Osima POV

Osima knowing her mum so well decided to ask her what she was hiding with Ela. She knew her mum will be forced to tell her because she wouldn't want her to blame her later. "Mum enough of the teasing already , what's going on? You need to tell me," I couldn't bare their silence. I hate being put in the dark and my mother knows that.

My mother who had a bright smiling face suddenly became dark. What could it be I wondered? I knew it has to be something delicate for my mum and Ela to be hiding it from me. But the doctor said I was doing fine. Does it have to do with my sister? I turned to my mum who was suddenly acting cold. " Mum you need to spill it". It will be best i know,"

Mum nod her head in agreement .

'' It's your work 'she finally spoke out.

"What's wrong with my work? What did they say. Why didn't I think of my work.

" You have been replaced mum answered with a straight face.

I heard her words re- echo several times in my ears.' you have been replaced ' after repeating the words in my head severally I still could not make out the meaning of what she was trying to say.

I could understand those words individually but when I put them together the meaning was unbelievable. 'I must have heard her wrongly' I tried to calm myself.

"Mum what do you mean by I have been replaced?" I asked wondering when my mother's choice of words become so poor. I believe my mum could notice my breath moving faster than before.

"Ela should be able to explain better why don't you wait for her," My mum answered.

" Mum please you need to call her. I couldn't wait longer. I needed to know the detail," I told much, I did not want to accept what I just heard. As far as I know, I have not done anything wrong. I have done my work deligently for the past three years.

Mum went out to call Ela and they both returned shortly after. Immediately I caught their sight, I turned to Ela who should know what was coming and asked her to start talking. "Start talking already" I said looking straight into Ela's eyes like I didn't want to miss a thing.

"So I went to your department to see your boss on Tuesday," she started talking. "I was surprised to find out that someone else was on your tesk.when I inquire, I was told that you have been replaced for being absent from your DUTY," Ela explained. I immediately felt my head spinning as she spoke. It was as if she was speaking faster than normal. As far as I know, I have not been absent from work. I only wanted Ela to make a report earlier because the doctor said I needed to rest well beside what did she meant by she went to my department on Tuesday? "Ela is probably missing things up" I am not someone who misses my work. Ela look at me. I think she could guess my confusion.

"You have not been to work for three days now Osima. You were on coma for four days," I could tell that Ela was speeking calmly but each word hit on me like a harmer. How come no one told me this. I thought I have only slept for a short while. I felt tears effortlessly coming down on my cheek. On a second thought, even if I have missed work, it was for a reasonable excuse. There was no way I could when I was on a coma.

"That's not all Osima" 'Ela said and pause as if she was waiting to see my reaction. I looked at her without saying a word wondering what Ela has to say next.

"There was a bit of mix up with the event that happened to us that day. We were at the wrong venue for the birthday party.If only I had pay more attention I would have known that the venue was right at the opposite of where we went," Ela blamed herself.

"We had gone to where the police had raided some prostitutes earlier that same day . Prior before then, Information had gone to the police of someone called miss Gold who had rented the place was allegedly using it for something like a brothel but fronted a different business on the surface. Clients from different works of life usually go there to patronise the girls and the girls in tune payed renter fee to her . When I managed to excape to call the police, seeing where they found you We were mistaken to be part of the girls who had excape earlier. I don't know how your boss heard about the rumors and he immediately declared that you were unfit for your position," Ela explained.

My jaw dropped. My mouth was open the entire time listening to Ela speak. What a twist of event. I couldn't believe I have been entangled in such a mess. I held my head with my both hands as I couldn't keep up with how my head ache. I gently lay back on the bed. I must calm down. I told my self. I knew my boss had been looking for a means to fault my work but I never knew he would take advantage of a situation as this to get me fired.

"I should never have gone for that party," I regreted my decision.

"Ela don't worry, I already sorted things out with the police, we would not have such bad records on our files," Ela comforted me. She must have noticed that I was shaken by the news.

"I am fine, I just want to rest a little," I said seeing that my mother was looking worried. I did not want her to bring up the topic of moving back to her house.
