Golden Brown Wolf

The three wolves saw someone in their path and they targeted those that were in their way.

Those that had been passed by the golden brown wolf had been too focussed towards what was happening on the road and some among them were avoiding the crossbow bolts being fired at them to pay attention to their surroundings.

A little noise was created by the wolves that got closer and their footsteps alerted some enough to turn to look around.

When the golden brown wolf had passed them, it was already too late to realise what was happening before they saw the other wolves jumping towards them.

The three wolves were slowed down by those that blocked their way so the golden brown wolf was able to run ahead a little.

It had a strong sense of smell which helped it to locate others hiding around the area then silently approached to leap onto the back of one lone person.

Blush could taste the strong bloody taste as she sunk her fangs into their neck and held her jaw tightly around their neck.

Their life was ended quickly and she wasted no time to run away from the body that was bleeding out on the ground.

It was a perfect and efficient take down that claimed their life in a short moment then she ran away once she sensed that she was being chased down again. 'They are so persistent! What the hell is up with them!?'

Blush did not have time to look through the memories of the wolf to understand the situation so she had to leave that for later.

It was very weird that the wolves had chased her so far and would not give up once they were met with many failures. 'Did she do something to them or is this just a power thing?'

She did not understand the inner workings of the animals that lived within the wild but she had seen enough documentaries and other things to have some guesses about what was the cause of it all.

They possessed a decent amount of stamina and speed just like the golden brown wolf but the golden brown wolf seemed to possess more so it would be difficult for them to wear it down and to take advantage of its weakness when they would be just as tired themselves.

It was very clear that they had not underestimated the golden brown wolf since they had chosen to corner and attack it as a group from the beginning.

Blush continued to run around and took out any people that were causing problems then she looked over towards the main part of the battle before running from the three wolves that were chasing her again.

Blush thought to herself. 'It seems that I can leave the rest to them. Now.. how should I deal with these three? Is it just that they really wanted to take down the bigger threat or was this wolf the boss of the wolves? Did I intervene in some challenge against the alpha or the territory boss?'

There were some times when there were territorial or power disputes among animal groups so they would only be settled once there was a clear winner or the death of those on one side.

If the three wolves lost their chance then they would probably be kicked out of the area and may even be taken revenge on later by the golden brown wolf so it made a little more sense for them to not give up so easily.

Once there were no more signs of life on one side of the road where there were trees to seek cover behind, Blush ran put using the wolfs body and ran past the axe wielding bandit. "Huh?"

"Wolf attack!"

"Wolves!"

"No.."

"Attack!"

They started to put up a defence against the three wolves that pounced towards them and their weapons pierced into their bodies while the golden brown wolf ran across to the other side of the road to start targeting the other within the forest.

Those protecting the axe wielding bandit had tried to hold off the advances of the three wolves and those that were a part of the group protecting the carriages but the opening had allowed a counterattack to begin.

The armour and weapons were far above the ordinary grade and there had been more than enough to arm a small army.

Many had been made by Blush over the years but were not sold and many of her most recent ones could be said to be the best quality that could be achieved or even surpassing what had been achieved before.

Their durability, sharpness and overall performance were far above even high grade crafted armour or weapons.

The thickness and weight of the metals did not pose that big of an obstruction to their movements compared to what other armour would for ordinary people and even amateurs could swing around her weapons due to their lightness.

There were many that were just sitting in the house of Blush gathering dust over the years after she had gone through different crafting methods and worked on her crafting techniques.

They finally could be put to use so Blush handed them out to be used by those that were better identified to be loyal to her.

They were emptied in a part of another carriage then people could equip themselves with them before the battle took place.

They were not overly big or bulky and fit on their bodies well enough so it took less time to put on any armour.

The additional distractions created by the arguments further away had helped to take away the bandits attention so they could prepare themselves for the incoming battle.

Coral had a set of armour on her body and used her naginata to reach further away and helped to clear a path forward while Zap swung around a battle axe with wide swings to cut apart those blocking his way.

