Prologue 0.1

AZALEA

"Thank you for attending our daughter's birthday" My mother said with a smile as she bid the last guest goodbye.

The moment my father closed the door my mother's expressions changed.

"It's your daughter's birthday and what are you doing?! flirting with a woman!!"

"Let's not do this today Daphne, and that woman and I just talked"

"Talked? Does her boobs were touching your arms! Does that count as talking?"

"Fine. She was flirting with me,  but did I flirt back?"

"It doesn----" My mother didn't got the chance to finish her sentence. There was a loud ringing in my ears when my father's palm touched my mother's face.

"I l-love you..." I was shocked when I saw her smiling despite the bruises in her face.

But my father completely ignored her,  he just kept hitting her. I want to stop them but I know my mother wants this, she loves this.

I ignored them and made my way to my room. This kind of thing happens all the time, I should get used to this, right?

All family do this too right?

I immediately stood up when I heard my mother's footsteps. I ran as fast as I could and then locked my door.

"Azalea~" mother's voice is like music to my ears, it's horrifying but beautiful. It puts me at ease.

"Azalea....." my grip from the doorknob tightened.

I stood there frozen when I realised that my door was now unlocked, And my mother was there standing with a smile despite the bruises on her face.

"This is love too..." She said while hugging me.  The way her hands touch my face is enough to send shivers down my spine.

At a young age of three I learned what love meant, and the one who taught me that was my mother.

My mother would always tell me a bedtime story, and it was how my father and her fell in love.

My mother was a princess stuck in a tower, she was lonely with no one to talk to but her sister, they kept each other in company.

Before they sleep the princess will always ask her sister how do you find love. And her sister's reply was,

"You'll know it when you meet the right one" But that wasn't enough for the princess.

She still didn't understood what it meant so she asked,

"But how would I know?"

"You'll have that feeling in your heart, and then your heart will tell you that you were made for each other."

And then her heart did tell her.

Many years passed and finally the princess escaped, But everything comes with a price, and the price for her freedom was her sister's life.

The princess continued her journey outside the tower while trying to forget about her sister.

And in her journey, she encountered him, the person she believes is the right one for her.

Her heart told her that they were born for each other.

So she did everything, and anything just to get him.

The princess had the face and wits, she not only enchanted men but also women. The princess got into a lot of relationships just to find her "right one"

The princess believed that she was born to find love and only then can she truly be alive and happy.

The princess and the man got together, at first they were happy but then the princess noticed something was wrong.

The man was cheating on her, but she turned a blind eye on it. Why? Because she loves him.

That's when she remembered what her sister said.

"If you finally found the right one, you must do everything to make that person yours no matter what."

And she did.

The princess's hands were then stained with blood.

The man knows nothing of this, he was completely clueless.

One day the man decided to break up with the princess, so the princess thought,

"What if I get pregnant? will he comeback to me?"

And the princess was right, they got married and lived happily ever after.

And when the story is finished my mother would whisper to my ears,

"Life is meaningless if you aren't with the one you love."

Love, It's so beautiful, but sometimes loving too much... is suffocating .

I know that our kind of love is toxic, Yet I find myself coming back again and again.

I looked at my mother's back, and that's when I saw my father smiling at us.

That's right...

Our love is suffocating.

Our love is intoxicatingly beautiful.
