Chapter 62 : Not to Worry?

"What?!!"

The Fairy Tail guild erupted into chaos.

The Magic Council's demand to arrest Kyros, based on a report from the Phantom Lord Guild, was met with incredulity.

"Are you kidding me? It's obvious that it was the Phantom Lord Guild who attacked our Fairy Tail guild first! Can't you see that?" exclaimed someone from within the guild.

As everyone turned to look, the gaping hole in the guild hall was still visible, albeit temporarily patched up with numerous planks. The absence of the iron pillar left the structure vulnerable, as if a strong gust of wind could bring it crashing down.

"Exactly! They initiated the attack! Why go after Kyros? If you're going to pursue someone, it should be the Phantom Lord Guild!" another guild member chimed in.

"It's shameful to even consider reporting this to the Magic Council. It's clearly a case of the guilty pointing fingers first!"

Fairy Tail refused to entertain the notion.

Lahar, the vice-captain of the team, frowned. "We're simply complying with the investigation. The Magic Council will make its own judgment..."

"No! We won't allow you to take Kyros!" a defiant voice rang out.

"We have no faith in the Magic Council!!"

"If you want Kyros, you'll have to get through me first!!"

Witnessing the standoff, Les, the captain of the Rune knights, raised his voice: "How dare you defy the authority of the Magic Council! Arrest them all!"

"Yes, Captain!"

But then, a cold snort echoed, followed by an invisible force bearing down on the Rune Knights of the Magic Council.

"Bang bang bang!"

Several knights collapsed to the ground, unconscious.

Both Captain Doranbolt (Mest Gryder) and Vice-Captain Lahar paled, dropping to their knees with sweat beading on their foreheads. They felt an overwhelming mental pressure, inducing a sense of terror for no apparent reason.

Step by step, Kyros emerged, emanating a formidable aura that Lahal could sense.

"Are you here to arrest me? I'll come with you."

"Kyros!!"

The atmosphere in the Fairy Tail guild grew tense as Kyros's words echoed through the room.

Kyros waved dismissively, flashing a reassuring smile. "Don't fret, it's just the Magic Council. They can't touch me."

"Uh..."

Confusion rippled through the guild members. What exactly was the Magic Council?

"I simply went to gauge how the Magic Council would handle this situation. If their judgment is fair, I'm willing to accept the consequences. If not, I'll adjust accordingly."

"Let's go! I haven't visited the Magic Council in ages. This is a rare opportunity."

"Put him in handcuffs!" The leader of the Rune knights ordered Lahar. The Magic Council had sanctioned special magic restraints for apprehending mages, akin to the Seastone cuffs in the world of One Piece. These restraints nullified a mage's ability to cast magic, rendering them as powerless as ordinary individuals.

Lahar reached for the handcuffs, intending to restrain Kyros.

With a casual movement, Kyros seized the handcuffs and effortlessly shattered them.

"You!"

"I dislike constraints, and they hold no power over me."

The captain of the Rune knights frowned deeply. Despite his years of service in the Magic Council, he had never encountered such audacious defiance from a criminal like Kyros. However, faced with the enigma of Kyros's strength, he could only temporarily restrain his ire.

"Take him away!"

As Kyros was escorted out by the Rune knights, fury and frustration boiled within the Fairy Tail guild.

In the basement of the guild hall, a heavy silence lingered in the aftermath of Kyros's departure.

"Boom!" Natsu erupted, shattering the table before him with a furious punch.

"No! I can't stand this any longer! We can't abandon Kyros! I'm heading to the Magic Council to rescue him!"

"Yes! And that Phantom Lord Guild! They will pay for this!"

"We'll make them regret it!"...

The guild members echoed each other's sentiments with righteous indignation, except for Mira and Guild Master Makarov, who maintained their composure amidst the turmoil.

Gray spoke up, addressing Makarov. "Old man, what's our plan?"

"Huh? What?" Guild Master Makarov seemed to have just woken up, his expression perplexed as if emerging from a deep slumber.

"We're breaking into the Magic Council to rescue Kyros!!"

"Haha~!" Makarov chuckled, stretching as he replied, "Alright, you troublemakers. Kyros doesn't need your worry, nor your assistance, so let's not stir up trouble."

"What?"

"If the Magic Council dares to cross paths with that lad Kyros, they're the ones who should be concerned."

As one of the ten revered wizards in the Ishgar continent, Makarov was well aware of the Magic Council's might.

Simultaneously, he was among the rare few who glimpsed a fraction of Kyros's true potential. The battles from three years past still echoed vividly in his mind.

Now, three years on, he could only speculate about the extent of the lad's prowess. Truly, he was a remarkable prodigy.

Yet, despite Kyros's formidable strength, the fact remained that his own kin had been snatched away. Makarov couldn't help but feel a surge of anger, a fierce glint flickering in his eyes.

Jose, you've overstepped your bounds this time.
