Chapter 26- Victor Cruez 2

Isaac and Alisa thought about jumping over to the next safe piece of land but it was just too risky. Alisa asked Isaac "Can't you use your threads or strings to get us across?".

"Sadly no, the longest my threads can go is 20 meters. We can't do anything but wait for the earth beneath us to crumble too" replied Isaac.

"This is the work of someone's gift. Who's do you think it is?" asked Alisa.

"Definitely not Uranus or the monk Oden. Helius is a swordsman so I can cross him off the list too. Xavier is their Roamer and his gift is a mystery. May and Max's gifts are a mystery too" Isaac replied. That's when a man climbed out of the deep hole that feels like an abyss and showed himself. A black-haired man with piercing purple eyes and had on a red jacket. Isaac and Alisa knew that face all too well. "I beheaded you at the beach. What are you still doing here?" Isaac asked annoyed.

"Victor!" Alisa said.

Victor laughed at the two surrounded by nothing. "Wow, you really thought you murder me. What do you take me for?" asked Victor. Isaac tried stretching his threads far enough to reach Victor but it failed. He was too far away for it to work. Victor jumped on land far away from Alisa and Isaac then snapped his fingers. Just like that the earth under Isaac and Alisa's feet started crumbling.

WAAAAAH!!

This time Isaac didn't bother to do anything. He accepted his faith and closed his eyes. There wasn't anything for him to attach his threads onto for him to make a web or to make a rope. Alisa screamed on her way down terrified at how things were going to end. "Is this how I am going to die? I was so close to learning the whole truth and here I am. About to die" she cried. Everything went black. It's as if she couldn't see a thing despite her eyes being open. While she was in pitch darkness she thought she heard something. A voice so low and dim it could be shrugged off as her imagination. The voice spoke to her again and this time it was slightly louder than before.

"Alisa!" the voice shouted.

Alisa's eyes widened when she heard the voice inside her head once more. "Someone's speaking to me" Alisa realized. She immediately knew who it was and shouted right back.

"LISA!" she shouted in relief.

Victor watched the two fall until they were out of sight. "That's two gone. It should be announced any minute now" Victor smirked. He turned around relieved that he could take out two heavy hitters so early in the game. "At the rate, I'm moving I bet I can take the flag myself," said Victor.

"Hehehehe, Uranus said that Team Odd was full of high offense members. Those two back there was a total joke. Hahahaahahaha" Victor laughed loudly.

BOOOOOOOOM!

The earth shook causing Victor to lose his balance. He fell on his face and cried from the pain. Suddenly without warning the ground Victor was standing shook without him activating his gift. "Shit that hurt! What the hell happened" Victor wondered. He turned around where he heard a huge impact hitting the ground. What he saw rendered him speechless. He tried to speak but he was too shocked to say anything. Never in his wildest dreams would he imagine a person escaping his earth-bending gift. Alisa had Isaac in his arms while she walked out of the crater she made on the ground.

"You must be shocked. If I didn't intervene you definitely have killed Alisa. Can't let that slide"

Victor stayed silent not uttering a word about Alisa's sudden change. "I heard about this before from Uranus. She has another person within her. This must be it. I can't believe she escaped from my death trap" Victor thought to himself.

"Cat got your tongue?" Lisa asked curiously.

Lisa dropped Isaac on the ground then proceeded to walk towards Victor. With every step she took Victor took one step back. "The closer she gets the more scared I feel. She could be a natural killer" Victor said out loud. The earth under Lisa crumbled once again while Victor high-tailed away from her. Isaac tied his threads around Victor's legs before he got out of range and started reeling him back. Victor failed to escape Isaac's invisible threads.

"Have it your way" Victor sighed. A piece of the earth under Isaac split in two. Isaac had to swiftly jump forward to avoid falling. He continued to drag Victor closer and closer until he was finally in punching range. At that point, Victor didn't risk using his gift again because it would harm him as well. "I still can't believe you guys are alive right now," said Victor confused.

"I could say the same thing to you jackass. Die this time okay" Isaac replied. Without Victor's knowledge, Isaac wrapped his body in red threads. The second he closes his fist Victor's head flew off along with many different body parts. One of Victor's hands fell on Isaac's face.

"EEWW!" Isaac yelled disgusted.

Lisa tapped Isaac's shoulder from behind giving him a spook. "YIKES! You're still here" Isaac said relieved.

POW! POW!

Lisa gave Isaac two punches square in the face. His face instantly began to swell from those punches alone. "OWWW! Explain yourself. We aren't supposed to fight remember." Isaac reminded in agony. Lisa ignored his words and dragged his collar closer to her. "I saw what you did to Alisa. You tried to force a weird substance on her. What was it?" Lisa asked angrily.

"You don't know about this either. Are you two born under a rock or something?" Isaac asked. As a secret friend of Ronald Matar Isaac already knew about Alisa's existence and her gift. Sadly Ronald didn't tell him about the killing intent Lisa has. Makes it odd how she is inside Alisa's body. Lisa kicked Isaac away from her and started walking off on her own.

"Sorry okay, let's just celebrate for finally killing that earth-shattering prick please" Isaac begged. Cj checked in on Isaac and Alisa to see if they were still alive. "Hey, are you guys holding up okay? You're not going to die are you" Cj asked worriedly.

"Cj, we're fine but I'm hungry. I'm coming back for a snack" said Lisa.

"What! No, you still haven't engaged Team Even properly yet. Make a decent distraction and then you can come back" Cj ordered. Lisa had no choice but to listen but her stomach was really running on empty. "What's the point of having food if we aren't going to eat any" she sighed.

