Chapter 234: The Line That Must Not Be Crossed

Jor-El and Superman's heat vision clashed in the blue sky, sparks flying fiercely wherever they collided.

Jor-El no longer harbored any love for Kal-El. The pain that pierced his heart at this moment was as intense as his former love and tolerance.

Even more despairing was the fact that Superman, with whom he clashed heat vision in the sky, was gradually overpowering him, pushing back his heat vision relentlessly.

The parallel universe energy previously infused into Superman's body by him was gradually merging and unleashing Superman's potential under his attacks.

Superman had begun to grow stronger, strong enough to defeat him.

And all of it was caused by himself.

"Do you just want to protect these humans?" Jor-El was shrouded in despair, misery, and twisted sorrow, even his anger seemed as bleak as a spineless stray dog separated from its family.

He had nothing left.

"Your father H'el was here to build a new Krypton, and you, protecting the humans of this planet, have an infinitely bright future waiting for you. All of this is built on the destruction of the House of El.

I won't allow you to tread on the rebirth of the House of El! You should perish with this planet!!"

Jor-El knew he couldn't match Superman anymore. He quickly withdrew his heat vision, which was being pushed back continuously, roaring in anger, and rushed past Superman's heat vision.

The intense heat burned his gray skin, and with despair and rage, Jor-El burst into sonic booms, charging towards the ground.

"The spirit of the House of El has not died! It continues to influence me! I will carry on..."

Superman, who was already prepared to stop Jor-El, quickly withdrew his heat vision, catching up to to the latter and shouting desperately, hoping to make Jor-El turn back, until he saw Jor-El actions, which made him stop abruptly.

Jor-El directly broke through the ground, causing a huge shockwave. Cars on the main road, trash cans on the side of the street, lampposts, everything was lifted into the air, and the ground surged outward like ocean waves, and tall buildings swayed and collapsed incessantly.

Superman instantly understood what Jor-El wanted to do.

He wanted to directly pierce the Earth's core and destroy the planet.

Following the hole Jor-El charged into, Superman dashed in at extreme speed.

The lives of 7 billion plus people on Earth were at stake, and Superman no longer held back. He traversed through the earth and rocks underground, rushing to Jor-El's side at a depth of 1500 meters, directly holding onto him and enduring all the attacks and beatings from from up close. With his head down, he charged towards the surface.

St. John's Art Museum.

The white marble floor suddenly arched and cracked as Superman emerged from underground, carrying Jor-El. A huge impact exploded, and Superman and Jor-El rolled apart.

Surrounding people seeking refuge fled in terror.

Jor-El rolled half-kneeling, raising his head, fingers inserted into the marble floor, looking at the terrified screaming crowd, his eyes beginning to flash with the light of heat vision.

Every human on this Earth, the humans Superman protected, had become the existence he wanted to destroy.

"No!"

Superman swiftly rushed over, punching Jor-El in the cheek, pushing him back several steps. Jor-El spun his body, causing his heat vision to miss.

Jor-El's beams were deflected by Superman's punch, shooting straight towards the ceiling, cutting through chandeliers, slicing a semicircle into the roof, and the red glow of the heat vision shot into the sky, with lava-like magma dripping down, causing even more panic among the fleeing crowd.

"Ahh!!"

A father and a mother, holding their 7-year-old daughter, desperately crouched in a corner.

The mother held her daughter, who was frightened by the fallen chandelier, tightly in her arms, while the father stood in front of them, with his hands spread open, protecting his wife and daughter. His back was soaked in sweat, constantly pressing against his wife and daughter behind him, looking at Jor-El in terror.

Jor-El's heat vision, cutting through the roof, spread along the walls, and began to approach the family in the corner.

The scorching temperature of the heat vision spread to the corner, continuously shooting sparks at the walls, melting the walls into lava. The father, drenched in sweat and terrified, the mother holding her daughter tightly, tears streaming down their faces uncontrollably.

"Enough!"

Superman saw this scene and quickly rushed over, his hands reaching out from behind Jor-El, using all his strength to form a cross chokehold, locking Jor-El's neck to prevent him from turning.

"Have you forgotten what you told me? Your ideals and beliefs, the hope you entrusted to me! We will find a solution, don't hurt others and fall into the abyss!"

Superman's arms bulged with veins, his face flushed red as he gripped Jor-El's neck, preventing his head from turning. Jor-El's heat vision continued to spark next to the family, the father and mother huddled together in terror, tightly protecting their daughter.

Superman shouted loudly in his ear.

The Jor-El he knew was not like this.

He treated everyone equally, valued life, loved life, loved peace, and never bullied the weak with his strength.

He learned a lot from him and understood the gift and burden of his own power.

The creed of the House of El: peace, equality, freedom, responsibility, love, and hope, were deeply engraved in his heart.

To become Superman, he had fifty percent credit, thanks to this father—Jor-El.

"You are not of the House of El, you are merely a creation of H'el. Let everything perish with the disappearance of the House of El!!!"

Jor-El gritted his teeth, his ferocious face exerting tremendous force, intending to shoot dead the family of Earthlings in front of him.

Krypton was destroyed, the bloodline of the House of El did not continue, why should such insignificant beings on this planet exist?

"Is bloodline really that important?"

Superman's face was filled with sadness and anger, tears flowed uncontrollably from his eyes, the power struggle with Jor-El almost made him lose his grip, he was not sure if he could completely stop Jor-El, who disregarded his own life and death.

But he couldn't let go, he couldn't watch Jor-El kill this family in front of him.

"You can't stop me!"

Jor-El roared, his head stubbornly shaking and trembling as he resisted Superman, inching his heat vision towards the terrified family in the corner.

Without the bloodline of Krypton, without the Codex, without the parallel universe energy he infused into Superman's body, Kal-El wouldn't have been able to stop him from killing this family of Earthlings at this moment.

Naturally conceived on Krypton, the Codex, sending Kal-El to Earth, allowing him to bask in the sun and become the god of Earth.

Without the ancient Kryptonian bloodline, he should have been nothing!

Hearing this desperate response,

Superman's face contorted in pain, tears of sorrow streaming from the corners of his eyes, anger and sorrow turning into a helpless roar from the depths of his heart.

"Ah!!...!!!"

His voice echoed loudly throughout the entire St. John's Art Museum, his hands fiercely exerting all the power Jor-El had infused into him through the parallel universe, snapping his neck.

The heat vision in Jor-El's eyes went out, his cervical vertebrae shattered, and he slowly slipped from Superman's embrace, kneeling on the white marble, and with a thud, his entire body collapsed.

Jor-El was dead.

Superman's tears gushed like a spring, crying out in agony.

H'el's black figure walked in from the backlight outside.
