FATE/Probability

An exploration of possibilities of shirou emiya, a character who always felt shackled by the wheel of FATE. If an injured soul merges with the body that will one day be called the "wrought iron hero" how far we can stretch fate... . . . . . . . . . well, this is a try to take one of my most liked and disliked characters for me and see how could they have been as the name says a probability with the least tragedy as the world of nasuverse is allergic to happy endings without trauma. There is no system here even tho I personally like them but a system will defeat the point of this plot ohh and there will not be all sunshine and rainbows as in fate that's realistically not possible. so let's get this started !! (I don't own the type moon stuff the ocs are my creation and all other stuff belongs to the original creator.)

Chapter 37: Walpurgis Night

Shirou was practising magecraft as usual in the morning and kiritsugu came to him to talk about the details of crest transfer. At first, the medicines he took were very uncomfortable but with the 1 month time he spent taking them, he slowly got accustomed to them.

According to the quirky tuner, Shirou's body was ready to begin the crest transfer. The only one lagging was kiritsugu, he had trouble transferring the knowledge of his magecraft into the crest. Mages mostly already have the modification for their crest planned out for a long time, hence when the time comes they just solidify the circuits and store the knowledge.

Kiritsugu had never considered passing on the crest hence he didn't plan any blueprint plus the design of the crest was already unstable after the enforcers removed major portions of it. Melvin spent most of their sessions rearranging the emiya crest into a stable shape and also keeping it adaptive enough to seamlessly integrate with the cutout piece.

Shirou`s day went by as usual at the school. Coming home he crossed paths with a man dressed in black clothes with a silver cross hanging by his neck. The man was carrying a large parcel in his hand, which struck Shirou as extremely odd.

At home, shirou and Taiga finished their training and she was called by kiritsugu for tuition. While going through the door she turned back towards shirou and said

"Shirou! Grandfather said that he has found a master swordsmith for you, he also said that the master smith put forth a condition of first meeting you before taking you into their lineage."

Smiling slightly and with excited eyes he said

"Thank you taiga-nee. I would surely become a capable smith."

Laughing at his what she considered childish interest she walked away. Thinking about his plans to create mystic codes shirou meditated with the katana while trying to find that sensation he found once in the past.

....

Shirou once again stood in the void but this time he found something different. The void was not dark like it once was. In the distant horizon, he saw changes, the horizon was not colourless anymore but rather a flickering orange.

He was also astounded to find that he could turn his point of view a little about 30 degrees on both sides. Turning his head he found that the horizon was very similar on all sides but it was flickering like a flame swaying with the wind.

Pondering on this his vision was pulled into the familiar swirl and disappeared from the view.

This time he didn't appear in any unknown location but in a very familiar location. This familiarity was what sent chills down the boy`s spine, in some corner of his mind harboured an illogical hope that the visions were inaccurate because the places he saw were not familiar.

But all of that shattered like glass as he was given a firm slap on the face by his presence in the living room of emiya household. Recognising this familiar room and the attention-grabbing presence of the king of knights in this place brought a sense of helplessness in him.

Despite his mental turmoil, his voice said in an optimistic tone.

"Saber, can you go alone?"

"Yes I should go alone if the enemy is the caster, your judgement is correct shirou." said the blond girl in her characteristic measured tone.

"Alright go ahead. We will defend this place, you focus on defeating the caster." said shirou.

After Saber rushes out he hears the sound of something collapsing and the sound of steel hitting something hollow and breaking it apart. Alongside the sound, a girl covered his view and left him stunned.

The girl wearing a full-sleeved red top with a cross embroidered on the area just below her neck. He had dark black hair that was tied into a familiar twin-tail style. Her moving towards shirou made her black skirt flutter and her black thigh-high socks became visible.

