This is the beginning.
But a beginning is called one because it inevitably has an ending.
And I'm standing here at the ending. I can't look back on the road I've walked and all the people I've met. I need to go forward, because if I catch even one glimpse of the things gone before me, I might not come back to the present.
I see the sea, the vast, vast sea. If you follow the waves to where they came from, past islands, past cities, past shipwrecks and train wrecks...
If you travel half way around the world from where I am now, you'll see a place. A dry, broken place devoid of life or happiness...
Empty.
That's the once famed city of Zyka. The place where I was born, where my friends were born. Where I kissed for the first time and the place where I learnt something I'll never forget.
