DO-OVER: Reborn As A Rookie

A tall pale woman was hiding behind a giant rock while a giant powerful rhinolike alien rampaged on the ruins of a futuristic city.

She had long black hair and beautiful red eyes with a three star insignia on her shoulders.

This woman, was Captain Megan of the Awakened Forces.

Fifty years ago, humanoid rhinolike aliens that claimed to come from the future earth, boarded the present planet Earth and coexisted along with the humans.

They were humanoid creatures with huge horns on their backs, nice and very friendly.

With them, came technological advancement and great improvement to humanity.

They were called The Friendlies.

But unfortunately, along with the good stuff, a different species with horns on their foreheads appeared and wiped out the previous ones, they were called The Unfriendlies.

After wiping out their precedessors, they then attacked humanity and decimated 70% of the population.

It was a very dark time, until humanity Awakened.

Once upon a time, gods had resided among humanity and most people were descended from these gods.

These kind of people had unlocked their powers and formed the Awakened Force to defeat the Unfriendlies and save humanity from extinction.

Megan herself was descended from something called a transcendent immortal, making her ten times more powerful than her mates.

With her powers, she quickly rose among the ranks and became a captain, just one rank below the very top.

She had been born powerless, however.

Unlike other Awakened, she had gotten her powers fairly late and had instead, developed her physical body to an almost superhuman level.

She had more Stamina, Strength, and sometimes, speed than most Awakened and coupled with her Transcendent level abilities, she was a force to be reckoned with.

However, today, for the first time since the war had begun, an Unfriendly Demon had come by itself instead of giving instructions to it's army.

"Aaarrrgh!!!!!" One of her comrades screamed in painful agony as the beast had torn off his arms in sadistic pleasure.

She gritted her teeth and held her breath as she heard a horrendously horrifying sound of flesh tearing and the sickening smell of blood human entrails permeated the air.

Another one of her men had died.

She winced.

'How had it come to this?'

A young woman woke up in the morning on a grass field.

No, she hadn't been transported to some alternate universe, she had simply slept there as there was no other place to sleep.

You see, years ago, Time Travelling aliens called The Friendlies boarded our present Earth.

They brought technology and introduced Mana cores to humanity, making them more stronger both physically and mentally.

However another species of the same race had appeared and wiped out The Friendlies.

They launched an attack on humanity to gain control over Earth, but humanity fought back with valor.

Soon, some special people fully activated their Mana Cores and Awakened their ability.

These people banded together against the hostile species and created a special army;

The Awakened Force Academy.

Those woman was one of them.

She was powerful, a three star Captain of the Awakened Force.

She had slept on the grass because her squad, The Slayers division, had battled a few hundred Unfriendlies and severely needed a rest.

She proceeded to check out her face with a small mirror she usually carried about.

Staring into the glass shard, a beautiful woman with red eyes and a boyish haircut looked back at her

She had a cool scar on her right cheek and a size D chest.

This, was Captain Megan,

The Unfriendly Slayer with a kill count of over a thousand aliens weekly.

Megan had been summoned to The Awakened Force Base almost as soon as she had woken up.

Once again, another threat seemed to loom above humanity.

"Hello, Dummy"

She called out to a nervous, sweaty, Awakened she had met on the way.

This man was Major General.

No he wasn't THE Major General, his name was simply General Major.

He cursed and adjusted his round glasses, looking up at the tall figure,

"H-H-Hey..Ca-Captain M-Megan!"

He stuttered as he tried to reply.

They had been classmates at the Awakened Force Academy.

But when joining The Awakened Force, she had quickly rose through the ranks due to her battle savvy personality and immense power. currently she even outranked him.

Megan looked at the sweaty messes called Awakened soldiers and sighed in cold frustration.

"You guys were summoned too, huh"

The Awakened Force rarely summoned more than three soldiers no matter the amount of attacking Unfriendlies, so the situation today must have been serious.

Very Serious.

On her right, there were three Awakened Soldiers,

The first, was Major.

The second, was a blonde girl who looked no less than seventeen, she was called Reyanolda.

The third, was a muscular man called Ja

And on her left, however, were three more,

A green haired man weirdly called greeny

Another blonde girl called Hailey, and a black haired girl called Raven.

They all sat and waited for the general in the silence of the office.

The general was a gaunt fat man with a large pot belly.

However, he was by no means weak.

He was an Awakened Sovereign.

One of the few thousand alive.

He walked into the office with an aura of confidence.

"Good day, Captain Megan, soldiers"

All the soldiers stood up to salute him, making him pull a small smile.

"At ease, soldiers.

Y'all may have heard rumors about a big attack, so I'll cut to the chase.

This is your new squad. You all have been deployed to Binon city, ...at least what remains of it, to battle the incoming threat.

Understood?"

They all nodded in unison.

This would be a harrowing mission, but in this world, living another day was harrowing by itself.

"Yes, Sir!!"

A year had passed since then, and Megan was furious with herself.

All her life, she had lost everything because she had been too weak.

So when she had first awoken, she worked quadruple times as hard as every other Awakened so she would be the youngest Awakened Monster in history.

That was her own mission.

Now, she was very, very close to her goal but once again, she found herself in a situation where she had to watch her new family, the squad she had captained for the past year, perish in front of her eyes.

"Please! Please No!! ...No! No! Noooo!!!"

~Squelch~

And now another of her comrades had died.

This one had hurt her in particular as she took this girl as her younger sister.

Tears flowed from Megan's eyes as clenched her fist so tight that she began to draw blood.

'I'll make sure to avenge you, sister Reyanolda.

This b*stard is gonna pay hell, even if it's the last thing I friggin do!'

After killing the rest of the squad, the Unfriendly licked the Blood off it's hands and sniffed loud.

"Hmm? Another scent huh?.

You must be that Captain Megan, the woman who took the lives of so many of our people..."

the Unfriendly began.

He continued as he searched among the rubble.

"You know, I thought you were strong."

"But you're just another piece of crap your weak species chose to sacrifice for their pathetic survival"

"Shut up bastard!!"

Megan screamed as she ran as fast as a bullet towards the Unfriendly.

She was fast.

Probably the third fastest Awakened alive.

This beast, however, had one more Mana core than she did, so her speed was like nothing to him.

He swatted her away like a fly, making her body crash into a nearby gigantic piece of rubble.

With an agonizing scream, Megan lifted the gigantic rubble the size of half a skyscraper and hurled it at the alien.

But the Unfriendly just smiled and ran straight through the rubble Boulder, turning it into dust, and lunged at her, tearing off her arm in the process as he slammed into her battered body sending her flying once again.

"Weak." Megan spat.

"Why am I still so weak?!...I-I'm so sorry guys...i-i couldn't, I couldn't even touch him once"

She knew she was fighting a losing Battle, she knew that this was the end of her life, however, she did not relent, even if her body had gone limp.

Even If her mind had become cloudy, she would avenge her squad family. Even if it was the last thing she did.

The Unfriendly smirked maliciously as picked up her almost unconscious body and impaled her on his horn, tearing her battered body into two.

"HaHa, Die bi*ch!!"

And that was it.

The famous Captainess Morgan, a three star commander of the Slayer squad of the Awakened Force.

One who had slain millions of Unfriendlies by herself.

Was finally dead.

Impaled straight through her heart by an Unfriendly of the Devil rank.