In previous visions, shirou was unable to identify who the masters of rider and berserker were but even when this girl looked very unfamiliar he considered it as an older version of Rin. Looking at her he thought

<if 16 18 she is rin then I should be nearly the same age as her. Hence can guess that both of them are around to years old. Finally, got some concrete info about date Grail War.>

"They are increasing. Twenty, thirty …. Forty hey even if they are too weak, it is too many of them," said Rin with concern visible in her sky blue eyes.

As shirou was processing the information he learnt from Rin for some reason his future self didn't even have the basic perception of mana that everyone has after unlocking their circuits, another voice interrupted his thoughts.

"It's no problem at all, there is no way that some fake dragon warrior could beat the true incarnation of the red dragon. Even hundreds of them would be no match for sabre."

Searching for the source of the voice shirou mentally shivered when he came across the little girl dressed in a long white skirt and a purple shirt with a purple tie. Her white hair and red eyes gave him a very complicated feeling.

He was not as confused as the 1st vision so he easily connected the dots that she might be related to the family of his uselessly sacrificed wife of his father. Then he resonated that she was the master of berserker and might be allied with him in this timeline.

Still having lingering discomfort due to his brutal murder by her he focused on her voice to gain information about the situation. The sound of battle moved away from the room and scraping noises echoed in the house. Illiay said

"Saber has found the location of the caster. I can sense all the familiars are gathering towards the same location. If she is gathering her familiars back to her then I guess this is it."

"You seem depressed. You look unhappy even though this battle is almost at its end."

Said Rin a little concerned.

Her voice cut through the silence that took over the room and shirou who was unable to to know the mental condition of his future self took this at face value. Then she crossed her arms in a leisurely way and said with curiousity

"Then…. Everything is going too well. Even if the sabre is much stronger than the caster assumed I don't think she would attack us without a backup plan."

Rin`s question made shirou think of his previous visions and he thought

<the woman who put traps like space transfer on the stairs to use magic resistance of sabre against her wouldn't be here without a plan.>

As he was thinking the sound of battle stopped and he asked the white-haired girl

"Illiya what happened to the presence of caster... can you sense her?"

"It disappeared, the familiars are still there but the presence of the caster disappeared, and the only servant present is Sabre," she replied in her high-pitched girlish voice.

"The familiars are still there?....shirou your hand!" shouted a distressed rin.

Reflexively looking at his left hand, shirou was shocked to see the command seals absent.

"Shirou, did you use your command seals?" asked the girl very worried

"No, I didn't use them." shirou firmly denied the accusation. Braking the heavy silence of thoughts Illya said

"Saber is coming back. She would be here soon,"

Hearing this rin and Illya took a defence stance and were on guard. Rin especially took the martial arts stance of Bajiquan that she had learnt from someone she didn't talk about.

Amidst this tense atmosphere, sabre stepped into the room, she was holding her chest with her face contorted in pain. Her every step was like she was fighting against herself.

"Saber!!" shouted shirou as he ran towards her with his actions showing concern.

"Hold on! Shirou," shouted Rin but shirou ignored her and rushed towards his injured servant and said

"Are you all right? Where are you hurt—-"

She pushed him back suddenly and witnessing this rin shouted

"Wha– no shirou! Run.. saber stop!"

shouted the two other women but before the boy could process anything a brilliant strike smoothly bisected his body from his left shoulder. The strike was nearly invisible due to the invisible air covering the sword.

The cut was so smooth that before shirou could feel pain he felt his consciousness slipping he just had a single question as the pain slowly came and that was

<what the hell happened here?>

With his fading consciousness, shirou cracked the servant`s name as his vision was sucked into the swirl of colours.

(A/N: we have completed the common causes of death in the Fate Stay Night route, I would summarize the similar deaths and describe the unique ones and plot-relevant ones. Someone said that shirou is not realy gaining anything except trauma from these so here he learnt the identity of 2 masters plus some cautiousness as in the world of magus reasonable choices can get you killed.

I would speed up the progress towards the death of kiritsugu as most of the foundation is set and MC would now just practise the things that he would learn. I would throw some forging chapters and summarize some details but after about 2 chapters, the time should be fast-forwarded.
