tutor class which was better than last time as Mr. Petriski only punished me three times. I then head to the banquet hall to have my lunch. My mother has a specific set of dishes she wants me to eat every day to maintain shape. I ate a disgusting lunch. I didn't object as I love and adore mother. I want to make her happy by doing whatever she commands me to do. Mid - soup, one of our maid came and informed me that the Queen has called me. I ditched my lunch and headed to my mother's room.

I hurried down the long corridors in which I don't get lost anymore. The castle of Amber has been my home since my birth and now I have a mental map of the palace. I turned left took a deep breath and opened the door.

I am scared of my mother. Though my mother loves me, she has a problem expressing her emotions. We don't talk much no matter how much we both try to connect like normal mother-daughter, we can't make it work. My mother is more serious, quiet dominating, and perfectionist whereas I am more outgoing, talkative, and messy. Instead I am more close to my father who unlike my serious and perfectionist mother, was more outgoing and fun to be around. I know the difference between my mother's usual self and when she has something bothering her. The,e past few days mother has been very paranoid and snaps at the smallest thing. I entered my mother's room which was warm with the fireplace on. My mother stood by the window, deep in thought. "Mother." I said softly. She flinched but kept her posture and she motioned me to sit. I sat at the nearest chair, waiting for her instruction.

"You see Regina, today you and I are supposed to go to a charity event. I can't say much but please wear this under the clothes that I picked for you." She handed me a padded armor, one which blocks a bullet but why would she? We are not going in a war? I tried to question but the look in my mother eyes left no option.

I quickly changed into a beautiful red evening gown that had beautiful and intricate lacework on it. I brushed my luscious red hair which I inherited from my mother and head down to see a Lamborghini waiting.

Robert, our butler opened the car for me, I muttered a thank you to which he replied, "Anything for you Giana." Robert has always called me Giana as it reminded him of his granddaughter and he said to me that he thought of me as his granddaughter too.

I entered the car and saw my mother was already sitting there with her shades on. After a few minutes of silence, my mother turned to me and said very softly, "Whatever happens I love you. If anything happens than know that this was all planned and they will destroy you but you have to survive. After we crash and run to your aunt's house. Come back here and take revenge for me, be the Queen you are destined to be. That is my wish." She then hugged me tightly. I was shocked by the mother's word.1st of all this is the most affection I have ever seen my mother give tome and 2nd of all why was she saying these words as if we were dying?

"What do you mean? What-"

Before I could ask we crashed into a pillar and that was the last I saw of my mother. She planted the seed of revenge.
