Looking at Ishida Hideko's solemn expression, Shen Yue's brows furrowed slightly, "The sayings of predecessors?" Pondering over it, the answer came to him, and Shen Yue counter-asked, "Is it Shakyamuni?"
He was never one to sit and wait for answers.
Ishida Hideko let out a sigh, "You've thought of it too."
Shen Yue murmured, "Yes, I should have thought of it earlier." He instantly felt enlightened upon hearing Ishida Hideko's affirmation, "In the 'Diamond Sutra,' it has been said—If a virtuous man or woman were to fill worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges with the seven treasures and give them as alms, they would acquire a great merit."
He suddenly recited a passage from the scriptures, prompting both Ishida Hideko and Nuanyu to exhibit thoughtful expressions.
Shen Yue went on to say, "But Shakyamuni subsequently added—If a virtuous man or woman were to expound even a four-line gatha of this scripture to others, the merit gained would surpass the former."