The crossbow bolts pierced through everything they were aimed towards with a greater force than usual.

A bloodstained axe wielding bandit was stood alone panting while holding his arm which had been wounded by a wolf bite. "Damn it. Who could have known that these weaklings could do this.. these wolves too!"

He had lost many men to the three wolves and to those that had broken past those that were his more elite fighters.

The three wolves were laying on the ground covered in wounds and they seemed to slowly bleeding out as they could not muster the strength to move anymore.

There were other people being knocked away or were sliced in half by the big battle axe or were pierced or slashed by a naginata until they finally reached the front.

Many of those fighting were panting heavily but they seemed to be in high spirits.

The blacksmiths had cheered. "Ahahah these really are different to what we usually make. That kid really has surpassed us so very long ago."

They surrounded the remains of the bandits and they lost the will to fight so they dropped onto their knees. "We lose.. we lose. Spare us. Spare us please."

Blush walked down from her carriage a little later and said. "Tie them up and treat them as our captives."

A golden brown wolf came out and ran to her side while growling a little to show its dissatisfaction. "Grr awoo."

Her hand touched its head gently. "I know. I am sorry about that. It is my fault."

The battle had ended and everyone had to get to work with helping to clear the obstruction in the road and seeing to the injured humans and horses.

Blush had finished treating her new familiar that had gained some light cuts and scratches. "There you go. Good girl. Now what should I call you? Do you want something tasty? How about we go with Hazel? Amber? Pancake? Roxie?"

"Grrrr."

The golden brown wolf growled towards her and gained some distance before circling around on the spot to find a comfortable position to lie down.

She then lay there and kept an eye on Blush who was by her side before falling asleep within the carriage.

Blush watched her actions and let out a sigh. 'This one seems like it has a bit of a temperament and is a little bit proud but it is not so bad.'

She stepped out a little later then went to cook some things for herself and brought back a small pile of meat for her new familiar which woke her up and let her hungrily devour it all.

She made sure to collect everything back from the others that was of any value and had aided in the treatment of anyone that was wounded a little so the journey could be continued.

Even the bandits that were remaining had been treated by her so that their lives would not be in danger during the journey when they would be restrained just like her father.

Once everything had been completed, Blush went back to her training and occasionally cared for her new familiar to improve on their relationship.

A familiar could not harm its master and could not escape them once the connection had been made if the mage took control of them forcefully so her new familiar may have held a little of a grudge but it was still harmless to Blush.

Any thoughts of fleeing had been caught by Blush each time and Blush had started to tempt her with food to keep her from thinking of leaving.

She soon had time to explore the memories and found out that her new wolf was one of the bosses of a group of wolves but they had faced off against another group for her territory.

She was a daughter of a golden and brown wolf but they had passed away so she was left to lead her own group during the difficult times.

Eventually it just became her that was left and three other wolves had remained from the war between the two wolf packs.

After many encounters and being made to retreat, the golden brown wolf had been cornered by them in the valley.

There was a really bad past between both sides and the feud would be ended finally with the battle that was about to take place but Blush had intervened.

The golden brown wolf was prideful and originally intended to fight the three wolves even if she was at a disadvantage.

When she saw how Blush dealt with it, she was a little dissatisfied but she was happy to see her enemies finally be defeated.

It was just that she did not wish to show her gratefulness to Blush and put on a strong front due to her pride being damaged a little and from being forced into the bond between them.

Even if she intended to escape from Blush, there was not much for her to return to after her whole pack had been wiped out and she would be left alone to rule over what had been left after the war had taken place between the two packs.

The carriages started moving once again and continued on the journey so that they could finally make a quick stop near another city before moving forward again towards their intended destination.

The aftermath of the battle had been cleaned up and the bodies had been properly dealt with to avoid them being left out in the open to rot and spread disease.

They eventually caught up to those that had set out earlier and had been travelling at a more leisurely pace before they could reach near the capital that Blush had heard a lot about from old man Arbor.
