Crash into the Abyss

It's morning, Luna realizes something changes in her. She gasped and choked as she tried to take a deep breath. She looked around the room that was too bright for her own liking, and she had a thick, dark curtain to block out the morning sun and she always had it on whether it's day or night. She took another deep breath and realized that the breathlessness she felt was gone. The excruciating pain she felt each time she had to take a breath was gone, too.

The heaviness of her body was different from what she used to and she grabbed her hair. She used to have a short bob haircut but now her hair is long and messy. She slept naked and now she woke up wearing oversized tees. She remembers that she's trying to sleep with her noisy neighbors partying that keep her awake till dawn and the sun brightly lit up the room with white, almost transparent curtain.

She thought that she went insane as she realized that she started to appreciate her neighbor's noisiness than this brightly lit up room in the morning. She tried to roll on to the other side of the bed and find a guy there, sleeping so peacefully. She slept alone and now she had a panic attack as she woke up in the same bed as a guy. She pinched her cheek and it hurt, she thought she's dreaming but she's not. She realized it's the face of a guy she doesn't want to see anymore. Not after the bad break up they had when he showed up with her pregnant so-called best friend a couple of days before the registration of their wedding more than 10 years ago.

She took a glance at the room, it felt more like a pigsty than a room, even a pigpen is cleaner than this room. The room she doesn't wanna step on to again. But here she is, trying to recall everything that happened. She never had a dream that felt so real like this, every detail felt so real. And she looked at the bedside table and saw her Sony Ericsson w800 phone, she grabbed it, checked it and it looks so new without crack and dent because her so-called best friend dropped it accidentally.

She checked the dates, it's Saturday, May 21st 2005 7:10am. It feels like a bomb exploding on her face. So she's back 14 years ago, back to her 23 year-old self. She remembers she had this phone for almost 8 years until the battery went off and she had to change it to BlackBerry Curve.

She quickly went out of the room, changed her clothes to her short army green shorts and blue oversized t-shirt with a cute angry Donald duck in it. She's surprised to see her younger, messy self in the mirror, she looks chubbier and sexier but she preferred her 38 year-old body with muscle toned up. She started to packed her stuff as she remembers that her stuff were mostly books, a few clothes and basic necessity. She saw him come out of the room with a drowsy face and messy bed hair that she used to like. But she can only find fault within him now.

"Baby, what's wrong?" He asked as he hugged her from behind and kissed her neck.

She's petrified and shuddered as she heard him call her that, he didn't call her that four years before they broke up. She can't do it anymore, pretending she's so in love with him when she knew what he did behind her back. So she pushed him away. "Everything is wrong, we're done, over! I can't be with you anymore so go to Sisca."

"I told you we're just friends," he argued.

"Oh please, if you really think of her as 'just friends', you would tell me whose clothes are in the bathroom, cause they're not mine. And they're not your sister's either," she said as she continued to pack her stuff onto her bag.

"You've changed overnight," he said.

"Nope, I opened my eyes and saw that we're not compatible at all, so goodbye," she left after packing up her stuff that wasn't much and she's glad she still has her own place and it's not too late. Because according to her memory, she'd cancel the deposit and move with him not long after today. She remembered that she used to have Nokia and changed to Sony Ericsson w800 then after that she moved to his place for four years.
