The Cursed Child

In an alternate Earth, children started being born with strange powers and abilities. The governments of the world tried to hide these people until they could find an explanation for these occurrences; but as the birthrate of these people continued to grow, and the world itself began to change, it became harder and harder to hide their existence. Eventually, the world learned of the truth and they were formally called 'enhanced' humans. However, people are afraid of the unknown, so these enhanced humans were ostracized, discriminated, hated, and feared. And as if that wasn't enough, by the laws of the universe, all things come at a price. Those who wield fire were not immune to its power, constantly bearing burns and blisters. Those who could read minds could never stop, unable to differentiate between their thoughts and others, most with this power are driven to insanity. However, other people received minor powers with minor "catches", leading to a classification system of their "catches". In an ever changing world filled with no love for their kind, people with different levels of powers and different "catches", experienced many different things. ________________________________________________ Classifications from best to worst: Blessed (extremely helpful) Enhanced + (helpful) Enhanced (normal) Enhanced - (harmful) Cursed (extremely harmful). This novel follows these people through parts of their lives, periodically switching stories after one is finished, only to later show how those stories are interconnected, at which point it will follow a single story-line for the remainder of the novel. This is a passion project of mine that I haven't started yet, I would like to hear feedback on whether or not anybody would be interested in this type of story. I have the major points of the story in my head but since I'm just one person, I would be interested in any ideas for powers and their catches, better names for terminology, or just general questions.

She gets the scholarship and is first approached by Adrian King, the smartest kid in the whole school, who is also the leader of the band of outcasts in the school. She fits in perfectly with this group of people mostly because they have the same level of understanding as she does A situation leads her to collide with Jericho Church-Hill, a self proclaimed loner and the son to the owner of the school who just has a general dislike for everyone and everything around him. She soon finds out that Jericho and Adrian have bad blood between them. Things get out of hand when Amanda starts developing feelings for Adrian and he feels the same way while Jericho is left to battle with his new found emotions for the scholarship winner. Amanda develops a soft spot for Jericho but her feelings for him don't go deeper than that. She later learns of a shocking thing that happened in the past; the reason for the end of Jericho and Adrian's friendship. Determined to not let Jericho remain as stoic and uncaring as he was with no friends, Amanda makes up her mind to bring the two best friends back together and get Jericho out of his shell. In order to do this though, she has to get really close to Jericho; so close that'll he'll tell her everything that happened before and how he truly feels about her. Will she be able to accomplish her task or will she end up breaking up with Adrian for Jericho and even taking his side when she hears the full story of what happened in the past?

Grand Eternal Phantasy, or GEP, is a game released in the 21 century. It was the first VRMMORPG, a successful hit, and became one of the most popular games on the planet. The game has a fantastic graphic, simple and yet deep combat system, with many adventures that players can go on in the game and create a fun experience; it was no surprise the game became a massive hit. The game quickly creates many business opportunities for players in many ways. But all of it changes when it introduces a way to exchange the game currency for real-world currency; the game has now become a fast way to earn money for many people. Many guilds were made, and many had fallen due to how cut-throat the game has become. Hao Greval is one of the many players GEP; he belongs to one of the most famous guilds of all time in the game called Olympia, but he was nothing more than a middle-rank member of the guild and no matter how hard he tried, he never get the recognition that he wanted. No matter how hard he tries, the guild always seems only to pay him in a minimal amount or sometimes none. Hao starts to hate the people in the guild, leading him to hate the game itself before quitting it entirely. Finally, one night, Hao found an old video physical copy that he used to play a lot as a child, so he decided to play it again. Having a fantastic time with his old childhood game made him realise or remember the true purpose of playing games. Waking up the following day, he discovered that he had been transported back in time, where GEP had just come out and decided to give the game a second chance. What does he want to do with this new opportunity? Does he want to make an unimaginable amount from the game? Or to become the best player in the game? Well, no and also yes. Those are only his second and third priorities when he decides to play the game again. His first and most important priority is to do something people seem to forget while playing games: to have fun and have the best time of his life.