Two hours later Lisa and Isaac finally made it off the rocky path. A hill was in sight. "That hill is where Team Even is. There must be food there" Lisa said to herself. A black-haired man with piercing purple eyes appeared in front of them.

"This can't be real," Isaac said exhausted.

"Are you immortal sir?" Lisa asked curiously.

Victor smirked at their responses. He casually walked up to them and replied "Yes, I am indeed immortal".

SMASH! Lisa bashed Victor's head on the ground as hard as she could. "As I said I am indeed immortal. Kill me and I'll just simply come back more dangerous. The techniques you used to kill me last time won't work but you are free to try" Victor said. Not a single scratch was on Victor's face. "Two hours ago you were crying when you fell on your face and now you are unscathed from getting your head smashed into the ground. This makes no sense" said Lisa rubbing her stomach. Isaac pulled Victor away from Lisa using his threads then started to tighten their grips. Isaac tried slicing Victor's head off but his threads wouldn't pass his flesh. It didn't even budge.

"Shit, my threads aren't working this time" Isaac complained. Victor snapped each and every red thread around his body. Threads Isaac claimed to be unbreakable. Victor took couple steps back then began inhaling deeply. When his mouth was filled with air he spits it all out in one go.

"Hehehehe what are you doing? You're going to blow me away" Isaac teased. Lisa ran a little to the right to avoid what was coming. Victor blew out every bit of air he had in his lungs.

WHOOSH!

A strong gust of wind blew Isaac high into the air. "AAAAAAAHHH SHIT!" he screamed. The instant Isaac was about to land on the ground Victor grabbed on to him and kneed him in the face.

CREAK!

Lisa whistled at the sound she heard at something breaking. "Damn he dealt with you good" Lisa said amused. She stopped Victor from stomping the life out of Isaac. She held on tightly onto Victor's right hand and asked "Do you want to call it a day? I am famished and I doubt I can best you the way I am now. Give this little girl a chance".

Victor laughed at Lisa's proposal. "Little girl? Earlier when you walked up to me I felt like I was going to piss myself. Your bloodlust is no laughing matter, I rather kill you" said Victor harshly. He punched Lisa in the stomach and forced her on her knees. "Both of you are at my mercy now" Victor smirked. He pulled out a dagger from his back pocket with a creepy smile on his face. Isaac's nose was bent to the left. He tried moving it but it pains him way too much. "This sucks, why did Cj send us out here on our own again. We were stupid to think the two of us could do offense on our own" Isaac said softly. Victor agreed before slamming his dagger in Isaac's chest.

PIERCE! Victor stabbed Isaac in the chest but it didn't go deep enough. Isaac's yellow threads gathered together and formed themselves as a shield. The dagger went through the shield but it absorbed some of the impact. "Hmmm, second time's the charm," said Victor. Lisa stood up and kicked Victor in the neck. Victor responded by blowing out a gust of wind like earlier. Lisa was pushed into a nearby tree and held onto it.

"Tch! My new gift still needs time to develop properly. That's fine. I will just use my old one" laughed Victor.

"Hard skin, can shoot a gust of wind that travels 50mph plus his earth crumbling gift. If he dies again who knows how strong he'll come back" thought Lisa. Without warning Victor caused an earthquake the shook the whole island. Trees everywhere began falling while the earth was splitting. The air was covered in so much dust it became hard to even breathe.

RUMBLING!

Two trees were about to fall on Isaac before Lisa pulled him out of the way. With the ground still shaking Lisa lost her balance quickly and it gave Victor an opening to stab her in her right thigh. The earth was still shaking, rocks and pebbles rose from off the ground and levitated in the air and the wind pressure was stronger than it ever was. ASeveraltrees flew up in the sky and even the river began to rise. With all the chaos happening around Lisa she took a deep breath and smiled. "I can't believe you got this close to me just for a little stab," Lisa said.

Her words sent shivers down Victor's spine. "I stabbed her and this is how she reacts. Teenagers these days are so weird. What's the grin for?" he wondered as he pulled out the dagger. The second Victor tried to take a step back Lisa grabbed hold of him. "No wait, don't go. You got in my range at the perfect time" Lisa smiled happily. Victor tried moving his feet but they wouldn't respond. They were stuck to the ground with no hope of movement. "I can't move. Since when did she have this ability" Victor said annoyed. He looked down at his feet and saw that Lisa was stepping on his shadow.

"YOU BITCH!" he shouted.

Isaac was about to kill him with a thread he had never shown before but Lisa stopped him. "No, there's no point in killing this one if he's going to come back. Leave him here with me. You advance to Team Even's base" said Lisa strongly. "How long can you hold him off?" Isaac asked.

"For as long as I want" Lisa replied.

"Problem is I might get ambushed while you're away so don't be quick" she added.

Isaac nodded and went on his way. He spared no time running up the hill to the enemy's home base. While he was running a thought flashed crossed his mind. "Uranus knows that I am coming. Should I go by myself?" he thought nervously. Then another thought appeared. "Lisa is a Supporter. She can't initiate the first attack on someone. I have to do it. If someone ambushes her now will she be okay?" he wondered.

"How far are you now?" asked Cj through the earpiece.

"I'm running up the hill. I'm afraid I left Lisa to hold off Victor. Is that okay with you?" Isaac asked.

"Wow, how did things end up like that. Lisa is a supporter, leaving her alone is like abandoning her. Make sure you advance up that hill quickly. Whatever it is make sure you distract the enemy from their flag for at least a couple of seconds" said Cj softly. Isaac wanted to force Cj's plan out of him but he knew Uranus might be eavesdropping. "You seriously owe me an explanation after this. Sounds to me like you're sending me to my death" sighed Isaac.
