However, the abyss forgers, humans who awakened the ability to make a pact with the abyss monsters, have managed to create a fragile balance. It remains unknown how long this balance would last, as the abyss monsters still outnumber humanity's forgers in strength and numbers. Leonard Copper, a scavenger from a relatively small shelter, stumbled upon an abyss egg during one of his ventures. Abyss eggs were a rare find, as they were usually guarded by their mothers or hidden in dangerous locations.
