1 The Test of Spirit Root

"Next",

A shout echoed through the mountains of Crimson Sword Sect, from a eagle eye view in sky it would be seen that in this mountain many teenager were standing in line and one after another went ahead to a blurry middle aged man, who would then ask them to place their hands on a glowing orb which emitted white glow.

When the man shouted next another teenager came in front and placed his hands on the Orb, after a moment the Orb Glow dimmed and it began to turn dark. Seeing this the man said coldly,

"Failed..Next..",

The teenager's complexion changed and it turned pale, but despite this he didn't uttered a word and moved back.

This scene was seen by other teenager and some of them had not very good look, far away from the line their were people of different ages standing looking towards these teenagers with anticipation. They were clearly parents and family members.

In this middle of this line, a boy who looked like he just turned 14, looked ahead towards Glowing Orb with worried eyes.

His name is Ye Kai, a member of Green River City Ye Clan, and that was all he had for his introduction, Green River City was not far away from Crimson Sword Sect and every two years when the Sect recruits disciples, Ye Clan sends some of it's disciples to take part in it.

And this year was no different, he as a member of Ye Clan was send here along with another 49 others to be selected as disciple.

This World was very vast and big, and here strength is supreme, nothing is impossible if you have enough strength, you can be King with strength or be a King Maker with your strength.

Cultivation was the natural way for people to attain strength, absorbing the Heaven and Earth Qi and transforming your body with it is called Cultivation. This was definition which Ye Kai had.

But, not everyone can cultivate, their is a requirement that must be fulfilled and that of a presence of Spirit Root.

This was also the reason Ye Kai was worried, although he knew about Spirit Roots and he also heard Elders in Clan talk about it, that was all he knew.

Crimson Sword Sect is a big Sect that has thousands of disciples, it was one four main powers of Dream Cloud State, naturally it's selection had strict rules and regulations.

Green River City is relatively a small City situated just outside of Crimson Sword Mountain.

Just as Ye Kai was pondering a sudden exclamation attracted his attention, he looked up and saw the Glowing Orb which gave white light now had turned to orange,

"Good...", said the middle aged man showing little smile.

"Good...You have Mid-Grade Orange Root..... What's your name little brat..??", said the man while looking at the teenager, who wore blue robes and had sharp eyes with slight smile on his face, said,

"Ye Chen...Elder..",

"What's your age and Cultivation..?",

"16 years old and my Cultivation has broken through to 9th Layer of Body Tempering Realm...", replied the boy with modest attitude.

"Excellent....stand behind me you are now Outer Sect Disciple of my Crimson Sword Sect..", said the man laughing.

"Woah..Outer Sect Disciple..",

"It's been a while since someone with Orange Grade Spirit Root appeared..",

"Ye...is he from Green River City Ye Clan....",

"Yes,...he is the son of Clan Head Ye...",

"Oh, No wonder....",

As soon as the man finished, people and teenager started talking to each other, clearly the result of Ye Chen was rare in selection.

"Silence..", called out the man with slight powerful voice and place was instantly quiet, but shock could be written in everyone's face.

In the group of parents and guardians, a group specially was full of smiles, this was the Ye Clan. When people were seeing them with envy their heads went even higher. This was the the group of Ye Clan.

Ye Kai however didn't have a good expression, and disgust was present when he watched Ye Chen.

Ye Clan is relatively small clan, it's main source of income was from various buildings and Inns that it owned and that was limited to be sure, Ye Clan had around 300 people and it was hard to get resources for Cultivation, the major cut went to Clan Head and Elders, then whatever was left was given to disciples of the Clan.

Ye Kai's father is Deacon in the Clan and has a Job of managing few Inns in Clan's name and due to this Ye Kai had rather good upbringing.

His father didn't posses much of talent in Cultivation and even wanted to let Ye Kai manage the Inns with him.

Part of the reason why Ye Kai wanted to get away was this too, he is young and healthy even if he didn't posses much of talent in Cultivation, he still wanted see the vast world and enjoy it as much he can and if it all does not work out he will go back to Ye Clan.

But, any cultivator even if doesn't posses any Spirit Root he still can cultivate his body up to Body Tempering Realm Peak.

However, this pleasure was taken away by Ye Chen from many Ye Clan disciple. He never had any focus on Cultivation and always bullied others with his identity, but a month ago somehow it was discovered that he had Spirit Root.

Next as it can be imagined, to improve his Cultivation base, best and most of Clans resources were given to him and everyone else didn't have much of resources.

Ye Kai knew that it is how the world worked, but he still believes that their should be some fairness and despite knowing that Ye Chen having a Spirit Root will benefit the Clan and even himself.

Just as he was immersed in his thoughts, a shiny light that went to heaven distracted him,

he looked up only to see a piercing light coming from the orb and creating a natural phenomena, all the things around him were immersed in light.

The shock that was on the middle aged man face was written vividly, exclamation rang out in field and the clear sky somehow have been covered with endless clouds.

"T-..This..what's....g-going ....on..?, A question which was in many peoples mind.

"Is...i-it..?,

"...God..!!!",

The reactions around Ye Kai were dramatic and shocking. Naturally it were even more dramatic then Ye Chen reveal, Ye Kai looked towards the Man and sure enough he said with tremor in his voice,

"Peak....Grade...Red... Spirit Root....!!!?..",

Despite not knowing the meaning of what it really meant, Ye Kai can certainly deduce that this was too shocking and unexpected.

As the Light was piercing the Sky, another light from depth of Crimson Sword Sect Flashed and very quickly several of exact same light flashed and moved towards the Recruitment Mountain,

When the flash came to the Mountain, the figure of a Sword Carrying Man was revealed,

The Middle Aged man quickly stoop up to greet,

"Sect Master..!!",
