Drake

Judea was already prepared for this question and knew that they would not think of it to be her plan that brought her here, to the Phoenix capital.

"I wasn't sent by my father, but of my own free will. I wish to strike a deal with the Phoenix, a deal which would benefit both of us."

The council elders and king let out chuckles of laughter and looked at each other in disbelief. Judea clenched her fist, 'If I didn't need your help to get rid of my problem and help get me the throne, I wouldn't be here right now, groveling in front of you. How embarrassing…. I promise you this, once I bring the dragon clan back to its former glory, I will ensure that you Phoenix are the first to be dealt with.' Judea couldn't help but get mad at herself and the situation.

"Tell me little one, what deal do you wish to strike with us." The king, though amused, still prompted her to continue.

She took a deep breath as she began the script she prepared before coming.

"There's a young dragon child of the name Drazon. He wields the power of three elements, an advanced lightning element, fire, and water primary elements. His talent is so great; none has seen such. But he hates the Phoenix tribe. Should this child become King....."

She came to a stop to build suspense, and eyed the council members, making sure they were listening to her. Though they all had an amused look, she still had their attention.

"Should this child become a dragon king, he will plunge our tribes back into a continuous state of war. As someone who doesn't wish for the death of her tribesman and also a compatriot of Phoenix, I bring this message to you."

She took a deep breath, as concluded her monologue. She exaggerated her cursed brother's ability as much as possible while lying about his hatred for the Phoenix.

Silence reigned for a moment, and soon the king and council members threw their heads back and laughed hysterically. They rocked forward and backward, and quite a few even had tears in their eyes.

The princess grit her teeth as she attempted to hide her anger building inside her. Though she knew this would most likely be their response, she harbored a sliver of hope that they would take her threats seriously.

One of the council elders said in between laughs, "child... Do you believe we would fear this "talented" young dragon?" adding finger quotes around the word, just to show how little stock he put in her threat.

"I would not be so foolish as to think you would believe a young dragon would be a threat to you...." she affirmed, trailing off. Then added, "...but if I were to propose you resolve the issue of that young dragon's existence, then I would personally hand over to you the Dragon's Phoenix fruit."

The boisterous courtroom instantly seized their chatter at the mention of the fruit.

Though essential to the dragon, the Phoenix fruit was far more useful to the Phoenix. They referred to it as a holy fruit. Should a phoenix take this fruit, then they would be immediately reborn and gain control over the rebirth flame, a higher elemental flame.

"Maybe …. we could work out a deal..." The Phoenix king said as he finally began to take the female dragon seriously.

*****************************

In the dragon tribe, Drazon's match against Drake, a top seed wind element dragon, was about to begin.

Like the other matches, it was heated from the beginning. Right out of the gate, Drake and Drazon ran at each other. Drake was the first to attack, throwing a punch. Drazon quickly sidestepped Drake's punch and retaliated with a punch of his own right at Drake's ribs.

Stronger than anticipated, the wind dragon coughed at the blow, though keeping his cool, Drake grabbed hold of Drazon's wrist and twisted his arm up into the air, putting him in an exposed position.

With a front flip, Drazon untwisted himself and threw his fist at Drake's face, regaining his freedom.

Drake staggered backward, wiped his chin, and smiled, then immediately charged right at Drazon.

This fight didn't have a fancy exchange of words; there was no need. They used their fists and their skill to exchange words.

Drazon took a defensive posture and waited for the right moment. When Drake was just out of range, Drazon spat out a water orb in his face and immediately dropped down, sweeping Drake's legs from underneath him.

Not wasting any time, Drazon let loose a flurry of punches. He stopped briefly, cocking back his fist as he charged a fire-lighting finisher. Thinking the assault was done, Drake peeked out from behind his fists, only for Drazon to unleash the attack at the prone dragon, sending him skidding across the stone, centimeters from the edge.

The once wild crowd was utterly silent throughout the exchange. They hadn't expected one of the favorites to be losing and pushed to the brink of defeat right after the match began.

Drazon kept his eyes trained on Drake as the other dragon slowly pulled himself up. Drazon watched and allowed him to stand up, 'I haven't seen him use his wind yet. If I get too close to him and the edge…. He might just use it to push me off…'

Drake looked at Drazon and gave him a half-smile, 'I guess it would be too easy if he were to come over here and let me win, haha. I'll just have to bring it to him then. I bet I could end this without even using my wind. I could just force him into submission by a grapple.'

Drake ran at Drazon once more; Drazon shot his prepared water bullet at Drake's face again. Anticipating this, Drake ducked under it and burst forward from the crouched position with explosive force.

Drazon was a bit stunned as Drake closed the distance between them faster than he had expected. Capitalizing on his advantage, Drake slid just past Drazon and, with one leg, kick Drazon's legs in, forcing him to collapse.

Before Drazon even hit the ground, Drake mounted him and grabbed his arm, placing it between his legs and his legs across Drazon's chest in an armbar, one of his specialties.

Drazon shouted in pain as his arm felt like it would snap with even the slightest increase in pressure. Drazon's scales on his arm began to open up slightly, revealing a somewhat blue hue glowing from between. Squinting due to the pain and unable to think of a way out of the situation, Drazon opened his eyes.

Drake could see the glowing blue eyes, piercing through him. 'What the hell is that?'
